Erm, I don't know much about this. Schedules have been shaky, seasons far apart, but so far it seems they intend to continue. So long as the fandom remains strong/growing, we can only hope ...

What about the anime seasons for this, are they going to finish this story there too?

Unfortunately, there's no Season 2 of the Live Action yet. There's definitely plenty of source material, the novel already finished years back. It's just that the pandemic affected the production timeline for the next season, and then next thing we heard, Su Mucheng's actress has withdrawn from her role due to "time constraints" :( there's no firm news that the show's been cancelled but there's no real news of progress either.

Wei Chen is actually a combo of 2 characters from the novel -- Wei Chen himself and another dude called Sun Zheping. Sun Zheping is another of those old players like Ye Xiu -- a Berserker. He was once Captain of Team Hundred Blossoms, and a part of a popular duo called Blood and Blossoms. Sun Zheping was the "Blood" (per Berserker rages), while his long-time partner and vice-captain, Zhang Jiale, was the "Blossoms", a Spitfire known for his literally dazzling skills that left chaos and confusion in his wake. They'd both gone head-to-head against YX in the early Excellent Era days, even once in the Season 3 finals, but lost. Sadly, Sun Zheping suffered some hand injury around Season 5, that caused him to retire early, bitter. He returned years later (for a different reason) when Happy was in the Challenger league and got convinced into helping them for a bit -- just for a few key matches, to avoid triggering his injury again. This injury is what was handed to Wei Chen in the LA.
