More Build Mode Items + Cozy Loft and Garden!

I hope you all enjoy these showcases, as we are planning to share new items for the Build Mode and the Paramaker periodically. We hope you will look forward to them!
The Loft
For this week, we have created a little colourful studio! Itβs so cozy, I am kind of jealous.
Recently, Iβve been creating a lot of bedroom items that we were missing, such as the bedside tables, dressers and beds.
We also have a lot of new living room stuff, like new couches (which are all resizable π) and armchairs! We have a variety of designs now, so we are able to create rooms with more varied styles.
New prints were also created to add a bit more variety in the decor.
The Garden
Lastly, LΓ©a and I did some work on plants. We have a pretty extensive list of plants to do, so we have a lot of work ahead of us.
A little garden scene featuring items we recently worked on, namely new flowers!
A sunflower field, perfect for the summer. Sunflowers are some of my favorite flowers, so I was super happy to get to create those.
Hereβs a lineup of most of our vegetation items currently in the game.
That is it for this weekβs showcase! Thereβs quite a bit we havenβt shown you, but that we might showcase next: washer/dryers, anyone?
So far, we have a little selection of most item types in the game. For the upcoming months, we aim to have a bit of every item type so we can test out animations and features for the live mode. I will also be focussing on creating more clutter/decor items in the upcoming weeks in order to have new things to furnish the rooms. Weβre a bit tired of seeing the same monstera plant and duck planter, even though we like them!

Iβm very interested: will the lighting for the inside stay like that? Like looking like the room is without a ceiling? What would be the visual differentiator to let the player know that a room is enclosed and not affected by weather?

Would it technically be possible to create some sort of autofill or brush for flowers, bushes, stones and so on to create a garden scenery without putting down every single and so on flower manually. Maybe through modding tool? Keep up your awesome work! <3

2023-05-08 18:26:09 +0000 UTCSo, beautiful! Beyond expectations. I had a conversation with another female gamer, a long time ago, and we started talking about Paralives' unique look. We are used to The Sims and other games that attempt to flirt with reality (not redoing it exactly), in terms of textures, images, the look of the characters, and the environment. The idea has always been to redo reality in an interesting life-simulation way. Your game, looking at this and previous screenshots, flirts with reality in a lovely a bit of cartoonish and positive way. The woman I talked about Pralives, said she didn't like the look of the game, but I told her that it reminds me of some of those sweet little short movies you can find on YouTube, and she responded with "I haven't looked at it this way. It makes me rethink my views about it!". You are doing amazing work with this design and I sincerely hope that this beautiful, cartoonish-vibe, interface, etc. will come back to repay for all the heart, love, and hard work you invest in it. Can't wait to see how things will go!

LOL I can't wait for all of the things!

2023-04-27 14:56:51 +0000 UTCWow great job on everything so far, I even love those peachy tones <3 As for washer/dryer, I think they do belong in game but, there truly should be an option to turn off/on animations for those who can't be bothered with laundry. In other words, one player might enjoy the full on experience as I do at times, but another player likes to play but feels the laundry can be a tedious frustration. But I think for purpose of realism, they do need to be in game.

All the beautiful things being shown off are incredible of course, but most simulation games sorely lack in the realm of options for representing an average person's environment. I want to be able to create a tiny, cramped 1 bedroom with a grubby old fridge, a creaky bed or maybe a simple box spring and mattress on the floor, junky decor I could have found on the side of the road, etc. My dream for this game is to start my Para out in a very poor and unappealing setting and have them work their way up.

Maybe mine was just not the best. :/ Oh well I have a laundry room and separate dryer now. Also, if not using a dryer, could we have an option to hang clothes inside as well as outside? Since it's so rainy here, I've hung clothes indoors pretty often.

If so, they might be a little low-poly. I do love that bench though! Its juust big enough for two, but things look to get a bit more intimate π Is the bench also resizable?

A small detail that id really enjoy seeing in especially sunflowers but maybe also some other flowers would be if the flower head followed the sun and gradually changed their direction during the day, and during autumn they would be more still when theyre meant to be ripe with seeds. I dont know if its doable, but it would add just that little bit of detail that would make a big difference to at least flower interested people! You guys are all doing amazing work!

Are armchairs resizable, too ? Specifically I'm thinking of fat Paras who might appreciate furniture with more room ! What is the "rule" of what is resizable and what isn't, actually, would make for an interesting post in the future.
