A little something for Earth Day
Added 2020-04-22 17:10:04 +0000 UTCHey! Hi!
I hope you are having a nice week so far. We have a couple of things to show you!
Earth Day
Today, April 22, is earth day! To celebrate, I'd like to talk to you about two eco-friendly items in Paralives: the solar panel and the small wind turbine. These items can be bought and placed on your lot to reduce your electricity bill!
See GIF below. Please keep this info a secret between Patrons for now!

Body Deformation Preview
We are almost ready to reveal the Parafolks but not quite yet! We wanted to show you a small preview of some of the body deformations that are possible in the Paramaker (the character creation mode). We used a temporary test texture for the body to avoid revealing too much what a Para looks like.
Here's the GIF! Again, please keep this info a secret between Patrons for now!

Inspiration from other games
Roxane, Léa and I have been playing the new Animal Crossing game for Nintendo Switch lately and we are enjoying it quite a lot! It's also a life simulation game but still very different from the Paralives formula. That made me wonder, what gameplay features from games that are not in the same genre as Paralives would you be interested in seeing in the game? Tell us in the comment section of this post!
That's all for today! Have a nice one and take care :)

I think overall a real sense of being apart of and implementing change into your town, i.e being apart of or hosting your own events in town at the library or the park, property investment ? Or renting, being a landlord. Investment in your local venues ? Such as the library the park the food hut on the beach or the big bistro in town ? Investment in produce for the local down supermarket ? And how these investments may change and shape the expansion/ look of the said venues. I think solid interactions are important and things to do with family or friends which are really unique.

2021-03-16 13:04:55 +0000 UTCI absolutely love it, if it's going to be the same in-game, that you have so many options for body deformations. Thesims4 were something unseen, and yet, it's very limited. I would love something less limited, afterall, we all have different bodytypes. I would love to see myself able to modify small details like the waist, the shape of the waist, the height of the waist, etc... Anyhow, you guys are doing a great job, keep it up ! You got yourself a new fan today.

2020-09-04 22:25:36 +0000 UTCThese are fantastic! I would love to have solar power and wind power in Paralives! Could we also have composting toilets too? My dream home is to have a fully off the grid home whether it's a tiny house or a converted bus (I really want an off the grid converted bus home). I would love to see features like these in the game somehow! Thank you so much for all of your hard work!
2020-05-30 21:57:37 +0000 UTCOh! And I started playing city builders games again (thx to Anno and Ubi's amazing job) and it would be nice if we could be involved in the city life. Like voting for some projects or write some, and the bills or other things would be impacted.
2020-05-26 20:35:42 +0000 UTCI know it's been a month since you asked some inspiration from other games but one just crossed my mind. I played "Beyond two souls" again a few weeks ago and I really like the scene when she asks Ryan to come to her place for a nice dinner. She cleans her flat then take a shower and get ready and finally picks a recipe from a book and starts cooking (you cut the meat, look for the olive oil, fry the vegetables, etc). It could be great if we could actually cook. Not a big deal though you know, just being able to buy ingredients from a shop or something and have a list of recipes we can cook with these ingredients and then participate in the process, not just pick the recipe then everything is automated. And maybe have some challenges (like clean the place, take a shower, etc) when you invite someone over and if you don't they could have a reaction if you or your place is a mess ^^
2020-05-26 20:31:01 +0000 UTCI love the idea of a "walk-around-mode"!! That would be soo awsome😃 It would make the game soo much more immersive😍
2020-05-22 09:36:49 +0000 UTCI'd like a balance between a relationship one works for, and one wherein both Paras are just so matched that their bond is harder to break. Plus, even if the latter broke up, they'd still remain friends, whereas the former may cut ties altogether. Plus+ maybe the one you have a bond with isn't the right one for you (based on traits, habits, etc), but the one you work for may end up being the one for you as the relationship progresses.

2020-05-21 13:30:49 +0000 UTCAnd tattoos/piercings at a parlour.
Roe B.
2020-05-21 13:25:24 +0000 UTCHow about both? You can buy the items, and also obtain them through specific gameplay, that way if you're broke (or playing as such) you can still obtain and craft items you don't have the funds for.
Roe B.
2020-05-21 13:24:19 +0000 UTCI don't know about that. If there are going to be rabbitholes and obviously things they can't implement due to engine, budget, etc, it wouldn't be too bad to utilize one's imagination to break up the monotony here and there.

2020-05-21 13:20:44 +0000 UTCWhilst it's not a common thing, I do like seeing the buildings from a dollhouse-like perspective. It would be nice to be able to do that, and rotate around to see each of the 4 sides from that perspective, like rotating a box or diarama. That, or some sort of "walkabout" mode wherein one can look around from the para perspective, rather than just overhead or over-the-shoulder - at least for fine-tuning remodeling/building.
Roe B.
2020-05-21 02:12:43 +0000 UTCYes! And going a step further - people with disabilities, body hair, and skin conditions etc. Virgilio, prosthetic implants, stretch marks. Also like MORE weight. Like loads of people consider themselves fat and are super accepting and self-loving of that, and I think that's awesome.
2020-05-20 12:04:39 +0000 UTCThis! In the other game it infuriates me how a sim will be low on happiness so I'll get them to do one of their 'hobbies' and their fun will continue to go down!
2020-05-20 09:59:14 +0000 UTCIt would be nice to have more body types then Skinny -> Curvy. That way more people can feel represented :)

2020-05-20 08:05:07 +0000 UTCA gameplay feature from another genre of games that I think might be interesting to consider is Stats or Attributes like in RPGs that are separate from personality traits and affect skills. These could be things like Strength, Agility and Intelligence that Paras could work on improving, and that would in turn affect how quickly they can gain skills that depend on those attributes. For example, a Para could work out lifting weights to improve their strength, and then they will get a boost in learning all skills that are strength-based. That way if there is an Athletic personality trait, that can just be about what the para likes doing, but it doesn't affect how good they will be at it. I really like the idea of having Paras who maybe love something but aren't too great at it, and we the players can either try to rise to the challenge, or else try to find some other way to make them happy. Maybe not all Paras who love Music will be able to easily become a world-class musician, but they could still have fun listening to music or dancing with their friends. Paras could inherit their base stats from their parents (or players could set them with limitations when they're created), but they can improve them through their actions in game, and it could add some fun challenge to do things like trying to get a Para that starts with, say, low Intelligence, to get to the point where they are a master scientist or something. Or you can choose to have them embrace their natural strengths as it will be easier, and in that case might encourage you to play different Paras differently as some will naturally be better at some things than others, and reduce the chance of monotony or feeling like there's one "best" skill or profession. It could also work together with traits, so if a Para is naturally Agile, and has a personality trait that makes them love being the center of attention, maybe they will decide to become an acrobat. Or if they instead love music they might become a dancer, or if they are into health and fitness they might get into yoga. Some skills might be affected by multiple stats too, and maybe some skills require a stat to be at a certain level before a Para can progress past a certain point, which is one way that would make it easier for Paras with a naturally high stat, while others would have to work harder at it. Another example could be a Creativity stat, so if a Para builds up their Creativity through, for example, painting, they might have very high painting skill too, but not necessarily have any skill at, say, photography, but since the their Creativity stat as also going up, if they do chose to start learning photography they will improve much faster learning this new skill since now their Creativity stat is much higher than when they started learning the first skill. There can also be activities that don't increase a skill but just a stat, for example studying color theory on the computer or with a book, but to actually get better at painting specifically Paras would have to actually paint. Maybe school can be more about improving stats than specific skills, or at least at the younger ages, and then as Parakids get into higher grades like high school or college (if it's added) then maybe they can start specializing more and focusing on specific skills. Sorry this is long, I can just think of a lot of interesting ways a stat system like this could be used in this kind of game. It might be too complicated though, depending on what you already have planned for these aspects of the game.

2020-05-19 21:49:36 +0000 UTCI like that other games' (RPGs like Skyrim as Dei mentioned) NPCs seem to remember past interactions and understand social context better. Even ACNH's NPCs react to what you're wearing, holding, where you are, how you interacted previously, etc. Off-topic but kinda relevant: Random health issues! Negative life events, accidents, disease, loss of abilities... Ex: When your Folk is depressed, they do things slower and get less out of social interactions with people they don't know well, but get more out of deep conversations with close friends and family.

2020-05-19 19:37:43 +0000 UTCLike how the controls for Star dew valley work with the characters!
2020-05-18 23:13:56 +0000 UTCI like being able to control the character with my controls actively. Instead of telling them to go do something passively!
2020-05-18 23:10:44 +0000 UTCI like the idea of Skyrim where you can open another character's inventory to give them clothes or items, and maybe see them wear it
Dei
2020-05-17 15:08:47 +0000 UTCEarlier there was a post about clothing? I believe that it'll be kind of cool if custom made clothing can be downloaded via shops like they are in animal crossing like the codes . Because of the whole buy and sell thing it would be an interesting game-play addition to see paralives players uploading their clothing creations and selling it for a specific (hopefully) reasonable price. That would make the clothing available for unlock in the paramaker. I'm a new patron here and I made patreon just for paralives and because of that I would like to thank you so much for the effort you all put into making this game. Hope you all stay safe and healthy
2020-05-17 07:35:40 +0000 UTCi would love it for the parafolks to get happy when they do their hobby. For example if they like to cook, that they get happier when they do.
2020-05-16 12:55:55 +0000 UTCI do not like gardening in real life, however in every game that allows it... I fall into the agricultural system as soon as I discover it in the game. I have always wanted to have a little game garden where I attracted good birds, ones that where not a nuisance but more like a little feathered friend that pops in and sings or I can willingly offer a treat from my garden. In real life... I am one to stop and take a photo of an inquisitive squirrel or furry friend. This would be interesting to me... I do not know why... but in games where I can capture a photo that is interesting to the moment for the character I am playing... I will also stop and take this photo. It would be interesting to be able to share items with other Parafolk, not always just sell items. Like being able to leave a box, basket, or so of items my Parafolk has made or grown with that Parafolk's friends or neighbors. To come back and find a note or a gift from the known or unknown receiver of the gift. Imagine gaining a ParaFriend just by exchanging extra items and then eventually meeting up and already be a bit friendly with them. These are just some ideas I have always wanted in a game... in any game... but never have seen this occur naturally. I had to somewhat role-play it happening for whatever character I was playing.

2020-05-16 08:44:30 +0000 UTCHi! I had an idea to make the Parafolk more life -like. I was wondering, what if the Parafolk faltered every once an a while? So say they are doing laundry and then oops, they drop a sock. Or maybe they are walking up stairs and oh no, they trip. Now of course these would not be consistent things, but every once in a while may be cool. Adds a bit more of a human feel because y'all know we mess up. :) Thank you very much for reading, I just joined your Patron about three days ago and I am loving it so far, I really appreciate all the work you and your team are putting into Paralives. <3
Sarah
2020-05-16 07:45:00 +0000 UTCOh I'm so happy I joined this patreon. I would like to add or second any suggestion that we should have a robust crafting system. I'd love roles like carpentry, jewelry making, arts and crafts, sewing, etc. Being able to decorate our homes and people with items our parafolk made themselves would be so cool! If that's not already a feature you've considered/backlogged that would be my suggestion.
2020-05-15 19:48:40 +0000 UTCI would love if the Parafolk had their own traditions that they do as a town!
2020-05-13 10:32:13 +0000 UTCI love that we can see the top of the hip bone (illiac crest) when you shrink the waist. It really makes the form feel real, like the people have real human skeletons!

