I hope the holidays were great to you and that you took some time for yourself!
For New Year Eve's, we wanted to make a table with lots of food. This was meant to be a test of what different food could like in Paralives. We included Champagne as voted in the last Patreon post! Thanks for your input! Cupcakes were also added because we love cupcakes.
Many people are curious if there will be alcohol in Paralives. I can say that there will be but we don't know yet if it will be called alcohol or something else!
Please note that this post and the above video are private for now so don't share it or discuss it outside of here or the #patrons channel on Discord :)
2019 was a crazy year for Paralives! So much happened and the feedback and love from everybody was incredible and overwhelming! I still can't believe we're able to make this game with you all and I'm so thankful for your support. It's because of you that Paralives can be made!
Recap of the year
- Worked part time on the game for the first half of the year, creating the build tools
- Left my part-time contract at Unity to work full time on Paralives in June
- Posted the very first Paralives video (window resizing) at the end of June and people are already super interested somehow!?!
- Posted the curved wall and split level video in July. Many Youtubers made videos about the game and so much people were talking about it!
- The Discord blew up with tons of people joining every day! A huge thanks to all the moderators and kind people on Discord for making this a very positive community bursting with great ideas and discussions
- Worked on many build features showed in different videos: object stacking, resizing, color wheel, object customization, etc, etc
- Interview process in October and November to hire a full time 3D artist. Thanks to the Patreon money, the team can grow!
- Launched the Paralives Steam page
- Made some research and tests for the Character design and customization. Made a goose editor prototype to test the character creation tools
- Started working part time with Léa in October to make some objects seen in the kitchen video and the tombstone in the cemetery video. It was great to finally work with someone!
- Hired Roxane in early December, very happy to have her on the team full time!
- Worked on the character design. This is the next big step and we're really looking forward to reveal the Parafolks and some gameplay!
2020 Goals
- Finish the design of the Parafolks and reveal them
- Show life simulation gameplay features
- Hire more people to join the team
- Suprises!

Alcohol is something we'll all find out about eventually, plus it's a teen rated game right? All teens know about alcohol.

2020-01-02 20:31:56 +0000 UTCI hope parafolk can get drunk but only after a certain amount of drinks. In the sims you either play it normal and it doesn't affect them, or you get the mod and they're completely drunk off of one drink. Though if your worried about rating I'm fine without it
