Character Creator Poll and Accessory Preview

One thing that I thought was a genius add to The Sims 4 was the CAS with story, where you answer a personality quiz about the sim you're creating and it auto-puts in traits and aspiration that fits the personality. I thought it was great because it often gave me traits or aspirations I wouldn't normally choose to play with. I was wondering if your game might or could possibly incorporate something similar obviously in your guys' own unique and ingenious way.

That would be great too, tbh. Mood, personality, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as other invisible disabilities too like diabetes. I'd love to be able to tell stories with all of those elements in the game.

yea but im more into mental disabilities. I hope there's stuff like ADHD and learning issues.

For the Paramaker studio, will there be an option to include physical disabilities? I've heard complaints about the Sims in regards to their lack of representation on the matter.

I know I'm way too late for offering up a name suggestion for this, but my idea is "Paraform".

Will there be any sort of hair physics ?

Also putting jackets over tops!! And choosing whether a shirt gets tucked in or not, or whether pants get tucked into boots or not.

hey Alex, this was probably suggested before, but I would really love if clothing was stackable! as in, you could put a tank top of your choice on top of a t-shirt of your choice; or putting on multiple necklaces/chokers. thanks man!

Hi Alex, may I add a suggestion? An option I'd love to see in this game would be the ability to save things to a 'group'. Like with objects, we might find a set that goes well together and instead of searching for those items each time, we can find them in the custom group the player made. Same for outfits, the ability to save outfits would be really nice. Thanks again for all your hard work, I'm really looking forward to the finished product!

You could make the acronym, PAM instead. It has a nice ring to it. Also I've seen some comments saying that the PLS acronym has another meaning for French people. (I can't remember exactly what it is but I think it's supposed to be awkward)

Paralives Studio seems confusing to me, it makes me think of music or films moreso than creating Paras. It's like if "Sims Studios" was in the Sims I'd think it was a film studio location. Parafolks creator had a nice ring to it so I went for that. Although I'd also be happy with Paramaker.

Paralives Studio feels so clunky to say and isn't exactly clear on what you're doing (Parafolk Studio would make more sense but I'm certainly not pitching that). Paramaker rolls off the tongue and is immediately clear in its meaning. Feeling bound to a three letter acronym just because Sims does it feels unnecessarily restrictive imo.

Yeah a lot of us use it in everyday stuff ("je suis en PLS" => it makes me upset), but it seems to be winning for now, so I guess there are not a lot of us Frenchies around here :P

I can't take PLS seriously because I'm used to PLS meaning "recovery position" in French ( https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Position_latérale_de_sécurité ) and it's also used quite a lot in jokes here. I mean, it seems to be the winning suggestion so I'll deal eventually, but I really prefer portmanteaus like Parassemble or Paramaker. As for the preview, there's something really crisp about how it looks. Don't know what I was expecting but that depth of field really makes it look good, and gives a nice "reality filter" to something that is also cartoony. Such a nice middle ground ! Also I like that for now we're seeing a mannequin, you tease XD It's also super cool to have those headphones as what looks like an individual object. God I'm just so excited about this preview, can we be next week yet ?!

LOVE the wireless headphones! Being able to do this across furniture/clothing/accessories will be an AWESOME feature and one I personally can't wait to use in game! It was one thing I really enjoyed in the SIMS 3. Being able to actually match wood tones or recolor T shirts or even matching chairs to couches or bedding (pillows, throws, sheets etc). Keep up the amazing work Alex, Lea and Roxanne!! We can't wait for the next update. Cheers :)

PLS come design and customize YOUR Parafolk for YOUR world YOUR way!** LOL or AFK or OMG are all shorthand for concepts we all use and understand so PLS come to the ParaLives Studio and Enjoy (no Yawning allowed!) I’m with @Tom Lu Parassembler is witty and punny. Everything else is kind of... bland and I don’t think this isn’t going to be a bland game. It should have a name that reflects its playfulness and charm. The wordplay is cute without being overly cutesy. Parassembly is a solid choice (but a long shot, I realize) and it fits really well. Ps - sorry if you get this message a million times somehow. I’m on mobile and it’s being uncooperative.

I'm not sure any of these really work but Paralives Studio sounds the most professional (the acronym could be PS). However I think "Paralives Parlor" or "Paralives Salon" would suit a CAS better without being too similar to other games.

Totally agree with a previous comment that "Parafolks Studio" should be the name of modder tools/community sharing aspect. And I personally like Paramaker for the character creator.

Paralives studio sounds neat. Wondering if beyond it being a creator we could have an option to shoot photos there too? With like different backgrounds to add, poses, other paras, filters, etc.

PLS in french is "position latérale de sécurité" wich mean : "recovey position" (use in accident car or faintness). A lot of french people use this expression so it's very weird.

This was tough but Paralives Studio is clean and can include more than just the folks themselves! Maybe custom stuff, worlds, etc. If the team were to release the program to try out Creating characters before hand , the other options could be disabled/greyed out etc.