2020-05-12 23:55:59 +0000 UTCI am living for the body deforming!!!
2020-05-12 08:05:11 +0000 UTCHmm i would absolutely love to see my one of my fave games called Zepeto, where you fully customize a 3d avatar and travel to worlds. i would love if you could add the style of the Zepeto's as they are childish and cartoony and a bit realistic. another good game is Toca life / Miga town. They are kids games but have a LOT of details.
2020-05-11 18:30:47 +0000 UTCLove this! I love animal crossing cut scenes!
2020-05-08 14:25:29 +0000 UTCCut scenes! For engagements and stuff like that, really immerses the player. I know people are asking for a lot but hopefully cut scenes makes a lot of the processes easier because the player isn’t actively playing but still providing a great experience.
2020-05-08 06:55:54 +0000 UTCIs it possible to have 3rd person view and control them like in the sims 2 console game? That was dope and I have been so sad ever since. There's something about having to move the cursor to choose what to do that takes away some of the fun of simulation. I thoroughly enjoyed having to walk to whatever I was going to do, as you would in real life.
Keishla Soto
2020-05-08 02:02:41 +0000 UTCI just also want to add something I would like NOT to see implemented, and that is any kind of adventure/journey/scenario played out entirely through on-screen text. I’m a huge fan of the Sims franchise (well, 1-3), but starting with the 3rd one and especially with the 4th, more and more simulation was played out through text adventures. If I wanted a text adventure, I would read a book, not play a video game. Simulation games should first and foremost, simulate. Please stay true to this as much as possible when creating this game.
2020-05-08 01:47:25 +0000 UTCOne of the first simulation games I ever played was Rollercoaster Tycoon. I remember being so surprised and cackled with delight when I realized that if you clicked on the balloons the park peeps were walking around with, they would pop. It was just a fun little hidden surprise. I think it would be fun to have something like that hidden in this type of game. Like, maybe if you clicked on a pool floatie while in use, it would pop. Or if you clicked on a tree during a lightening storm, the tree would be struck. Just something interactive and totally unexpected.
2020-05-08 01:36:13 +0000 UTCI actually like the idea of unlocking items like in Sims 4. Legacy challenge would be more interresting this way, with the family gathering unlockable object across the generations. But I also heard that some people hate it..
justyourfan
2020-05-07 22:15:30 +0000 UTCI'm really excited about windmills and solar panels! I have been wanting those in some games for a while but haven't found a working mod! I'm so looking forward to building wonderful homes and playing paras!
2020-05-07 18:51:24 +0000 UTCYes, general relationship depth would be amazing. I also think relationships should change based on actions and not go from hot to cold for no reason, or only get angry when one is caught cheating. For example an engaged couple where one is a neat freak and the other is a clutter bug or messy. The neat freak could get frustrated by the clutter and mess, but that doesn't necessarily mean they break up. They could talk about it, or maybe even argue once in a while and then make up, or one is flirt and the other is jealous and they might argue or their relationship eventually doesn't work out because the jealous one is just too insecure or has too many trust issues. Kids who don't keep their rooms clean, or who don't do their chores may get a lecture or get something taken away for a week. I guess I just want depth in general...lol
CeeWilliams
2020-05-07 17:35:53 +0000 UTCI think general relationship depth would be really useful! I loved little details in the sims 2 in how they treated each other in family units, like parents cuddling with their kids and kids meetings parents at the door. It would make it easier for us to get invested in our paras relationships!
2020-05-07 04:53:24 +0000 UTCI was just thinking gardening! I love the idea of keeping both indoor and houseplants that grow and get bigger and need to be repotted, etc.
Bree
2020-05-05 23:15:04 +0000 UTCI like the idea of having "dating simulator" type actions when first starting to date a new para or have romantic interest. This could be based on their interests, appearance, traits, skills, what they're attracted to etc. I feel that romance is so flat and easily obtainable in most life simulations, and I think it should be somewhat of a challenge! Long lasting relationships are not easily attainable and I think that should be reflected in a good life simulator.
Bree
2020-05-05 23:13:21 +0000 UTCComo vai ser feito a parte de mexer no corpo do personagem ? Tipo mexer em barras puxando ou como mexer qualquer parte do corpo
2020-05-04 04:04:39 +0000 UTCI love the idea!! I’m so excited for the solar panels and turbine!! I also really love the way you can move the body so that you won’t be stuck with the same body presets for every para!! You guys are doing amazing and are so appreciated!!!
2020-05-01 20:38:36 +0000 UTCBonjour et merci pour ce beau travail.Des cinématiques marquant les étapes de la vie. être fermier, s'occuper des bêtes ou encore être gérant d'un hôtel et des destinations de vacances.
Ludivine
2020-05-01 20:13:41 +0000 UTCWould love cut scenes to be introduced like in Sims 2 or Sims Bustin' Out, etc for special events such as New Years, Birthdays, Weddings, etc.
2020-05-01 15:24:59 +0000 UTCI would love more gardening. Honestly, and I don't know if it's doable, I think farming would be awesome. Take gardens to a new level and have a farm, complete with cows and chickens and everything!
2020-05-01 14:26:56 +0000 UTCWhat about a game in a game. I was thinking of Houseflipper and gardenflipper in a somewhat light edition in paralives. where you can earn money for your Para by fixing other paras houses, while at work.
Bodil Bührmann
2020-05-01 12:57:45 +0000 UTCMy favorite part of animal crossing is able to travel to a city and sell your items in a flea market and get your hair done at a hair salon and pay your mortgage. I would love to see selling your stuff at a flea market and getting your hair done at a salon implemented in the game.
2020-04-30 22:03:54 +0000 UTCmaybe add a slider to also drag the butt out into the back, not just the sides :D "i like big butts and i cannot liee~" xD okay sorry. i love the turbine and solar panels omg! and from other games i do like that some have an RPG element, but then again i overall like RPG games :) something similar to life is strange would be nice, just a story to follow, maybe using your own custom para? idk :)
2020-04-30 17:54:48 +0000 UTCHip shape is such a nitpick thing to be excited about, but I'm thrilled. I've NEVER been able to make a Sim or other character with my body type in a game like this, and you just did it. I CANNOT WAIT. THANK YOU!
2020-04-30 15:34:12 +0000 UTCi personally dont want to wait to use any items, so if anything similar to this was included, i hope its optional. maybe as a gameplay mode.
2020-04-30 12:45:46 +0000 UTCI think a main differentiator between the Sims and Animal Crossing formulas is the gamification of object collection. The Sims formula tends to have the entire Build Mode catalog available from the start, while Animal Crossing can have you wait weeks (if not months) until you see a type of furniture. For example, I've yet to see a countertop Animal Crossing New Horizons despite having played it since launch! That's obviously a bit extreme, but I do find decorating my house in AC much more satisfying in a video game sort of way, because you truly collect or craft every single item in the house piece by piece. I know that people definitely want to be able to build the house of their dreams in Paralives from day 1, but perhaps some method of joining the furniture collecting aspect in Build Mode might prove for a more rewarding gameplay experience? Just a thought!
2020-04-30 03:45:31 +0000 UTCIm so exited!
2020-04-30 02:02:37 +0000 UTCI would like some kind of gardening or farming like in Stardew Valley or the Sims franchise. I was addicted to gardening in Sims 3 and in Sims 4 it's just not as fun.
Ryn
2020-04-30 01:30:26 +0000 UTCWe know that you are all in a hurry to show the character, but please take your time and work. Surprise us) Good luck!
2020-04-30 01:26:08 +0000 UTCyea when do we get to see them :(
TeddyO
2020-04-29 23:54:56 +0000 UTCHey or buy wood and build a table etc, it can be a weekend activity, like first weekend revolting wood second weekend start build the table etc.
2020-04-29 23:50:01 +0000 UTCCan't wait to see the parafolks. I would love to see interactions between all of the parafolks. And during holiday season make some actions available so that people can interact. In the sims they are not interacting at all. We should be able to prepare the holiday season with a checklist, like preparing xmas (with a checklist: decorating the tree with kids, decorating the house, buying gifts with the husband and argue because he doesn't want to go because he is the kind of parafolk that prefer indoor, going grocery shopping for xmas dinner etc, kids going to play at their neighborhood because it s holiday)
2020-04-29 23:40:34 +0000 UTCI agree! I would like to see the npcs react more with the world and with you, more than be static or emotionless like in other games. This just feels like the world will be alive and immersive! :3 Great ideas
Becky
2020-04-29 22:39:06 +0000 UTCYea the sims 4 team were not thinking of gameplay at all in terms of achievability like how do you earn 10000 reward points for the “never weary” when you can’t achieve it without pausing the aging or setting a long lifespan😭
2020-04-29 20:30:53 +0000 UTC^^^
2020-04-29 19:55:39 +0000 UTCIt doesn't seem to work on the mobile app.
2020-04-29 18:59:28 +0000 UTC^^^Yes! I would love to layer clothing!
2020-04-29 17:08:44 +0000 UTCI remember loving playing those dress up games when i was young and i would really like to be able to layer clothing in PAM. Like instead of being locked to wear just a t-shirt or a sweater, you can you can select both and layer the two clothing items on top of each other. Another example can be if you have a cool jacket you'd like to match with a hoodie, a t-shirt or a jumper. It would be nice not to be locked to specific clothing combinations, and just have fun with mixing and matching the different items. Also being able to tuck t-shirts fully or halfway (french tuck) into the pants would be a nice feature to have too.
2020-04-29 16:24:01 +0000 UTCA Bulletin board would be pretty cool! Like, a place where you, yourself, could leave and write notes for other paras. Holidays and special events could be written on it too, and NPC Para's could put up party invites and stuff. So that kinda merges with animal crossing, and it would be a fun way to have the community in-game interact more!
2020-04-29 15:16:16 +0000 UTC(Pressed send too early) so I can see that there are already so many improvements that I trust the process your team is creating. Keep killing it!!!!
2020-04-29 11:28:52 +0000 UTCI don’t necessarily get more inspiration for what I want in a game while playing other games, but it’s more of a “that’s gotta go, that’s not gonna work for me.” Lol. That said, I have no examples😂 however, I will say that y’all are already doing such a sick job!!! Y’all have come up with stuff I haven’t thought of and I’ve been playing simulation games, mostly sims, since I was I think 7? Maybe older idk. But two decades
2020-04-29 11:27:45 +0000 UTCI'd love if Parafolk could tell each other stories , bedtime stories, spooky stories, folklore, etc. And telling stories increased a skill , like creativity. And depending on the type of story, listening to a story could cause a Para to feel happy, excited, scared, amused, etc. And those moodlets can effect their behavior and mood.
2020-04-28 20:52:48 +0000 UTCI really like the idea of traits not being permanent. e.g. your materialistic Para experience a burglary and has a chance to realise that the most important thing in life is not stuff and looses the materialistic trait. I think it would be cool, if your para would evolve/change so to speak. What stories it would create. And I would always remember those Paras, because of their stories.
2020-04-28 20:29:42 +0000 UTC~ I like the idea of mini challenge games thrown in as as event, done on special occasions or on a random basis, I know the Sims franchise started doing that in Sims 4 but it vanished! (& I rather enjoyed it, as it was something extra to do that was different than the same old boring every day tasks in the Sims! Do not get me wrong I love the Sims but this last one is a bore, I tend to spend more time building & making (or make-over NPC's) Sims, than actually playing! And it is a "Game" you are meant to play games! (not just build & create)) anyway just a thought, keep up the good work you are all doing an amazing job!♥♥♥
2020-04-28 19:02:14 +0000 UTCI see some people disagree. It was brainstorming for a nice gesture considering the massive promotion. I'd be happy to see NPCs of whoever Alex, Roxanne and Lea choose. Real or not. And same with any items. They are doing all the actual work to create the game If Pixelade would even want that is another story. And if it's not a popular idea then I wouldn't want it in game. I like these discussions.
2020-04-28 14:17:57 +0000 UTCAnimal crossing new horizons has been my favourite so far! So some ideas of that game would be cool to implement in this. Still, Paralives ideas already seem great. I guess some cool interactions like gossiping with Parafolk would then unlock more secrets of another para, then that could work as an advantage etc , kind of like the rumour system in AC. 2020-04-28 10:36:40 +0000 UTCI love this so much. The body shape when expanded looks so natural! It keeps its shape and does not just inflate like a balloon, amazing. Now I'm hoping the muscles look natural, as too often they look ridiculous in other games. Lots of faith you guys will figure it out!

2020-04-28 09:08:15 +0000 UTCOn another note, i'd love if there were premades that already have relationships with the Parafolks in the world around them. And interesting personalities and story lines.
2020-04-28 06:08:30 +0000 UTCI'm gonna have to disagree with the idea to put social media influencers in this game.
2020-04-28 06:07:18 +0000 UTCNo. If influencers are featured in this game , i will not buy it.
2020-04-28 06:03:58 +0000 UTCChanging from wasd to clicking for movement would be a cool optional thing

2020-04-28 04:56:04 +0000 UTCAlso it's not a game but Can Pixelade from youtube be featured as an NPC, or a cameo in a painting in the game? Pixelade has done so many videos about Paralives. I know that I personally wouldn't be on this patreon without Pixelade and I've heard that from other people on discord. I would love to see Pixelade get a shout out or a cameo somehow.
2020-04-27 22:08:52 +0000 UTCI really love WASD style gameplay for walking. Without WASD games can sometimes feel less like a game and more like a chore. If it's not possible for the entire game, could there maybe be a WASD style mini-game feature on a DLC pack? Just an idea for a way to implement something as a compromise. I know I've heard it will be Point and Click style but I really think something like mini-games with more immersive features will give this game an edge on any other simulation games out there and bring more of a variety of gamers.
2020-04-27 21:56:26 +0000 UTCAlso, something I would love is for the possibility to become mega rich. In most life simulation games you kinda have to cheat to achieve immense wealth levels. Like in TS4 you reach the pinnacle of any profession and sure, you make a nice amount of money, but if you want to buy a half a million dollar home, you'll have to save forever and by the time you have accumulated all that money, 9 generations have passed and you got bored of playing two weeks ago. I'm not saying make it easy to become a millionaire ( if I recall correctly the Devs talked about cheats and mods), I'm saying make it achievable.
2020-04-27 17:06:18 +0000 UTCSince cars are confirmed, I would love to have wear and maintenance, where if you maintain the car it's less likely (but not impossible) for it to break. You can pay someone to do this or you can do it yourself and build skills. You could also take into account the age of the vehicle. Older cars will break more often, while it's highly unlikely a new car will. Also, gasoline/electricity, where you have to fuel your car regularly or charge it. Also, having this be something that costs money would be cool.
2020-04-27 16:55:45 +0000 UTCI’m playing a game called Universim at the moment.. I love the god aspect of it, where the way you play impacts on their belief in you as the creator. The more belief in you, the more creator points earned, that can be used to improve or upgrade your town .Eg: Better flourishing harvestable’s ,or cheaper buyable items.

2020-04-27 12:49:48 +0000 UTCHi Alex, Roxane and Lea. Getting more and more excited with every snippet I see 😍, I’m loving all the additions your making. You’re just amazing !! My additions from other games would have to be, aspirations and wishes, only bigger Eg: Maggie has been thinking about making over her patio, she’s thinking a tiki style would be cool . She could have a BBQ to show it off to family and friends.. Or. Eg: Maggie wants revenge against ( name) so sneaks out a night and trashes their car / garden. She could get caught and spend a night in jail, have to pay a fine and compensation, or have a record for days / months that affects their life . Have possibly a job loss. A unlucky para would have poor outcome and a lucky para a good one neutral either and so on ..

2020-04-27 11:57:03 +0000 UTCthis idea is REALLY cool!!
2020-04-27 06:08:28 +0000 UTCI would just like to add Alex that I am REALLY hoping the Parafolks have more of a realistic look to them rather than a cartoony look like the Sims of Sims 4. #Realismforthewin
2020-04-27 05:19:21 +0000 UTCAnything SimCity.
2020-04-27 00:56:26 +0000 UTCmaybe some survival vibe? for example when we send paras in jurney into wood
2020-04-26 23:11:12 +0000 UTCWhat about something like in driving simulations when they randomly spawn "unexpected events" so like in this game it's broken down cars ahead but in paralives it could be like having a new sim move in next door or have an unexpected charge or someone spread gossip about someone? Or could be like an accident at work that puts a para in a wheelchair. Or an unexpected pregnancy. Gives an element of realism and it's fun to not know what's going to happen. Then maybe it can be toggled off for those who want complete control? 🙂

2020-04-26 22:27:31 +0000 UTCYass, love the idea of the shops having different items each day.
Bianca J
2020-04-26 09:21:17 +0000 UTCYes that would be awesome, even better if you can multitask by taking more than one dog on a walk or go for a stroll with your dog and toddler?

2020-04-26 07:37:51 +0000 UTCGoing into debt and facing the consequences thereof might be really cool to see play out, maybe not be forced into it forever though like Animal Crossing.
Matt Jeffrey
2020-04-26 07:32:37 +0000 UTCI would love it if you had to go to shops to buy furniture and people could have garage sales and stuff, this would actually give a reason for people to go to flee markets and stuff because you wouldn’t be able to just buy them, you would have to search for specific items you want like in animal crossing! Like each day the shops could change the items they are selling.
2020-04-26 05:53:27 +0000 UTCI personally really like the mechanics in adventure games where you can buy things from NPCs and create your own items. This might be interesting as in a life simulation like this, a player could buy items from vendors around town like furniture at a yard sale, or fresh vegetables, baked goods, and even homemade jewelry or something at a farmers market in town. This might not be something for the base game though. For creating custom items, there could be pottery or something that the player could decorate in a painting UI (kind of like how in the sims you can paint a dog's fur). The player could make a fathers day mug for the kid in a family to give to their dad or they could customize decorations around the house.
2020-04-25 22:14:44 +0000 UTCHi, I forgot to add that I love how flexible it is to scale different parts of the body....Looking forward to the reveal of the parafolk, I hope Maggie is part of the reveal 😉

2020-04-25 20:11:16 +0000 UTCJust wondering, will there be sliders or overlays for fat/muscle index, independent of the sliders shown here? So we could theoretically have paras with the same/similar overall size and build but one appearing more muscular/fit while the other is just slim or chubby.
2020-04-25 16:39:47 +0000 UTCWhen they use computers the computer should have various interactions. If they play a game, load a playable minigame, an interactive web browser for shopping, browsing, emails etc. Similar to the browsers in GTA V & House Flipper for example.

2020-04-25 12:48:20 +0000 UTCLooks great so far! As far as gameplay features in different genre games that could be interesting I was thinking of the branching dialogue options like in Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition. Like in the sims they just say one thing and that's it, onto the next topic. But what if the parafolk had a few branching options to choose from depending on who they're talking too/how they're feeling. That way every dialogue option isn't strictly one emotion like "happy" or "funny" from the start. The conversations wouldn't go on forever I would imagine but maybe like 2-3 dialogue options deep for some of the interactions would be cool to see!

2020-04-24 23:59:35 +0000 UTCWas wondering, will the wind turbine and solar panels be susceptible to wear and tear due to use and or weather and be in need for repair/replacement?

2020-04-24 23:18:21 +0000 UTCOn the topic of Animal Crossing, I think having to pay off home loans or loans in general would be a nice touch.
2020-04-24 21:50:46 +0000 UTCYooo I've been wishing to be able to create self-sustainable homes since sims 3! Thank you for the wind turbine and solar panels, bless!

2020-04-24 21:40:06 +0000 UTCI also really like how in "Final Fantasy 14", you actually have to do something when fishing (if you want to include a fishing hobby/career). You have to choose a bait and if a fish bites, there pops up an exclamation mark and you have to press a key to try and catch the fish. If your skill is too low the fish will "win" and escape with the bait. There are also some fish that only bite at specific times of the day or with the right weather conditions or both. There are also different fishing spots for different fish (you won't get a saltwaterfish from a river or lake, and no freshwater fish from fishing at the sea).
2020-04-24 21:09:43 +0000 UTCHey there, so another suggestion from me: my boyfriend is playing a MMORPG called "Black Desert" and there is just one feature, that I find really cool about it. Every NPC has a basic personality and you have to build a relationship with them (talking to them, finding out who and what they like and dislike) in order to unlock certain items, you can either buy or get as a gift only if you have a good enough relationship.
2020-04-24 20:56:15 +0000 UTCBeing cozy is the best.

2020-04-24 20:48:03 +0000 UTCStardew Valley may be good inspiration. Activities that can be done onle in specific time of year, shops that are open only in specific time, in the evening we see people coming back to their homes, maybe wood chopping to light a fireplace?
2020-04-24 19:18:15 +0000 UTCIt would be cool to take the dog on a walk. Like if the dog had to use the restroom or if the owner just wanted to walk around the neighborhood
Lauren Lynn
2020-04-24 18:25:59 +0000 UTCi miss the real life dynamic of foraging/crafting/making where you need to find a buyer. i'm a sculptor in life and i can't just go into buy mode and click sell, it would be nice to go to events and table if my para is a creator, of course as an optional way to sell the items with the choice of buy mode selling also to remain. more options the better. ps. please don't make my wife divorce me in my life sim game, these comments are wild
2020-04-24 17:11:42 +0000 UTCAnother thing games in this genre are missing is the randomness of life, unexpected happenings both good, neutral and inconvenient. Actual events, not pop ups. For example: My Parafolk is laid off from work because the company is cutting back on workers. Or a nice neighbor leaves a gift basket on my Parafolks doorstep. A knock at the door and a greeting and my Parafolk is handed a basket of goodies , like food or different kinds of tea or something. How about Parafolk who can spill drinks on themselves and then their shirt would have a coffee (or whatever) and have to be washed or swapped? Actually visibly dirty clothes. Or my sim is walking down the road after a rainstorm and a passing car causes water to blow up and soak them with street water. Or new neighbors move in my and Parafolk can actually see a moving truck and furniture being carried into a previously empty house. What if Parafolk could fall down, break their bones? Have injuries and actual illness. What if a friend who doesn't own a car, could ask for a lift to the store? or anywhere? and helping a friend could in need could boost the friendship and the reputation of that Parafolk?
2020-04-24 16:36:25 +0000 UTCI totally agree with your statement - It's all about the depth. I also think there needs to be a level of difficulty/challenges . After all life is not easy and it shouldn't be in this game as well
Bianca J
2020-04-24 15:05:54 +0000 UTCHere's another idea, in the sims, marriages will just go on and on unless the player separates the characters. Since many of us are asking for dynamic gameplay in Paralives, it would be great if marriages needed to be nurtured. In marriages with very little romance or spice in the intimacy department, Parafolk could be more likely to desire to have affairs and one of the Para's could even ask for a divorce. Or give an ultimatum! And if a sim has an affair they should have the option to confess. If the sim is witnessed cheating, whoever witnessed it can either react to the cheating or confront or tell someone else. Also , it would be nice if sims could have a Polyamorous trait and not be jealous.
2020-04-24 14:41:18 +0000 UTCThat honestly, shouldnt have to be a reach. Im really tired of life sims that seem like set dressing. Either go all in or dont bother.
2020-04-24 14:36:54 +0000 UTCI don't want anything at all floating never or over them. Would like the Parafolk to seem humanlike.
2020-04-24 14:35:56 +0000 UTCIn the sims , there aren't any group activities outside of a few objects. Can we have group activities in Parlives please? For exampling we finally got boats but they only seat one person. So sims have to go boating alone. How about Frisbee, Volleyball, just tossing a ball? We had the latter in sims 2 even. Sims 2 was ( to me ) the last truly great life sim. how about siblings that can play games like hide and seek? what about more interactions between Parafolks and their pets other than just pick up and pet? lol. Im just looking for a truly interesting experience that offers a lot of depth, not just surface level fluff.
2020-04-24 14:34:48 +0000 UTCAlso instead of a using a replacement for the Plumbob that’s above the characters head, I thought using something like Links fairy Navi (The glowing ball) would be cool! You’ll be able to see the “fairy” of the para you have selected. She’ll float around near their shoulders but Will eventually disappear back into your Parafolk.

2020-04-24 14:04:06 +0000 UTChey!! can we have doors and windows being different colors on either side? or even different styles? ty <3 !!
2020-04-24 13:56:47 +0000 UTCHey Anime fans! Maybe we can draw some inspiration from our favorite shows as well! 1. As a replacement for the death character used in the sims, how about a creature similar to Ryuk from the anime death note? Depending on how your parafolk die, a different shinigami will appear! Ryuk loved apples, so maybe depending on what shinigami appears, you can use their favorite food to bring your para back to life if you have that item.
Simmons
2020-04-24 13:56:23 +0000 UTCi like that idea! like doing chores for neighbors to earn some money on the side. like making lunch for their kids or mowing their lawn, fixing their bathroom sink.
2020-04-24 13:30:53 +0000 UTCSeasonal events would be fun. Sth like in Stardew Valley, with special content and activities to do, where all the parafolks can spend time. Current festivals in the sims 4 feel plain and don't bring much special stuff. I imagine that events to be sth special in town. Maybe some special interactions before the festival, decorations could be appearing around the town, in the future other cities could have its unique events and the parafolks from other places can travel to participate in them.

2020-04-24 13:07:37 +0000 UTCThe gifs don’t work for me 😿
2020-04-24 11:46:23 +0000 UTCamazing!!
2020-04-24 11:03:10 +0000 UTCI would like if there was a possibility to live off the grid / on farms etc. and being able to forage/collect treasures in nature. And also, this might be a tricky thing to do but I would really love if they were able to sit in other ways than just straight up and down.. like cross-legged on floor, with crossed legs on arm-chairs etc.
2020-04-24 10:24:52 +0000 UTCThanks for the sneak peeks. Really looking forward to the game! It would be awesome to be able to create or change the world/neighbourhood before loading into the paraworld. The Sims started as a spinoff of Simcity and one could build a world in Simcity 4 and import it into Sims 2. That way you could determine how you wanted your neighbourhood to look like.

2020-04-24 09:04:12 +0000 UTCTo be honest this makes me think I don't really want emotions for our paras....or at least not overwhelming ones like in the Sims 4. I really don't like how they work in the Sims 4.

2020-04-24 08:39:17 +0000 UTCI think we really need the mood aura in objects so they inspire the paras, o makes them sad, or happy, or nostalgic

2020-04-24 07:39:49 +0000 UTCMy sister and I are so thrilled for this game ! Everything that’s already been planned and confirmed for the game sounds amazing and we have zero complaints. I know this is an extreme reach but just to throw out some ideas, I’ve always thought it would be so much fun if open world simulation games had things like little convenience stores where if you’re para was enjoying some time at the park, they could walk across the street to the convenience store and buy a slushy or candy bar. Again, obviously it’s a reach but I’ve always thought it’d be so cool as well as maybe drive thru fast food were you don’t even have to be able to go into the building you can do through drive through and a pop up menu comes up to choose what you’d like to order and you can drive back home and enjoy your meal ! This is definitely not important stuff but just thought I’d share :)
2020-04-24 06:36:02 +0000 UTCMaybe the gardening, and the quests you receive from neighbors. :)
Joanie Boissonneault
2020-04-24 05:52:51 +0000 UTCAn Interaction among paras I think would be cool would be eavesdropping on other paras. Whether it be from outside a door, listening in on paras on the phone, or at a restaurant at the table behind you. Paras would react based on their individual personality. Your active para or even NPCs being able to have the option to butt in the convo. Im not sure if anyone already mentioned this but personalities maybe being able to have a positive attribute that wouldn’t negate the negative, like for example being able to have a para who doesn’t like children would be nice to their siblings and family members but feel weird around or be not as nice to other peoples children. Or a nice para who’s also easily jealous or devious. Being able o interact with buildings and the world more on the outside. The thing I noticed in other genres is that there’s a lot of big sandbox games but you can’t actually interact with everything it’s just usually for decoration. But I guess what actions would each bring from the objects is the question. But buildings/ skyscrapers and stores maybe paras could window shop or look inside; pick flowers from the grass or pick a leaf off the tree if its visibly on the ground. Inside homes maybe cabinets could be functional to take out items to get a cup of milk or water, windows could be opened, or wiped if they’ve fogged up from the cold outside, paras could pick up smaller objects and move them around the house to another spot. By this I mean the player clicks on the object say for example a flower pot and selects move then they click the window ceil, then the para picks up the flower pot and places it on the location selected. Paras being able to rummage through trash cans and find items, that being said being able to throw any item away in any trash can, and paras being able to steal items from stores. Maybe a map of the current world played in could appear on the screen while paras are driving, showing players where their para is in the world in real game time. So if they are going somewhere and the player decides not to take their para there. They can click on different places to go on the map and the car would reroute itself and take them there. Also maybe a toggle to make a car speed up or drive slower would be cool while paras drive into towns/neighborhoods. Being able to hear music playing from passing cars if it’s loud. Hearing neighbors and other paras in the world throwing parties from their homes, fight, etc. From across the street or kinda far off.

2020-04-24 05:18:51 +0000 UTCVery interesting question! Suggestions to get people thinking outside of the box is a great idea, and I hadn't thought about it myself until now. One thing that I think would be really cool is to add in the ability to actually interact with certain activities. I'm trying to not use the word "mini-games", but sort of. Like some other people have mentioned gardening and farming like in Star-Dew Valley. Or for example, you send your para over to a pool table to play pool, you have the option to actually play a pool mini-game. Honestly though I think the main thing I'd like to see is just a greater variety of hobbies! I played a life sim game once where you could teach your character to play a variety of instruments, drums, bass, guitar, piano; you could actually play together with other characters. Newer releases of that game still don't have that :( Or perhaps working on and repairing cars is your para's hobby! Another could be building computers or some other tech related hobby; then if you got good enough at it you could earn money by performing or selling your services! Maybe even open a small business? :D
2020-04-24 03:17:13 +0000 UTCI would love to see some different hobbies/skills such as pottery and/or stone sculptures etc
2020-04-23 23:54:28 +0000 UTCSeasonal Events with exclusive items/activities (AC cherry blossom event) and having to buy your clothes and furniture adds some realism.
Jimmy Neutron
2020-04-23 23:53:15 +0000 UTCI don’t know if this has been asked but I would like a way for there to be joint custody of a child and child support. Also being able to own multiple houses :))
2020-04-23 23:20:50 +0000 UTCAlso I would like to see different art techniques, also traditional arts like knitting, embroidery, wood carving
Светлана Корзинкина
2020-04-23 23:03:42 +0000 UTCThat would be great if users could influence on how parafolks create some things, for example to chose colors of a future painting (like in "the longing"), or to chose a design and color of clothes if there is an option to sew them
Светлана Корзинкина
2020-04-23 22:55:09 +0000 UTCMaybe there could be a way to build a zoo, so your Parafolk can visit?
2020-04-23 21:34:21 +0000 UTCI love this idea as well..Will make things more interesting

2020-04-23 18:56:50 +0000 UTCOH I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS IDEA I HAD! Parafolk should have differing relationship perspectives! For example, Parafolk Susan considers Parafolk Martha to be her best friend at work. Parafolk Martha hates Susan and finds her totally annoying 😂 This will add so much to gameplay and works really well for unrequited love and other interactions!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-23 18:50:14 +0000 UTCI would love to have a completely off the grid option as well, ty!
2020-04-23 17:52:07 +0000 UTCI was thinking something super similar! I like to play legacy families, and quests/missions/objectives would help keep the gameplay unique for each character and engaging for the player over a longer period of time
2020-04-23 17:32:26 +0000 UTCI play a game called My Time at Portia, and one thing that i love about this game is that you can build and create things that can help improve the life in Portia (the Town). Is a really cool aspect of the game and i enjoy it so much because it gives me the feeling like im part of the liveliness of this town. Just by being able to take comisions from the townies feels awesome, and i love that im helping them out with something they need. I know this game is another genre that centers in that creating aspect and follows a story line, but i think having some mechanics like this will be awesome. Like beeing able to take some request from a neighbor to build them something or even repairing something they need by having the skills, knowledge and materials to do it. This is just an idea, and im aware it might be dificult to implement all this in a game. Anyways im just amazed on the progress you´ve done and how the game is looking, and im very happy to be able to help such an amazing team.
2020-04-23 17:31:22 +0000 UTCHmm, my comment went missing so I'll try again. Amazing as always, Alex! I haven't played Animal Crossing myself since I don't have a Switch. I've played plenty of open world games, especially GTA. There are a lot of things that aren't in The Sims series yet (or are limited) that could be in Paralives. I have plenty of ideas: 1) Layered clothing which Sims 2 for PS2 had but not in any of the main PC titles. 2) Actual Fast-Food restaurants in which you could eat or takeaway unlike in The Sims series where there are just generic restaurants. 3) New modes of transportation which are not too much like buses and trams, and helicopters from Sims 2 could also make a comeback. 4) Skydiving and of course, a chance of death. 5) Cinemas, casinos and amusement parks which were in Sims 3 but better ofc. 6) Car customization and modification, hydraulics would be nice. There is certainly more I didn't mention.
Stermatical
2020-04-23 16:30:38 +0000 UTCSorry for spamming the chat but I've been thinking about more ideas namely: 1. I hope that Para's will be able to get a cold/flu (not anything as devastating as what we all are experiencing now of course!) but i just think that having a cold/flu could determine if a para child can't go to school because they are sick and that leads to consequence with grades etc..Same for Para adults who can't go to work because they are sick....It also doesn't need to be a cold/flu, It could be a tummy bug or a your Para child got hurt while playing etc... 2. Eating different foods should affect your health and body in someway 3. Pregnant para's should have the different stages of pregnancy and how it starts to affect their bodies - They should also be able to work while pregnant, until they get to a stage where they no longer can work. I also think they should get an option at work where they can take a form of maternity leave( but obviously not a crazy amount of days). I also think that having goals that the parents needs to complete during the pregnancy would be cool as well. 4. Infants/babies and Toddlers: I would like for infants/babies not to be an object first of all - Also what would be nice is if they are born with hair and you are able to dress them up( being able to go to the store to buy them clothes, this could tie into one of the goals the parents would need to do before baby arrives? - If you could also throw a baby shower, guest could give baby clothes as a gift etc.. As for toddlers I hope giving a pacifier will be an option (maybe to help with calming down the toddler if they are in a particular mood). I also hope Para parents has the option to go and make a bottle for the Toddler and also for the infant/baby as well..Also I hope changing tables will be a thing as well. Para Parents should teach toddlers essential skills like talking, walking (toddlers should go through a phase where they crawl first and then start walking), potty training etc.. 5. I really love how you introduced eco-friendly things, I hope more gets added like buying water storage units that capture water during raining conditions - Para's will be able to recycle that water in their homes and therefore it will aid towards a lower house bill? 6. It would be awesome if the town had a mystery around it's origins (nothing supernatural or anything like that) but it would be cool if we end up finding things around town that helps paints a bigger picture of how it came about?? 7. Since there is going to be different ethnicities, what could be cool is if Para's could learn different things from the different Para ethnicities? 8. If there is going to be holidays in the game - I hope it will become like an event day, hopefully you can decorate your house accordingly (other NPC para's also have to decorate) , be able to throw theme parties and have custom food associated with that event. i also hope you will be able to do fun activities with the family - Especially kids ( Special holidays is a memorable event and it affects kids most, it's something they can reminisce about when they are older?) These are just some of the ideas I thought about. I know some people have mentioned some of these things already - But I just wanted to mention it again Also I know that not everything we mention is possible, but like most of the people say it really is nice just being able to mention these ideas and the fact that you guys are considering some of them is really awesome and epic. Paralives team is really awesome and I wish you all the success and I know we are going to be happy with whatever you guys decide to include.

2020-04-23 16:27:42 +0000 UTCI'd love to see a clothing store that opens and closes like able sisters, Like maybe the store in town would open at 10am game time, and then close at 9pm game time, and maybe close when there are events happening E.G Christmas day etc.

2020-04-23 16:04:08 +0000 UTCI really love all of this.

2020-04-23 15:04:33 +0000 UTCI love the solar power and wind turbines and that they won't just be decor but actually functional by lowing the electric bill. More items like that would be great. Function not just decor. Maybe like choosing whether a home has central air or do they have one of those window AC box units the same for the heater I grow up with a kerosene heater in home to keep warm in the winter. SO it would be cool to see that it came. Or even something simple like a fruit basket that you can eat from and then can be restocked. In addition to that just hoping while it is an open world and I know jobs and I believe schools with be rabbit hole it would be nice if everything else is interactive like the shops, restaurants, going to the movies, etc.
2020-04-23 14:59:08 +0000 UTCWOW. That looks amazing and I cannot wait for the next post. As for gameplay, I'm sort of the player who focuses on the character's career and skills. I hope the careers (and the schools) are something more interactive rather than just teleporting into the rabbit hole. For example, I wish them to be more of the detective rather than the businessman in Ts4. I love pretty much all the ideas that people shared in this thread! I know some are unlikely to be in the game since they are too complicated, but I appreciate that you and your team are open to listening to our voices.

2020-04-23 14:49:21 +0000 UTCThat would be so cool if your friend could visit your world - And to make it more interesting maybe different things spawn in everyday and you have something that your friend might want so they can visit to get that item/thing

2020-04-23 14:40:05 +0000 UTCI like games where the character can gain traits over time by repeating certain actions. Or change their traits. For example, if you keep being mean, you earn a mean trait. Or if you keep watching tv and not working out, you become a couch potato. Also, being able to commit real crimes that make the city more crime-infested. Or if you organize a beach cleanup with your friends the cleanliness of the city you live in goes up.... And finally some option for co-op that can be separate from regular game play..
2020-04-23 12:22:00 +0000 UTCI'd really like a move involved crafting system for thinks like cooking, painting, etc. Make sure we have the resources we need to actually do the thing. (and better motivations to collect). Give us a reason to go shopping, or explore the world more. Some the worlds in the sims 4 look great, but I don't look at them because I spend all my time at home.
2020-04-23 11:55:12 +0000 UTCmaybe for the gardening system, it could be more realistic like in Stardew Valley. so you would have to water your plants every day (or often so it doesn't become too tedious), for the fruit, veggies and flowers it would take longer to be able to harvest and not be an everyday occurrence + it could depend on the plant and how long it takes between every harvest. moreover, some plants will be able to regrow after harvest and some won't and you would have to replant them (i am thinking that you would have to replant potatoes, but not strawberries as they come from a bush). using your own harvest in cooking would also be really cool and maybe the parafolk could get a special buff from it? obviously also the implementation of seasonal plants, but i feel that's rather a given :)
2020-04-23 11:37:15 +0000 UTCI was thinking about your question. And I really liked how in "Life Is Strange" your decisions had a small influence. It didn't change the progress in a big way, but had an influence on wording in dialogue, a poster being on the wall or not, a plushie appearing in Max's room or not. And there was even a homeless lady you could warn about the storm and if you did she'd be gone in the next chapter, and I think when you don't warn her there's a cutscene with her as a victim of the storm in the background in the end. It's small things like that, that make decisions feel like they matter, even if they don't do so on the grand scheme of things.
2020-04-23 11:12:21 +0000 UTCI think certain quests would be so cool to do!! ofcourse that also fit the life simulation but quests in skyrim style would be so cool or if you are a secret agent, you would actually have to go into a building and be super stealthy!
2020-04-23 10:49:26 +0000 UTCyaa... Love you guys!
2020-04-23 10:41:56 +0000 UTCOMG! This Green Energy is fantastic, I love it. @Alex, as you ask, I believ you enjoy RPG, and Fram games (or both together), I love these games, I know you (and the girls <3) gonna work in the abilities including gardening... But, please, think in idea of little missions to do in the game, like a history, maybe, special NPCs.
2020-04-23 10:41:30 +0000 UTCLooooove the green energy additions. Yes and yes.
2020-04-23 09:54:36 +0000 UTCI love the idea of a cut-scene for moving out! Some acknowledgement on people moving out/in would be cool.
2020-04-23 09:53:10 +0000 UTCI think cutscenes or just striking animation to make moments like childbirth, marriage, the first kiss/time, moving out etc. feel big and different from other, less important actions.
2020-04-23 09:41:36 +0000 UTCBtw I'm new here and I'm already amazed.
2020-04-23 09:25:08 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of Bitlife and I think that game is a good example for you guys.
2020-04-23 09:24:33 +0000 UTCOmg. This is great! I particularly love eco-friendly stuffs. It's amazing to imagine that our paras would be as conscious about the environment as we want to be.
2020-04-23 09:20:37 +0000 UTCI adore Ark: Survival Evolved, so I want domesticated dinosaurs !!! ...Well, I had to try :P In truth I think Paralives would be a lot of fun if it grabbed ideas from games that are nothing at all like it. For instance, Rimworld & Prison Architect both have variations of implementing a schedule for survivors/inmates as groups and/or individuals. It makes sense to me in a game like Paralives, because you manage a whole household where characters don't necessarily have the same lifestyle (parents probably go to bed later than kids, for instance). It's particularly useful in Rimworld & Prison Architect because you don't do it from each character's settings, but on a schedule/regime screen that gives you a global view of how everyone behaves.

2020-04-23 09:20:25 +0000 UTCI loved the social ideas in A Tale In The Desert. Yeah, it's an old game, but the social ideas around it, the need to work as a team to achieve individual goals and the fact that they tried to use graphics to depict skills like glass-making etc that actually required player skill, were things that I've seen vaguely mimicked, but I still haven't seen matched since.
Fran Smith
2020-04-23 09:12:54 +0000 UTCI keep thinking it would be fun if Paralives partnered with some other indie devs to have their games be playable by parafolk in Paralives. (sort of like how EA games are playable in Sims games) Sure I guess it's "placed advertising" but at least it's fun "placed advertising". :p

2020-04-23 08:14:28 +0000 UTCBitlife - I know its not a life simulation game but i think some of the game mechanics is cool, especially when it comes to decision making that would influence how you go through life

2020-04-23 07:54:57 +0000 UTCWith the turbine and solar panel, could it be an option to "sell" energy if you generate more than your Para uses?

2020-04-23 07:49:50 +0000 UTCYess! I love the idea of traits having an influence on how parafolk interact with the environment and other paras around them.
2020-04-23 07:46:39 +0000 UTCIdeas from other games: a survival mode
2020-04-23 07:28:42 +0000 UTCWhile I can’t remember the game, was a mobile high school game I played years ago, it had personality clashes, particularly for teens and kids if I were to see it in Paralives. Shy/Wallflower characters in the game had trouble interacting with popular and charismatic characters. Popular characters often intimidated and scared off shy ones. Jocks/Nerds, Art/Idk the faction against the art types. But the personalities of some thrived together, like Popular and Jocks, and so on. While I’m sure the game won’t have such polarizing “classes” of people I think some traits if they get any should have conflicts or boons with paired with certain other traits, or at lease have interesting reactions lmao. I personally love opposites attracting, and would love if they actually felt like opposites in the game and required more work to work.

2020-04-23 07:23:05 +0000 UTCI hope Para's will be able to do multiple tasks at the same time

2020-04-23 07:12:10 +0000 UTCThis is so awesome!! Yassss for clean living!! I love the little quests in Stardew Valley that you can do for the villagers. Like bringing something over for dinner or bringing your neighbour a a few veggies. You guys are so amazing. Love from Australia ❤️❤️
2020-04-23 07:09:33 +0000 UTCSo true, I like your idea
Bianca J
2020-04-23 07:06:24 +0000 UTCI love the idea of parking spaces in public places! It will add more to the gameplay experience than having the car in the inventory.

2020-04-23 06:58:55 +0000 UTCThese look awesome! I’m super excited for the game!! Some elements I really like in games like animal crossing is ‘mini objecives’ in games! Like how you catch bugs, fish, and fossils and fill up the cities Museum! If you get double ups you can sell them for currency! Then you can visit it and see what you have collected! Being able to do stuff in the game that actually contributes to the overall story! I find with other simulation games sometimes I start a new game every time I play because my current game didn’t have meaningful progress that can’t be done again in 5 minutes you know? Even though they are often sandbox style games, objectives help give direction and keep the game moving which I like!
2020-04-23 06:52:41 +0000 UTCI’m curious if other para (from not-played family) who has a relationship with our para will be able to ask to be for example “best friends forever”, “boyfriend”, “girlfriend”, “wife”, etc. It can appear a window on our screens to decide if we want to go to next level with relationship. I really don’t like when our character has to asks everyone about everything and nobody asks him.
Julka
2020-04-23 06:24:09 +0000 UTCI would love to see mini-games you can play if you want to when you interact with certain objects such as games in your phone while you try to sleep or watering plants or plating your food, that would be fun I think another thing would be interesting is the ability to break stuff and fix them, like light bulbs, window panes, and plates ps, I can't tell you how much I'm excited about this game
2020-04-23 05:56:28 +0000 UTCI think part of the weirdness is that some stuff in the sims takes an accurate amount of 'real' time and some stuff in the sims takes an accurate amount of 'sims' time. Walking from one side of a house to another can take 15 in-game minutes even though it looks like you're moving at a normal speed.
2020-04-23 05:25:30 +0000 UTCAdd weather damage for your house exterior. Like for example, every 3rd in-game years, your house gets small wind and water damage on the house paint, so you have to spend money on repainting your house. And if you don't you will get more and bigger damages after another 3 years. You can also hire a professional to do it for you.

2020-04-23 05:05:02 +0000 UTCAhhh every update is so exciting!! Honestly haven't been hyped for a simulation game like this since I was 10 🥰

2020-04-23 04:54:44 +0000 UTCOh another thing I love about Animal Crossing, is the donating system of fossils, fish and bugs...I think how the museum ends up being populated is just awesome to see - I don't know, maybe somehow this is a career?
Bianca J
2020-04-23 04:44:10 +0000 UTCAs for the eco-friendly elements, I absolutely love it and how it could be used to lower your bills...Could something be added for water as well?
Bianca J
2020-04-23 04:35:53 +0000 UTCAnimal crossing - being able to share something and other Para's do actually make use of it. I also like how in animal crossing the NPC animals on your island still update their homes, so if that can be incorporated into Paralives somehow that could be aweosme.
Bianca J
2020-04-23 04:32:22 +0000 UTCI love this, looks like I will be able to make myself, including my hip dips. Which never seems to be an option
2020-04-23 03:47:20 +0000 UTCIf friends are currently fighting you can encourage them to make up or cut off the friendship
Kasia
2020-04-23 02:58:29 +0000 UTCTomodachi life: paras close to you will ask you for relationship advice (platonic/romantic) involving another para. You can either support an action based on their question (should I marry them/should we break up/what do you think of us as friends) or discourage the relationship. This action will reduce/increase relationship levels for the two paras and maybe encourage them to take the next step to ask for marriage/break up, etc
Kasia
2020-04-23 02:57:13 +0000 UTCoh i only just thought of this but are those solar panels able to go on roofs?
Ella Pilchik
2020-04-23 02:56:50 +0000 UTCanimal crossing: NPC missions like babysitting requests or request to bring a certain food to a party. Close friends in public will run up to you happily if they spot you
Kasia
2020-04-23 02:33:33 +0000 UTCMiitopia: having a strong enough bond with someone allows for special actions where your character can protect someone from danger and other such boons

2020-04-23 02:32:39 +0000 UTCSuggestions from other games you say? Tomodachi Life: news station run by other NPCs that report on silly or serious events that occurred to the town residents. Allows us to see some story progression. Maybe you can tune into a news station for updates.

2020-04-23 02:23:31 +0000 UTCOne last comment on this post, lol. MEMORIES! I need Parafolk to have memories and react to stuff based on their past experiences! This was so helpful in Sims 2 gameplay and it will help with gameplay so much!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-23 02:22:06 +0000 UTCWe do need more options when it comes to Paras living a life of crime. For example a para can be good at technology, he can use his talent to work for a Technology company or become a hacker.
Simmons
2020-04-23 02:08:24 +0000 UTCSo I have a hard time recreating other people including myself in simulation games. Maybe create a tool where we can upload a photo inside the paramaker and be able to overlay it over the paras face to use it as a guide to shape the face precisely. So now making yourself, family, Celebrities, etc will be easier. It doesn’t have to be this exact method but I think it would be nice to have a tool that would make creating real life people easier for those who don’t quite have an eye for free handing it.
Simmons
2020-04-23 02:03:06 +0000 UTCi can't wait for it
2020-04-23 01:55:42 +0000 UTCAlmost forgot. Love the peeks and I'm so excited to play your game. All of you are doing amazing work and no matter what I'm going to buy the game!!! Maybe even give it as gifts to other people!! Thank you for bringing us something new and exciting. Fan for life!!!

2020-04-23 01:51:04 +0000 UTCI love the reactions from Animal crossing and having different reactions would be a great feature. So if my para likes/dislikes/jealous/(etc) someone, I would see their reaction and it would disappear. Like when their best friend drops by they are happy to see them unless they are sad. If someone angers my para, I want them to feel it and if the other para doesn't apologize then everytime my para sees or hears their name they get angry.
Maxayn Henderson
2020-04-23 01:47:18 +0000 UTCSomething from other games is a storyline. For example...your parafolk meets someone and has the option for a love story or a heartbreak story. So your para could daydream about the other para and maybe gush to their friend or sibling (if a teen).
Maxayn Henderson
2020-04-23 01:42:56 +0000 UTCHmmmm. From other games... I suppose having the option to create your town? Like skylines. Placing/building houses. Being able to put lakes, roads, shops, trees, parks etc in. And having the ocean and forests would be cool. Who doesn’t like a good forest. Tbh.. my dream game is grand theft auto mixed with simulation. Or even Detroit become human was a great game. Fulfilling you characters needs... but also being able to drive the car, go to the golf course, play tennis, go to the cinema, ((strip clubs)) swim in the beach... being in control of one character and being able to move them around like they do in GTA. Being able to drive, having to stop for lights, stop signs, being pulled over If going too fast, etc. and going for your drivers test as a teen. Having the option to break into houses, stealing things from shops if you are unable to afford things, and being arrested. Having fines and going to jail for like 5 min. The worse the crime the more the sentence. I know.... that’s not what this game is. But simulation games are way too kid friendly. Having addictions like drinking, smoking, gaming, food. Etc. where the addictions form if the person partakes in the activity too often. And getting them off the addiction takes time and they are sad/angry/sick for that time. And being able to be there with your sims while they work. If they are a doctor, being able to perform operations etc. putting someone on a machine and being cured is boooooooring. Cute jobs like barista, baker, yoga instructor, landscaper, police officer/ pilot, train conductor, pet trainer... cool “different” jobs that you can get involved in.. if you want. Talking in English would be a good change. But I know it would be hard to do. And when it comes to babies... I feel like more interactions with them would be good. Parents have their babies all the time when they’re not fast asleep in their crib. Breastfeeding on the couch, having the option to sit/ watch tv with your sleeping baby. Being able to go for a walk with the baby in the pram with 1-3 dogs attached to it (: I can’t think of any other games I’d incorporate, too many people want too many things. Everyone’s idea of the “perfect Game” is totally different. I’m glad you’re asking people for ideas. Really listening to them. I think you doing this will help make this game a very popular one. I think people are just looking for a fun creative challenge that has attention to detail (: well done guys, keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
2020-04-23 01:33:35 +0000 UTCLike having some of the paras walk pigeon toed or duck footed. At least that’s what we call it in the states lol

2020-04-23 01:26:55 +0000 UTCalso please include cheats in the game because im definitely a "motherlode" sim player😂😬
2020-04-23 01:25:23 +0000 UTCI forgot what technique they’re using but it’s not ray tracing.
Simmons
2020-04-23 01:22:52 +0000 UTCI think I would like an actual story mode. It doesn’t have to be huge, but tasks you have to do to unveil secrets about the town and it’s people. Also cut scenes would be nice! That’s all I can think of for now, time to play some games to draw some inspiration!
Simmons
2020-04-23 01:21:42 +0000 UTCI wrote it in another post but ill put it here too! Also you guy are doing amazing. Seeing the game evolve and constantly improve is so exciting. We appreciate you guys! ❤️ -occult parafolks/options (mermaids, witches, werewolves, fairies, ghosts) -farming/ farm animals -raccoons/rats/bugs to make it more realistic -attending schools/colleges/etc -traveling/vacations/islands -hotels/motels/resorts -shopping/malls/spas -amusementpark, fairs, carnival, rides -surfing/skateboarding -adoption(babies/pets) -zoos/aquariums/wild life
2020-04-23 01:19:17 +0000 UTCThis is kinda long so please bear with me lol (not sure if this uploaded the first time or not so I’ll repost it) Having paras (active and NPCs) be able to notice when neighbors move in or out, and notice when the homes go up for sale or notice when a new house is built and is also for sale they can click on the home and call a realtor to buy it or “tour” the home before they buy it. Be able to have parking spaces in town on the side of the streets like parallel parking or parking lots, where the car automatically goes when they arrive at a lot. These gameplay idea are from other games: Be able to order/rent a car to drive and it shows up in a parking space, having different car view angles when driving and using the radio, cars stopping for pedestrians crossing streets, being able to drive or park through in alleyways to avoid traffic, cars stopping for stop lights. Maybe this could all be an opt in/out feature to simulate live traffic vs no traffic when paras drive. In we happy few theres a gameplay feature which I think would be interesting, that allows you to be able to go inside other peoples homes and sneak in places where public access is not allowed whether they’re at home or not. So you can sneak in when they’re there and sneak in when they’re sleep. If you get caught they call the police or the character gets mad and comes after you, and you are then able to hide in places so they can’t find you if you get in trouble (for example: under beds, in bathrooms, regular room if you lock the door behind you,and trash cans). You’re also able to take items from other peoples kitchen cabinets and fridges, including items from their drawers/wardrobe,bookshelves, and find secret journals or letters written and take them. On Nintendo switch there’s this game called Rain City a cute game feature that allows you to play a mini game when you have your character play video games. Red dead redemption had a cute interactive cut scene where you could pay to go to shows at the theatre and watch magicians and comedy while Arthur and his date sat in the seats. I think it’d be cool for a future feature for music concerts or plays. Answering some questions like episode, maybe for when paras text each other or in certain scenarios like a job interview etc.

2020-04-23 00:58:39 +0000 UTCI know that’s another Sims request but I feel like maybe it’s one that’s not as popular? Perhaps that’s why it’s not in the Sims 4.

2020-04-23 00:48:23 +0000 UTCBoth updates are great! Can’t wait to see the Paras! I like the memory book from Sims 3 (I think Sims 2 had it too?) You could look back on major life moments without having to screenshot everything. Although you could add in your own memories too.

2020-04-23 00:21:22 +0000 UTCI would love to see some form of playable CCG or game ingame which can put two paras one against each other to determine a winner (like VoidCritters in TS4). I usually use this to determine a heir or as a way to make SAW like stories :)
2020-04-23 00:20:34 +0000 UTCWill paralives have raytracing support? And babies that aren't objects :3 Keep up the good work it's looking awesome already!
2020-04-23 00:17:48 +0000 UTCLoving everything so far! One thing i'd love to see implemented is having paras carry themselves differently, the way they stand and walk should, in my opinion, be different from one another, not in a goofy way like the sims, but little details like that would again, imo, make the game even better than it already appears to be. Love you guys and ty for your hard work!
2020-04-23 00:16:41 +0000 UTCThere is a mod for sims 3 that does this. You can find it on mod the sims if you search third person.

2020-04-22 23:48:44 +0000 UTCI seen a comment some where talking about paras having notability? I think that’d be cool! Like having 5 senses or being able to notice their surroundings in town or around others Like sight, hearing, smell, etc. I’m not explaining it right but hopefully I made sense with that 😅 lol. Update! found the post I seen it on the hub called ‘Paras having ‘5 senses’: Like they can smell food when passing by restaurants, get distracted if there’s lots of noise and they’re trying to study, lots are louder if there’s more people in them/on the lot, paras notice when they’re in a new part of town (being able to get lost), paras remembering lot locations and more it’s a long post

2020-04-22 23:19:38 +0000 UTCI love your idea! Yes. I hope shops are more functional unlike the Sims which is a nightmare. I’m very curious to know how shops will work with Parafolks 🙂

2020-04-22 23:11:57 +0000 UTCI agree with some others about making money harder to get, maybe have difficulty modes for money earning? I like to play legacy families, and I enjoy struggling for money and really feeling like I earned my wealth 🙂

2020-04-22 23:07:41 +0000 UTCI just want to have to go to a store (or order online and wait for delivery) to get clothes, and to a hairdresser to get a haircut (or cut it yourself in front of the mirror and have it come out awful lol) and to be able to like knit and sew stuff 🙏

2020-04-22 23:05:31 +0000 UTCThis!! And make the world feel like the other Paras are actually "alive" ie form relationships, have babies etc and not just on standby on case we want to interact with them 🤷

2020-04-22 22:59:08 +0000 UTCI think some people might have mentioned this but, i really liked the story modes in the sims 2, like life stories and castaway's. and the spin off games on other consoles. having an optional story mode would be fun. Public transport would also be nice, like trains. I also like the idea of houses next to trains causing noise and shaking problems. Something I think would be nice is a sort of memory system that effects how the sim interacts with life. Like, the sim didn't have a good relationship with parents so they worry about being a parent themselves, or they have had a few breakups and divorces and so have a very hard time falling in love.

2020-04-22 22:50:03 +0000 UTCI've always wanted to control my sims with the wasd keys, the point and click has been okay but wasd would encourage more exploring since your screen is focused on your para rather than the location you clicked
2020-04-22 22:28:02 +0000 UTCLooking great guys! The first thing I can think of from AC that I would like to see here is the ability switch to an optional direct character control mode for paras, pets and vehicles. I understand that this is not a current focus of the game, but it would certainly help with immersion for people that prefer to play the game just with one sim/para. The second thing would be the ability to build/place usable shops/buildings/junkyards/car dealerships that you can enter to find a daily random selection of used (discounted) items (Or buffed/debuffed/unique in some way) that you wouldn't otherwise be able to just enter buy mode and purchase, or can but at a more expensive price. Another thing is collectibles. This is probably something that was already being worked on with the game being so heavily influenced by TS3, but collecting things like stones, gems, flora, small creatures, insects, fish and being able to sell them or display them in your home would do a lot for exploration. And finally, its a really long shot and I don't want it to be the focus of the game before or at launch at all, but maybe a way down the line post launch update or something. Having the ability to be able to visit your friend's towns and explore/trade items with them in a limited mode just like in AC. Thanks guys!
2020-04-22 22:26:35 +0000 UTCthat’s a great idea! made me think maybe they should be able to makeover/build different rooms one by one and each costs different kind of how it would in real life. so if you want to go ahead and renovate the whole thing you can, or you can start with the kitchen per say and wait until you get more money to do the rest.

2020-04-22 22:24:17 +0000 UTCSort of pulling from the idea of House Flipper. What if when we go into say the build mode and we do our thing, we redesign the house, extend it etc. But when we exit build mode, our para does a quick building animation or something that makes it look like it was the one that just made the extension, or painted that wall etc? Just to add a bit of difference. Or perhaps the para have to maintain the house in order for it to still look nice either themselves or hire a maintenance person to refresh their house. This would be cool as it means the house doesn't look brand new permanently.

2020-04-22 22:18:58 +0000 UTCI agree! I would love to see a transition of weather be smoother than automatically start and stop you’d see the sky gradually change and the clouds. Also moon phases too in the night sky maybe some stars appear some nights and other nights it doesn’t. It’d be nice to have different affects depending on the time of day like foggy mornings or even foggy late evenings on the grass

2020-04-22 21:53:35 +0000 UTCI play a gaame called My Time at Portia, and one thing that i love about this game is that you can build and create things that can help improve the life in Portia (the Town). Is a really cool aspect of the game and i enjoy it so much cuz i feel like im part of the liveliness of the town. Even just being able to take comisions from the townies feels awesome, and i love the feling that im helping them out with something they need. I know this game is another type of game that centers in that creating aspect but i think having some mechanics like this will be awesome. Like beeing able to take some request for a neighbor to build them something or even repairing something they need. Is just an idea, but i know it might be dificult to make it posible so no worries, i already love the game just how it looks :)
2020-04-22 21:49:14 +0000 UTCAn attraction system where attraction (physical) can affect job opportunities, character interaction, popularity etc and not just dating life haha. So less "attractive" character, find it harder to make friends/go far in career and vise versa. oh and character compatibility so the less compatible with someone, the harder to make friends with them xD. I feel alot of simulation games, lack dynamics with character interaction
2020-04-22 21:47:57 +0000 UTCSo excited! Good luck to you guys with future work!
2020-04-22 21:35:47 +0000 UTCI'm not pulling from other games in this case (I actually don't know any games that do this), but it would be really interesting if the parafolks' emotions and habits somewhat affected their health — and vice versa. For example, a para who is always stressed and tired could get sick more frequently, get acne or dark circles under their eyes, and become forgetful (there was a trait I loved from The Sims 3 called Absent-Minded that caused sims to randomly cancel actions. Sometimes they'd walk into a room and just stand there, confused, because they'd "forgotten" what they were about to do). Another example of this: if a para is really messy — leaving dishes out, not taking showers, being surrounded by trash and clutter — eventually they will begin to feel depressed and have trouble focusing on work or school because their environment is so unpleasant. Things like this could also affect their social life, sleep quality, skill building, or interests.

2020-04-22 21:33:26 +0000 UTCThank you for working so hard on this game. I only hope to be able to play my legacy challenges...like midevil. I could create cemeteries.. yes?

2020-04-22 21:30:26 +0000 UTCIn the Sims, if you want something, you just put a cheat in and "poof" you have it. I want playing the game to actually (have the option to?) be a challenge, because if I know I can cheat I'll just do that instead. It's like I can't stop myself. I simply enjoy games more when cheats are less powerful or too much effort to use or just not included. A possible work around would be a sandbox mode vs a gameplay mode where you have to work to get what you want. Perhaps even difficulty levels. If cheats just aren't allowed in gameplay or a mode of it, that would prevent me from boring myself to tears.

2020-04-22 21:24:05 +0000 UTCI know you’re not planning to go online.. but some sort of a friend code to invite friends to your house. Also what I like a lot is “terra forming” editing the whole map you’re living in
2020-04-22 21:16:29 +0000 UTCOh also! Separate banks account! Maybe having the option to have a joint account? Or give child and teens allowance each week (maybe with the option that if they do chore?) Also, in sims 2, we could go grocerie shopping or call to have some food in the fridge. I remember having to go because my fridge was empty and I kinda miss that. Maybe also the beds. In sims 4, we lost the ability to make the beds and I really miss that. Also, will it have little animations with it? Like 2 sims cuddling in it while sleeping, or if they had a fight, back to back and kinda grumpy? Maybe if they have kids, the kids could jump on the bed to wake them up?
2020-04-22 21:11:34 +0000 UTCAlex answered this before. I believe he did say that he wants gardening in and he does like the idea of farming in game but it is something that won't be in at launch but maybe post launch.
2020-04-22 21:00:52 +0000 UTCplease allow the option for separate household bank accounts. i often would like to play roommates , but dont want to have them sharing money since i like to somtimes play without unrealistic stuff. **and you already said you were considering this before** BUT, i REALLY would like an option to only play as 1 family member (not just roommates) i know its a new idea, but sometimes for story purposes i only want to be in control of one person at a time. And possibly be able to switch between which one im controlling.
2020-04-22 20:59:54 +0000 UTCdefinitely like this!
2020-04-22 20:58:56 +0000 UTCI like the idea of having optional "quests" and "activities" for our paras. Maybe a neighbor will ask you to bring them a couple of eggs or will invite you and your family over to dinner. Maybe you will get invited to a cookout and will bring some hotdogs. I love playing Stardew Valley because I get quests that I can complete when I want to. Doing these quests will improve my relationship with other people and can give me certain recipes, supplies, etc. Anything to liven up the town/community and give you more things to do. It gets boring when you only go to work, cook dinner, use the bathroom, and then it's the next day. When not only your characters but others in the town also have wants, needs, fears, jobs, etc. it makes it a lot more fun to play and makes you want to make relationships with others. Different ages could have different quirks, wants, interests, etc. 😊
2020-04-22 20:55:41 +0000 UTCI'm really excited to see what the parafolks will look like! :) !answer to your guestion:Only things that I can Think of right now:-garden plants could over grow and you would need to take care of them (bushes, flowerbeds, trees?) (can be turned of in the settings for those who don't want that).-wild flower collecting -you could search garden seeds and mushrooms from the forest,-flower hybrids?,-flower crowns?
Osby,ossisims
2020-04-22 20:49:50 +0000 UTCCould our Parafolks be invited to spend the night at their friends houses sometimes? Or be invited to weddings? Or parties? Like actual events that are actually happening? lol
2020-04-22 20:46:54 +0000 UTCDays in sims feel really short. Like not enough daylight time. Daytime is my favorite. In the sims 1 real life second, equaled one minute in the sims world. Thats too quick. So if we could have time pass slower in Paralives that would be nice.
2020-04-22 20:43:01 +0000 UTCCan we please have farming! A developed farming and gardening system that can be sold at a market would be so nice
Brie
2020-04-22 20:39:34 +0000 UTCThank you Alex - We Stan eco friendliness! As for other games, in Stardew Valley, when your needs go too low in the caves you pass out and someone has to take you back to your farm and you’re charged a fine. I would love to see a feature where if you have too little sleep or food or water (if hydration will be a need in Paralives which I hope so cause drinking water is essential lol), and you are also in public, you pass out and wake up outside a clinic or hospital and have to pay a bill + taxi to take you home! Also you would have to lose at least 3-6 hours of the day, if it’s night then the game automatically goes to the next morning? If you have kids or babies they will be sent to daycare until you return home safely. Hope you guys are well!
Joanna Hinds
2020-04-22 20:38:32 +0000 UTCI love how big you can make the thighs! What will sliders for arms look like? I always wish I could give my sims properly chubby arms! In terms of game play I'd really like parafolks personality to be shaped more by the way they're raised. The way they solve their problems, the things they're good at, what upsets them, etc.
Luciana Keil
2020-04-22 20:34:35 +0000 UTChey! sorry for some reason I can't go back to my comment so I'll answer your question here: maybe lawyers and nurses/bankers was a bad example and did not reflect very well what I meant hahahaha So I'll say sth more general, maybe parafolks whose jobs are extremely different would have prejudice about each other, but then they could of course become friends. I hate comparing with the sims 4, but I always thought it was weird that you could have a detective and a criminal hanging out as if nothing?
Emma-Lisa Roux
2020-04-22 20:30:09 +0000 UTCI would love a chemistry system and an attraction system! Like a parafolk can look around them and deside if they find someone attractive, and then when they talk to them can deside if they have good chemistry through communication!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 20:25:47 +0000 UTCId like if Parafolks could multitask and act natural. Like grabbing a throw blanket and relaxing on the couch, possibly with a book. And lounge with their feet up or lie down and watch tv on the couch, not always sitting straight up like robots. And if Parafolks could sit on the sofa and hold their children/babies in their lap, in the sims they can only hold their children while standing. Stiffness makes life simulations feel less likelike. I'd like Parafolks to act and move more human-like.
2020-04-22 20:24:22 +0000 UTCLove these!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 20:22:50 +0000 UTCi could see this being useful, but only if those also come with some form of a reward.
2020-04-22 20:16:34 +0000 UTCI Really would like if Parafolk could pick up & rearrange SOME (not all) objects in their environment.
2020-04-22 20:13:58 +0000 UTCThis is a good one.

2020-04-22 20:05:36 +0000 UTCThis looks fantastic! If we're suggesting features from other games how about a museum like Animal Crossing? All the collectibles could have little bits of history behind them.
McGruff
2020-04-22 20:01:03 +0000 UTCSeconding the story mode suggestion! I adored that game too!
Stefanie
2020-04-22 20:00:53 +0000 UTCRandomized elements, like "quests" that unlock features of the game that are only accessible if you talk to a randomized NPC or something.
Stefanie
2020-04-22 19:58:21 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if it's a "feature" per se, but I would like for there to be goals to work toward. Not just "spin plates, get rich, have babies, and die." Goals, quests, achievements, something like that. Something that is an actual challenge.
Beth Anne
2020-04-22 19:55:47 +0000 UTCI definitely want mortgages. It would be best if sims could also rent a residence. As people do all the time IRL.
2020-04-22 19:53:10 +0000 UTCMy two biggest things would be the “gallery” type thing, where you can use other people’s creations ! Some of us want nice houses but don’t feel like building it ourselves haha. AND CRIME ! (Unfortunate events) What happens if somebody is mad and they decide to randomly pick a fight with your para ? Fight or flight ? Burglary too! Getting struck by lightening. Getting sick and needing a doctors visit. Kids falling down and needing bandaids/attention from parents. Vandalism ! Do we let it slide, bc they are just teens ? Or call the cops ? P.S. I love love love the wind turbine and solar panel ! 😍 It’s exactly what my environmentalist para will need!
PixelPerfect
2020-04-22 19:51:03 +0000 UTCI loved Sims 2 Castaway! An expansion like that in the future would be so cool! I would love the idea of a story mode in expansions
2020-04-22 19:49:22 +0000 UTCIn sims, all you have to do to fix that is type in the cheat code. :) I think they just do that to make sure everything functions properly for the average player. But it takes less than 15 seconds to take that feature away !
PixelPerfect
2020-04-22 19:45:39 +0000 UTCOne more thing, I would be great if objects wouldn’t “snap” to slots like they do in the sims. Like in the sims it limits how close objects can be and also where an object can be placed. I’m so glad we can adjust windows in Paralives. We will truly be able to build whatever house we want to!
2020-04-22 19:42:30 +0000 UTCOne thing I love that animal crossing has is the home loans so you can enjoy your home while paying it off. I think it could be really awesome and more realistic for paras to start out with a home loan that they would have a mortgage on. I also so enjoy all the animated objects in the game. Like being able to interact with things is so fun even simply being able to bounce the yoga ball, hear and see my washing machine slosh around, etc. It's definitely the little details that I find myself super excited about when it comes to animal crossing (:
2020-04-22 19:41:20 +0000 UTCI want Paralives to be different than the sims , so if we could avoid forcing players to choose a lifetime Aspiration , that would be great. I’m looking for a less regimented game and one that’s more focused on experiencing the world , rather than planning everything out. Play the character and allow their personality and characters to drive the game instead. I hope the UI is really simple too. Also, would like to not have any sort of “plum bobs “ or cursors over their heads . Instead you know which Parafolk you’re controlling because their photo on the UI could be highlighted or something.
2020-04-22 19:40:03 +0000 UTCI would love this! Politics (made in a funny way) could be fun. For example, people could run campaigns around something like "I promise to fight for frog toad rights" or something silly like that. They could do fundraiser events to raise money for their campaigns. Once elections come up, evil Paras could bribe the vote counters or hack the system if they have enough skills, etc. During their campaign, Paras (good or evil) could be presented with pop up situations in which they are asked what they would like to do in the situation, and that could affect the outcome. The crime rate thing could be related to home burglars (like the sims), violent acts (such as fighting), the mayor's policies (as u mentioned), etc.
2020-04-22 19:39:34 +0000 UTCOMGOSH, thank you for sharing. It make's my heart jump. I also am a huge fan of Animal Crossing. Have you ever played state of decay? To see a zombie mode gameplay, would be so epic....
2020-04-22 19:37:34 +0000 UTCBIg YES! to food delivery. It makes for cute storytelling possibilities.
2020-04-22 19:35:08 +0000 UTCLawyers and nurses don’t like banks? 🏦 I’m confused lol...
2020-04-22 19:34:58 +0000 UTCBeing able to have family pictures up around the house.
Alani Mason-Callaway
2020-04-22 19:31:30 +0000 UTCNo I like food 🥘 delivery too!
2020-04-22 19:27:19 +0000 UTCHopefully Paralives will come with babies who have a crawling stage. That is the most adorable baby 🍼 stage of all. Other things that I would like to see would be children who can pick up babies and put them on their hip. Lifelike touches like that are really endearing.
2020-04-22 19:23:19 +0000 UTCI’m sure you’ve already mentioned this somewhere, but I love the storage function, especially relating to clothing/accessories you’ve bought! I love that added function of being able to purchase things and wear them like that, and not just having everything from the get go.
2020-04-22 19:22:49 +0000 UTCCatching bugs and small critters, fishing, collectibles, giving and receiving gifts to paras in your family and outwith your family too (similar to Animal Crossing) I know this might be ambitious but would it be possible to decide what time individual paras tend to go to bed and wake up? Maybe via an alarm clock interface? Would be cool to set a basic morning and bedtime routine too so that you could tell your para to get ready for bed and they’d automatically say goodnight to their family, brush their teeth or maybe read a book in bed before they fall asleep.. Could make this slightly unique for each para in your house too. Loving everything I’ve seen so far!
2020-04-22 19:21:54 +0000 UTCCRAFTING!!! Crafting is one of the things I love most in games that have it. I love being able to gather different resources and make other things from it.
Akasha O'Connell
2020-04-22 19:19:11 +0000 UTCI would love to be able to make policies that change the neighbourhood, Like a little bit of cities skylines in there. Policies may affect things such as crime rate, real-estate, traffic, whether there is lots of litter or not. I would love to be able to become mayor and change the policies, become a criminal and take advantage of a neighbourhood with high crime, or a police and catch a lot of criminals to lower the crime rate.
2020-04-22 19:18:01 +0000 UTCI am all for customization so any form of customization in the game would be greatly appreciated. To give the game an even longer lifespan, it would be great if the game had updates once it is released and had an easy system for users to create mods or customizable things and share with others.
Shane O'Sullivan
2020-04-22 19:15:50 +0000 UTCSweeping, mopping, vacuuming, having to clean one's room (I know, it's so mundane lol). Also being able to order a variety of foods for delivery. Kitchen appliances like toasters and fryers. Pet birds. Blankets. Buying school supplies for the kids. Having the option to be an elementary or high school teacher. Parafolks wearing their favorite scented lotions or perfumes, and doing their hair in the morning. Sorry for how eclectic this post is...

2020-04-22 19:12:40 +0000 UTCYESS!!
2020-04-22 19:11:20 +0000 UTCI'd like to be able to rename paras

2020-04-22 19:08:24 +0000 UTCWhen there aren’t enough social interactions between either animals interacting with other animals , or “sims” interacting with other sims , games fall flat. I would really like to see a lot of autonomous and player controlled social options. In sims 2 children could play tag among many other social interactions. And it made the children see alive.
2020-04-22 19:06:46 +0000 UTCI would love to gather different types of collectibles such as pieces of art, gemstones, insects, recipes, jewellery and more so that each of my paras can have his/her own collection :) Maybe they could even trade among each other, buy collectibles or find them in town, woods, etc. ! I loved exploring the worlds in the third part of the game that shall not be named and collecting everything i could find :D
2020-04-22 19:04:45 +0000 UTCALSO - in Cities Skylines (and I think most other city building simulations) value of residence or happiness of the ones living there is also influenced by how many community lots there are - for example parks, monuments, playgrounds, libraries etc. It'd be interesting if community lots and overall world environment has an impact on Paras living in the neighborhood.
2020-04-22 19:04:20 +0000 UTCI also love animal crossing! Especially turnips and gifts from villagers! I don't think turnips would suit paralives though, but maybe gifts! It would be cool if paras recieved varied gifts from neighbours based on things like current outfit, the furniture in there house or completely random. I love that about animal crossing and would love to see something like that in Paralives
2020-04-22 19:03:10 +0000 UTCLove the eco-friendly items! :) Maybe also a good idea is to have electric vehicles which would also reduce the bills? Feature from other games: auto-generated sequences. Sims 2 did something similar with the event sequences (for example getting married). I'm thinking more along the lines of Mass Effect cut-scenes for some actions. Let's say there is a really fun career interaction for each career, something that really makes a significant change for our Paras. Maybe a cut-scene that auto-generates our Para in the animation explaining what is happening would be good. I think this makes us even more involved in their paralives.
2020-04-22 18:59:20 +0000 UTCI am a huge simulation player. I'd love to see city builder mechanics in the game. More than just careers, like mayor, actual gameplay that goes with it - like being able to upgrade and charge for parks and museums with tax income. I'd like for an option to tie jobs available to the amount of shops in town. I'd like crime to be more prevalent in areas where Paras don't have jobs. Just being able to have more macro and micro control in some ways.

2020-04-22 18:58:09 +0000 UTCPublic transit if you don't have your own car/can't drive
2020-04-22 18:57:50 +0000 UTCi was just playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake and i like how the people in the sectors are always interacting with each other. you can over hear convos or oversee different situations playing out. Like kids running and playing, merchants promoting their items on the street, a crowd forming--reacting to something they saw, people sitting and talking, a random couple snuggled up. i felt like that really brought life to the city of Midgar. i would love to see something similar amongst Paras as you're exploring the open world.
2020-04-22 18:56:30 +0000 UTCThat’s actually a really good idea! Plus it just makes it seem more realistic rather than just popping up in a new place.
2020-04-22 18:54:12 +0000 UTCI would love to see some storylines prebuilt in the game we can play through. The Sims 2 had something similar where the events of the basegame families were partly coded to show Players all the possibilities in the game. I‘d love to see some directed Storytelling at the start of the game in some (or more) households here, too. It would add to the depth a lot.
Luan
2020-04-22 18:49:23 +0000 UTCIf you do put subways in the game, the transition period can be similar to the recent Spider-Man video game, where it’s a cutscene/loading screen of the paras in the subway. The animation cut scene could look be for example, some may be standing while listening to music on their headphones, or sitting reading a newspaper or playing a game o their phone, or discreetly eating from a bag of chips. I know. I know not everyone likes loading screens, but this might keep the game from lagging in regards to subways.

2020-04-22 18:47:01 +0000 UTCOmg yuuuuuuus, I can't wait to have an eco friendly house!! I can't wait for the reveal! I love the options we get for proportions!
2020-04-22 18:45:55 +0000 UTCI think it would be really cool to have the opportunity to pay for things with loans. For example if you want to buy a car, then you can pay a down payment and pay the rest of the car off in regular installments. Or if you want to upgrade to a bigger house, you have a mortgage. On that note as well, I feel like different sized houses should have different bill payments. Smaller house should have less bills as they’re probably using less energy/utilities.
2020-04-22 18:45:34 +0000 UTCA gallery type feature is a great idea!
2020-04-22 18:42:20 +0000 UTCHey, Alex! I totally LOVE the "eco energy" thing, for real, this makes me able to see even more this whole ideia of Paralives being a life simultaion game yet so different from everything we've seen. I also love the whole concept of body shaping model.. it's all amazing, congratulations, guys. As a patreon, honestly, I fell like my money couldn't be more well spent, I'm SO proud of you! <3 I'm really curious about "animal crossing", unfortunately i've not been able to play yet, but I know people who are madly inlove wiht it. For suggestions, well, I think the whole visual is really important and I loved everything about the last maggie apartment preview, but, to me, the whole gameplay is even more important, I'd love a beautiful yet complex game.
2020-04-22 18:41:25 +0000 UTCIt'd be cute to see a few times... but I'm half expecting a major lag around recess time when all the little Parakids need to be produced, like it used to in Sims 3 around noon and late in the evening if your pc was older and/or you had a lot of CC. Wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

2020-04-22 18:37:37 +0000 UTCI would love for there to be a first person camera mode we could switch to! It would make roleplay a lot easier

2020-04-22 18:34:37 +0000 UTCCool idea. This could add to a more story telling element in the game.

2020-04-22 18:31:21 +0000 UTCI love the body morph! the shape is much more human by keeping the hip bones! I also love the solar panels! Great work and keep it up! I'm so excited to see our parafolk!
2020-04-22 18:30:02 +0000 UTCHmm, from other games and Xbox games, could Paralives have the ability to swim underwater, climb up or down things, step over things, random animals, a zoo, a fair grounds, ability to worship (religion could be anything you imagine it to be), ability to have a purse/backpack to carry items in, because without it you can't carry anything in it. A pouch, purse, backpack, or suitcase could carry a higher or lower number of items depending on its size.
2020-04-22 18:28:27 +0000 UTCI'd like driving and car customization like GTA and midnight club.
2020-04-22 18:25:05 +0000 UTCI think my favorite new thing about Animal Crossings: New Horizons is the way the villagers interact with each other and on the island! It makes the island feel alive and it's entertaining to interrupt conversations and see what two villagers are talking about. I think it would be great if Paralives adapted this mechanic as well! Sims as they are currently don't do anything when you're not actively paying attention to them. The NPCs just walk around and do their own stuff, sometimes jog. If NPCs in Paralives could be seen acting like friendly neighbors and taking care of their lawns it would be so cute
Mellina Sihombing
2020-04-22 18:22:11 +0000 UTCI would love more consequences! Teenage parafolk getting into trouble for underaged drinking! Breaking the law and getting caught! Being caught cheating leads to a nasty fight! Other people can catch you doing something and decide to tell the person it effects if they know them!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 18:20:54 +0000 UTCI play a game called Yoworld on FB and I really love that I get to hang out with my friends in the game being as many of them are far away. If we could send messages to other parafolks via the in game computer or mailbox would be super cool. Or we could visit other parafolks home to drop them a note to let them know you stopped by would be great also. Just ideas of things I enjoy most in the game. Thanks for the update love the range of body looks.
Rachel Boyd
2020-04-22 18:20:22 +0000 UTCid like to see custom paintings and stores where you can buy some clothes/furniture you cant normally like in animal crossing

2020-04-22 18:18:46 +0000 UTCThanks so much for this preview, it pretty amazing. Actually, talking about eco friendly stuff: I've seen a lot of people say that for travelling, they'd rather see their parafolk go to the airport, bus station or train station than disappear into thin air, which I understand. But I would love it if planes did not make it into the game. We need the real world to change and we need planes to not really be a thing anymore, in the real world. Games and shows are actually a huge influence on our behaviours and what we perceive as attractive or not attractive. I love that you want to bring solar panels and wind turbines into the game, that's amazing. But how about other little details about daily things that we do that impact the environment? Like options such as being vegetarian or vegan, not using plastic (if you were planning on adding single use coffee cups or sth in the game)... And parafolks who would care for the environment would not want to take baths, for example. Another thing I thought about that's probably too much, but I'll leave it here as an idea: could the parafolks have values? Meaning a parafolk wanting to be a lawyer, social worker, nurse, doctor, etc. would have prejudice against a parafolk who's working in a bank, for example. I thought that could be fun. Anyway, I am super super excited about all the work you are doing guys, looks like we're going to have lots of fun!
Emma-Lisa Roux
2020-04-22 18:16:14 +0000 UTCI‘m getting more and more excited 😍✨
2020-04-22 18:14:47 +0000 UTCYea, things like debt, mortgages, etc would be rlly cool to see.
2020-04-22 18:11:47 +0000 UTCI'd like to clarify, the mini games I am interested in are more so about choices rather than a sudden game of find the matching gemstone or whatever. I want like a zoom in to the two Parafolk interacting and you be asked certain questions and you have to give the right response to get the effect you want out of the interaction. Make it feel more personal. Not so much more random mini games.

2020-04-22 18:08:30 +0000 UTCAll I can think of right now is a more realistic economy. I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be challenging!

2020-04-22 18:08:19 +0000 UTCAlso, I’d love to see school activities/ assignments like, non rabbithole prom, scholastic book fair, sports games, art show, graduation, food fights, special book parties for para schoolchildren who read the required number of books, spirit week, field trips, science fair, career day, projects, book reports, etc.

2020-04-22 18:07:50 +0000 UTCLove, love, love! I really enjoy how realistic the modeling is looking! Very excited to see paras!
2020-04-22 18:07:07 +0000 UTCI like the gallery feature in sims 4. Not having to leave the game to download or upload my own creations.
2020-04-22 18:04:19 +0000 UTCThese all sound so wonderful!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 18:04:14 +0000 UTCI love the idea of collecting things like Animal crossing :) It would be nice to see bugs in the game
2020-04-22 18:03:53 +0000 UTCI’d like to see detailed animations. For example, I want paras to contemplate life while looking out their window, or people or bird watch, the grocery store fridge could let out a cool breeze/ frost like sims 2, para can pour cereal and milk into the bowl and sometimes a toy will fall out and para children might fight over it. More ideas, dogs can pull the covers of their paras in the morning, paras can claim ownership over items they personally buy and para siblings might try to steal their siblings items, get caught or successfully hide the items for years to come, lol. More ideas, paras can do chores, if they have items like, vacuums, washing/dryer, or lawnmower; they should also be able to fix up/restore a car, bike or boat and use it or sell for a living. There should be garbage trucks each end or beginning of the week, paras will have to race to get their trash out before the garbage truck come to their house. More ideas, water some house plants, para children dance on para parents toes/feet, para children play hand games, tag, hopscotch, have lemonade stands or bake sales.
Joy Kennedy
2020-04-22 18:02:42 +0000 UTCi like the idea of there being traveling merchants, maybe for paralives it could take the form of a special event/door-to-door sales man. maybe they sell exclusive items we can't get from the build/buy catalogue without cheats
2020-04-22 18:02:21 +0000 UTCMaybe a few tasks here and there could include some type of mini game
2020-04-22 18:01:36 +0000 UTCHappy earth day! Excellent job as always team :)

2020-04-22 18:00:06 +0000 UTCIf there was a way to incorporate collections and have them stored in a museum like in AC that would be amazing! The museum is probably my favorite part of Animal Crossing.

2020-04-22 17:58:04 +0000 UTCThat's fantastic! Deep customization :D
Giuseppe Sammatrice
2020-04-22 17:58:03 +0000 UTCWell there's a couple of things that would be fun! 1. I play a lot of RPG games and I would love story mode with quests! 2. I would really like to see martial arts in the game. And if we had playable careers. Like how awesome spy would be! My martial arts trained Para going on a mission on a boat and fighting off a villain! That's probably a bit complex for a base game, but can't help mention it!
Alexandra Veda
2020-04-22 17:56:42 +0000 UTCI can't WAIT to see the Paras! 😀And I appreciate the preview of the body sliders! Better body sliders than EA was ever able to create in the Sims!
2020-04-22 17:55:17 +0000 UTCHappy earth day! Loving the eco friendly options :) I'd love to see loans and debt I love the idea of a 'personal banker' or someone you contact via a phone or computer to get a loan, but maybe it looks at your spending history to see whether you'd be a good candidate?
2020-04-22 17:54:20 +0000 UTCI do love everything you're doing though! You guys are brilliant; can't wait until this is released. 😄
Gill Reid
2020-04-22 17:54:00 +0000 UTChi Alex! hope you're doing well :) can you say us if there will be heterochromia in Paralives?
Blaven
2020-04-22 17:53:57 +0000 UTCI'd like to live off the grid completely ( and irl too!) So more crop growing and or farming would be great. More eco things!! As for doing quests etc for shopkeepers I don't agree with, as a life simulation game those shouldn't be included. I don't think I have ever personally done a wuest for a neighbour or local shopkeeper. Seriously if I wanted to do that I'd play Stardew Valley.

2020-04-22 17:52:42 +0000 UTCI think bitlife has a lot of innovative features. I like their school system especially.

2020-04-22 17:52:00 +0000 UTCNope. It only worked for me on PC.
2020-04-22 17:51:48 +0000 UTCYes!!! I’d love to see this. I watch too much house flipper shows so this would be fun to do in a game.

2020-04-22 17:50:39 +0000 UTCBeing able to make custom recipes that can be tasty or turn out horrible :P

2020-04-22 17:49:01 +0000 UTCOMG, I love the new sneak peek. Please keep up the good work, but also take enough breaks and stay healthy.
2020-04-22 17:48:58 +0000 UTCMaybe seeing the kids go outside for recess during the school day.
Alani Mason-Callaway
2020-04-22 17:48:25 +0000 UTCI think being able to care for plants/flowers and sell them and stuff like in animal crossing would be so cool! And about the GIF- is it supposed to move? If so, mine isn't. However the model is looking great!
Kat
2020-04-22 17:48:15 +0000 UTCAm I the only one having trouble with the gif playing!? I JUST WANNA SEE IT!! Haha!

2020-04-22 17:47:10 +0000 UTCI would love to see in game stones and gems collecting. Also I thing a nice feauture would be some scripted adventures in town like e.g old house in wood where we can find some treasure or ghost in lighthouse that need our help to be free.Thats only examples, but I mean some of simple 'RPGish quest' in game, some nps with special behaviour or exploring places like caves.
2020-04-22 17:46:12 +0000 UTCMany years ago I played Zoo Tycoon and one of the things I still miss is the scenarios. You could do the regular "freeform" play or you could play through a scenario where you have to earn a profit without charging admission or breed a baby Yeti or something. Obviously Paralives wouldn't have the same scenarios but that could be an interesting way to highlight different areas of the game.

2020-04-22 17:44:49 +0000 UTCIt says they will reduce your electricity bill - i.e. via production of electricity.

2020-04-22 17:44:38 +0000 UTCI'd love to be able to connect electronics to each other so they all followed the same orders, turning on/off at the same time, changing channel etc.
2020-04-22 17:43:47 +0000 UTCThe graphics are beautiful, however, as we've seen with the Sims 4, you can have beautiful graphics and lackluster gameplay. Please ensure you are giving us updates on game features as well! Solar and wind energy is a fantastic start and already covers what Sims players have been asking EA for. Also please **consider** giving your patrons a discount since we are in times of crisis and we are putting our scarce, hard-earned money into supporting your game because we are so excited and have so much faith in you. Edit: Made it sound nicer for everyone getting offended. :)
2020-04-22 17:43:44 +0000 UTCI play Stardew Valley and one of my favorite aspects is the community events...it gives me an incentive to get out of the house! I also like doing little quests/errands for your neighbors and having them give you gifts. Plus, these errands can help you discover aspects of gameplay you might not otherwise!
Megan Santucci
2020-04-22 17:42:27 +0000 UTCThank you! Yes :)

2020-04-22 17:42:25 +0000 UTCThanks for the sneak peak I'm loving what I'm seeing. As for ideas, I have been racking my brain and as I don't play many games other than the one that won't be mentioned and planet zoo I can't think of anything from another game.
2020-04-22 17:39:11 +0000 UTCCall me boring but I was a big Harvest Moon player growing up. Since its earth day...maybe having farming features similar to Harvest Moon? Specifically the raising animals aspect
2020-04-22 17:39:08 +0000 UTCAah! So excited, I love that there are eco-objects in the game 😊
2020-04-22 17:39:01 +0000 UTCI play a lot of rpg and adventure games like the Witcher or Spider-Man. I’d love to see you guys make it possible for paraplayers to have their paras choose to engage in side quests or request type activities. This could allow for their paras to receive some reward and skill or personality improvement. To be more specific, maybe a para’s neighbor calls them over to help find their lost pet or maybe they are going having a party in two days for their kid but don’t know how to make a cake. The players can choose to accept the request and help other paras. Depending on the request or situation, may result in some type of lost personality points or nothing changes. So if the para finds their neighbor’s dog/cat/horse but decides to keep it, that might result in lost good personality points, but will gain points like mischievous or evil, lol. Another situation might be where a para could help a shop owner who sells flowers for a living, but they need a special item(s) to improve their business. Paraplayers can go on a quest to help their paras find the items the shop owner needs. Furthermore, I’d like to see the ability to collect items on the ground like maybe spare change/money dropped, or some special ingredient on the ground that paras can collect. The items can be useful for building something, or making some type of elixir to improve skills, or for baking and cooking, or simply to sell to other paras at a market. Btw, I hope their will be some type of farmers or flea market in the game! I’d like to see this in the game. I think it will stand out from typical life simulation games and would add to a more story element. Also, since y’all will have free updates, you could add more quests into the game so it won’t be too repetitive.
Joy Kennedy
2020-04-22 17:38:53 +0000 UTCPlease, no mini games. That's SO mobile technology. What would come next? Micro-transactions? Just no. I miss where career criminals actually got arrested and went to jail. I don't remember if that was TS2 or TS3, but now you can be a criminal with no repercussions. That's not right. You should take that "career" at your own risk. Also, if college is incorporated at some point, make it mean something other than just more money earlier on. Certain careers should be locked unless you have that college degree, like doctor, lawyer or teacher. I also like the idea of being able to take loans, instead of just cheating for money.
Maiden Minnesota
2020-04-22 17:38:49 +0000 UTCInteracting with a real-estate agent when looking at houses sounds really nice 😊Some types of gameplay can verge too close on reality and lose appeal, however the idea of contacting a realtor (a possible job for your Parafolk to have??) and they take you to a couple houses or land until something strikes your fancy and then you have to give your price and hope someone else doesn't beat you. This will add some stakes. It should also be possible to go to the map and move a household in "god mode" if you want something more direct.
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 17:38:43 +0000 UTCThose objects are so cool! Will you be able to put solar panels on roofs?

2020-04-22 17:38:29 +0000 UTCI love seeing this project continue to grow and expand! It awesome that you guys are including us in this too! One thing that I would love to see would be to have multiplayer somehow! My sister and I grew up playing Sims urbz and Bustin out together and now we can't have that experience anymore. It would be awesome to be able to play together again especially since we are older and live in different states! So playing online would be a great thing!
2020-04-22 17:38:08 +0000 UTCThe way we interact with our neighbors, their background stories, shops and the immersive feeling of the island.
2020-04-22 17:37:27 +0000 UTCall I need to be happy is good genetics mechanics, but also I wouldn’t want to push that because I have no idea how hard that would be
HaHaHoneyBee
2020-04-22 17:36:38 +0000 UTCAbsolutely the story of the city, it's culture, some mistery around it(like cases of disappering maybe), every citizen with it's background and personality etc. Then, i'd like some CRAFTING SISTEM(like in AC), a farming sistem for your garden. Also, differents shops for shoes, bags, and others like sauna/spa, a big super market for buildings stuff(for bathrooms, kitchens etc). Ps.I'd love to see more and more interaction with the home's staff. Manually(with the pg) turn on/off lights, take care of plants etc etc
Em Cottone
2020-04-22 17:35:00 +0000 UTCI know this would probably take a lot of time to create, but I have played Stardew Valley a lot and would love for farming to someday make it into Paralives 😁
Oliver Samuel Nielsen
2020-04-22 17:34:06 +0000 UTCI love the idea of an open world where things are actually going on still in the game. Your neighbors aren't just a house you can visit--they will continue to do things, move around, sleep, go to work, earn/lose money, build relationships while you are not watching/playing them.
Gabi Gratz
2020-04-22 17:33:34 +0000 UTCI love that! Like the actions of your Parafolk actually have consequences, like cause and effect! Maybe if you make a scene in public people will mock you, if you're known as being mean your door can get egged, if you donate to the local government you can get a plaque in the park with your name on it.
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 17:33:18 +0000 UTCI LOVE Stardew.
Megan Santucci
2020-04-22 17:33:13 +0000 UTCI love the eco-friendly objects so much!!! Thank you!!! You could maybe consider some quests that can be given by townies through social interaction, just mini-quests, nothing grand, that could like help improve relationships with these townies? Also some hidden mini-locations which are hard to find and access. It's a sandbox game so I don't think full on RPG features would work but still some kind of a story would be nice, it would give so much things for the community to theorize about.
2020-04-22 17:32:42 +0000 UTCIncorporating some fantasy content like maybe a whole world you can visit that includes supernatural parafolk, but doesn't have to bleed over into other worlds if you don't want. Maybe not just the typical supernatural folks like vampires, witches etc but also dwarves, elves, fairies, etc.
2020-04-22 17:32:10 +0000 UTCI would like to have a closet where you can change your paras clothes how they do in GTA5. Similarly, they could change their hair and/or makeup in a mirror or vanity. Also, could paras have an Amazon or eBay like service where they could buy things online via phone or computer?
2020-04-22 17:31:54 +0000 UTCAs a sims 4 content creator on youtube , i am so honored to be a Patreon to this amazing project, and no need to say that in the day it will be out i will review / play/build this game on my channel, and i would love to see some more advanced hobbies from real life in this game, for example, cars enthusiastic will be able to mod their cars, wood sculpture as a professional career (maybe Ice Scalpturing ^^ ) , maybe advance sailing skills / flying career and i have more ideas ofc :P
2020-04-22 17:31:50 +0000 UTCi’ve been playing animal crossing non stop and i have to say i love the DIY aspect of the game. it makes me feel very involved with my island and my house and i love how creative it can be!
2020-04-22 17:31:24 +0000 UTCThought it was the para reveal and I lost my SHIT for a second hahaha

2020-04-22 17:30:35 +0000 UTCI'd love to have collectables that are only able to be found at certain times of day in-game like in animal crossing or stardew valley.
Emma J
2020-04-22 17:29:55 +0000 UTCLore and interesting NPCs is so important to gameplay! I would love being able to have a friend's Parafolk visit my Parafolk, but I don't think I would like a game so heavily reliant on online and multiplayer play. If this was something on the side you could choose to do but otherwise wouldn't impact your game at all if you didn't want it, then I could be interested.
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 17:29:21 +0000 UTCThis might be update or DLC material, but maybe having a survival mode on an off the grid lot where you can't just buy everything; you have to gather/build it. Maybe even build a whole town that functions that way. It might be interesting if NPC neighbors take on "jobs" depending on their personalities and you can barter or buy what they produce. Perhaps you have to reach a certain point in gameplay to even get NPC neighbors
2020-04-22 17:28:22 +0000 UTCThank you so much for your post! It's so great to follow your progress. So one of my favorite games aside from the Sims franchise is GTA (Grand Theft Auto). My favorite was GTA 3, in regards to gameplay. I like their open-world concept, but I also like the idea of having a purpose, i.e. quests or mini missions. I also love the ability to physically drive the car how I wanted. Though I know that was the point of the game, it would be cool to have that too if you have vehicles in the game. Instead of just watching your Paras driving, maybe have the option to drive for them. I liked other aspects of the game too, but they were more violent and I don't think that's what you're going for. lol
2020-04-22 17:28:16 +0000 UTCI play House Flipper and it would be awesome 😎 if Parafolk could renovate and sell houses for a profit as a career and even own properties and be a landlord. I have wanted that feature in the sims for a long time 👏
2020-04-22 17:27:50 +0000 UTCNot from game's but I would love to be able to have child if divorced para's having apossibility of chared custody were they live part time with mom and part with dad

2020-04-22 17:27:10 +0000 UTCI would love for npcs to have real and distinct personalities! I think it adds so much to the world you are playing in.

2020-04-22 17:26:05 +0000 UTCI think if this is implemented well and realistic it would be so freaking cool!
2020-04-22 17:25:58 +0000 UTCThis is looking great! Loved the thickening of the thighs lol
2020-04-22 17:25:57 +0000 UTCAbility to see a garbage truck driving past your home and guy getting out to collect your trash! You’ve placed outside of your house. Having a scheduled trash day as a service would be nice and realistic to have!

2020-04-22 17:25:53 +0000 UTCOne thing that i LOVE about Nintendo games that i would love to see in this game is how beautiful and colorful the skies get. It gives such a calming feeling. I am obsessed with weather and time changes, its all beautiful to me. Like the calm drizzle of rain, the way the sunset makes a home look, and the crunch of snow. If you plan on having a diverse weather system i hope each one rather its the time of day or snow and rain, i hope there is something to look forward to in each.
Jazzyfay
2020-04-22 17:25:36 +0000 UTCPut an arcade in the game with mini games we can actually play. Activities with neighbors and have the neighbors throw parties and stuff we can attend. Concerts to attend, farming but actual farming! Like we get tillers and all that and lawn mowers. Pick your own religion or make one up. Car shows.
2020-04-22 17:25:17 +0000 UTCI like that you’re able to earn interest in animal crossing, take out loans etc. A realistic banking system like that would be really cool!
2020-04-22 17:24:03 +0000 UTCI love the idea of Parafolks being able to own property and run businesses!
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 17:23:35 +0000 UTChappy earth day!! i’ve been playing animal crossing too and it’s one of my favorite games. i love how interacting with NPCs has personality and purpose and i wonder if that’s something that could be incorporated. i would love for farming to be an option- i’m a big stardew player and i always have wished i could farm in games like TS4. also being able to actually cook with the plants you grow- what’s the point of growing herbs if you can’t do anything with them?? mini quests, illnesses, world events, and maybe some aspect of religion/spirituality.
2020-04-22 17:23:25 +0000 UTCI think some cutscene-type mini games for added gameplay would be wonderful! Sims 2 had lots of cutscenes and they were fun (but mainly just for show). Funny example, but in Dream Daddy there are a lot of mini games for stuff like dates and trying to prove your daughter is awesome. I think having stuff like this for when Parafolks go to work, when they meet someone they want to impress, maybe stuff like haggling for a lower price, or speed dating. Stuff like that sprinkled throughout the game can add to the intensity of gameplay and make events feel like they have more stakes.
Sophie Goodman-Merel
2020-04-22 17:22:48 +0000 UTCcould paras have a food delivery service like postmates? haha idk it it’s just me who wants that
2020-04-22 17:22:25 +0000 UTCI love farm games, always been a big fan of harvest moon, rune factory, stardew valley and the likes. I'd love to have some farming elements, maybe have my own greenhouse to grow stuff and take care of farm animals 😁.
2020-04-22 17:21:52 +0000 UTCYou guys are doing fantastic! Love love love it! I love the features in red dead redemption when you can have hotels where you can chose to stay for a few days, or just have dinner/drinks at the bar area. Perhaps betting tables also? Like poker or black jack, casinos possibly?
2020-04-22 17:21:26 +0000 UTCI would love some kind of way to share what we do with other people that have the game, like, either make it possible for them to visit or I don't know, any sort of online feature would be lovely I think. Oh and regarding features that are from other game genre I think about narrative game choices to give depth to NPCs relationships would be a cool one, like, it would probably require quite a bit of work but just giving more depth to the NPCs or Lore in general like some sorte of RPG (I know I know not that much probably but hopefully you get the idea?)
Blooby
2020-04-22 17:21:06 +0000 UTCI'm really happy that Paralives will let me be eco-friendly! Very much a big fan of the first three Harry Potter games by EA. They were bright, fun and had such a fantastic soundtrack! I liked that you learnt new spells as you went which unlocked all sorts of secret places across the game. Also the collectables, I am a sucker for collectables! Trying to find all of the wizard cards was so much fun!
2020-04-22 17:20:31 +0000 UTCSuper excited 😆 looks amazing

2020-04-22 17:20:13 +0000 UTCLike in AC I would like to improve the community where my character lives, for example: put/quit flowers, trees, roads customisation, streetlight, multiple decorations (statues, fountains, etc.)
2020-04-22 17:19:46 +0000 UTCLooks amazing!! Super excited
2020-04-22 17:19:13 +0000 UTCThank you for the eco-friendly option! ❤ I would like to see some mystery, like a history style mystery. That adds deepness to a game in my opinion.
2020-04-22 17:18:49 +0000 UTCI’m also playing AC and loving it! It’s definitely helping calm the anticipation for Paralives lol. One thing I definitely like about it is how easily accessible things are on the cell phone. Do you think there could be a similar feature in the game? For example if we were to check bills or make a payment we’d be able to do so by pulling out a phone (and now that I’m thinking about it, maybe it’d be cool if that feature were mapped to a specific key or something)

2020-04-22 17:18:33 +0000 UTCI would love to be able to visit my friends games (perhaps in a view only mode) to see their hard work!
2020-04-22 17:18:08 +0000 UTCLooks amazing! Thank you for the update!
2020-04-22 17:18:05 +0000 UTCSince you bring up AC, maybe the clothing design tool from that? It would actually be really cool to work something like that into a designer career, and as you grow more popular/ get promoted you would see more and more Parafolks wearing your designs around town.

2020-04-22 17:17:22 +0000 UTCI'd love for there to be a bit of a story to the world and the characters plus maybe a couple of puzzles to solve, things to explore old-school adventure game style. :D

2020-04-22 17:17:15 +0000 UTCA dating app would be such a cool concept I think! :)
2020-04-22 17:17:12 +0000 UTCFar too excited to get my hands on this
2020-04-22 17:16:34 +0000 UTCflower breeding would be a fun thing to do, also maybe some puzzles like in virtual villagers would be fun

2020-04-22 17:16:28 +0000 UTCThis is an idea kind of similar to the Sims 3; however, I liked how in TS3, you could buy and own community lots which was quite interesting. I'd love the oppurtunity to own nightclubs and make a profit out of it. However, I'm not sure if this i taking it too far!
2020-04-22 17:16:26 +0000 UTCAmazing !!
2020-04-22 17:16:11 +0000 UTCNice!!!!! I would like to see some farming. And maybe things like being able to have movie nights, cinemas?
2020-04-22 17:16:08 +0000 UTCHey Alex, great to hear from you and your team. What mechanics are in other games not yet Paralives? I'd personally say the ability to go to a "bank" and upgrade your house, I mean, houses just don't come from the sky right, you need to go to an auction or check online and then go to real estate agency and participate in some type of auction. I wish a feature like this Alex was available in Paralives. Plus fishing too which would be amazing :D I wish swimming was a thing in AC, unfortunately its not, other thing I would love in Paralives too is swimming :) Let's not forget to add, realistic interactions and body gestures just like the sims 2, its the little details that count imho \o/

2020-04-22 17:15:54 +0000 UTCREAL body shapes!!! yessssss!!!!!

2020-04-22 17:15:44 +0000 UTCLove it! And I really appreciate that the items actually will have an effect on your bills! This may not be a relevant request, but I would be interested in seeing sicknesses and natural disasters be a possibility? I mean this game is obvious not a war game, but I can’t be the only one who has thought....maybe it could be cool to incorporate a form of violence? That being said this isn’t GTA so it’s really not necessary! Tbh one thing I miss (and I hate bringing up sims in this) is the sims 2 memory system. I really enjoyed it and that, coupled with a family tree are little details I really appreciated!

2020-04-22 17:15:37 +0000 UTCI love this idea! It would be cool if there were randomly generated quests that you could choose whether to complete or not. Like, the neighbor’s kid asks for help making a snowman and you need to collect a hat, gloves, carrot, etc to complete it.

2020-04-22 17:15:30 +0000 UTCI don't know how doable this would be, but I've been thinking it would be nice if your actions could impact how the world looks. For example, if you go out every day and clean up trash or water the grass, you eventually get a lush, green world. But if you regularly litter or walk on the lawn, maybe the grass starts to die off or get brown? You could create the kind of world you want to have for your playstyle.

2020-04-22 17:15:23 +0000 UTCSo solar panels and wind turbines won't produce electricity? Something like that would be interesting for off-the-grid-gameplay 😄

2020-04-22 17:15:18 +0000 UTCI think it would be interesting to have a "first-person camera" mode both to play and in buy/build mode :D
2020-04-22 17:15:14 +0000 UTCI would love to see some stardew valley inspired gameplay, namely, having an impact on the community. You wouldn't necessary have to do these things, but it would be nice if you perhaps could donate money for a local park to help improve it, or something along those lines :)

2020-04-22 17:15:13 +0000 UTCTha ability to farm for your career would be amazing. I live in a very rural area and I like to use real life as inspiration for my builds, but it sucks that the farms I build can’t really function well as farms.
2020-04-22 17:15:03 +0000 UTChappy earth day! this is so cool. my first video game love has and always will be rpgs and i feel like having some sort of quest system or task system gives gameplay a bit more purpose (at least to me bc i like some structure) so maybe adding in the option for some quests and tasks with rewards for completing them
2020-04-22 17:15:00 +0000 UTCThank you for this awesome update! I love animal crossing, I still remember playing it on the GameCube AHAH! Ohh, I have always loved farming (Like in Harvest moon) in video games and just living off the land ~ there’s something so relaxing about having your own farm and just living life simply ~
2020-04-22 17:14:58 +0000 UTCI have not seen this in any game and that is why I would like to see it in Paralives. How do you think two twin Paras can blow out the candles on a birthday cake at the same time?
2020-04-22 17:14:56 +0000 UTCI'm seconding mini quests or just quests in general!
Liisa
2020-04-22 17:14:56 +0000 UTCI really liked with Sim Stories that we had little quest to do to keep us busy. It would be nice if we had quest like that with out neighbors
2020-04-22 17:14:52 +0000 UTCPARABUTTS, IM IN LOVE. perhaps instead of being able to just remodel public buildings we can fund for them from city hall or something and have them be upgraded so they can sell more/better/higher quality stuff? life sims games have a lot already. love the work so far, stay safe :V
2020-04-22 17:14:24 +0000 UTCThe social and political aspect of AC would be quite an interesting fountain to take inspiration of! Having lively and ever changing neighbors and neighborhoods, as well as the possibility of being a mayor (or something similar to not be so on-the-nose).
2020-04-22 17:14:16 +0000 UTCParas being able to contribute to community lots would be a cool feature! For example, an artist being able to sell their work to an art gallery and be able to visit the lot and see it displayed. Not sure how doable that would be, but it could be fun!

2020-04-22 17:13:49 +0000 UTCStay safe! I’m psyched to see these updates!
2020-04-22 17:13:35 +0000 UTCI want online community events where you can get the season's special items/clothes and such by completing quests!
2020-04-22 17:13:33 +0000 UTCI like games where you can farm. So an idea I have is that you can have gardens or farms. No machinery. And you can make recipes that you couldn’t if you didn’t farm. Just an idea
2020-04-22 17:13:31 +0000 UTCI love this!! It’s so exciting to see everything coming to fruition

2020-04-22 17:13:30 +0000 UTCWoooooohoooo!! I'm ridiculously excited! Can't wait! Grea t job!

2020-04-22 17:12:56 +0000 UTCDoing miniature quests for the neighbors! I think that’ll keep the players from being bored
2020-04-22 17:12:49 +0000 UTCShops with rotating items, definitely!
Jocelyn
2020-04-22 17:12:37 +0000 UTCI really love the idea of shops where items change daily like animal crossing, could be nice for paralives!
2020-04-22 17:12:17 +0000 UTCI’d love for animals to be able to interact on their own with objects. Knock books off a shelf or uproot a plant. :)
2020-04-22 17:12:15 +0000 UTCI love animal crossing!! I have fauna and I love her sm ❤️
2020-04-22 17:11:48 +0000 UTCIt looks like you're making great progress!!! I love it
