Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. Thank you so so so much to everyone who came to our Chicago, Minneapolis, and Brooklyn tour stops! So far, I am 4-for-4 on having an absolutely incredible time, and I hope y’all had fun also. It was great to see so many of you in person!
Tuck & Vera Blossom at Skunk Cabbage Books in Chicago :)Hoping to see many of you in Seattle on Monday and in Oakland on Thursday. (Oakland was sold out, but the venue just added more tickets, so grab ‘em quick!) Unfortunately, Portland’s show/event is cancelled due to multiple significant personal emergencies among the participants. Big apologies to everyone who bought tickets and made space in their schedules! I’m doing my best to reschedule a normal-style Portland book event for December 18 or 19, so I’ll see you soon if you’re up for that.
But now it’s time to stop talking about book and start talking about podcast. And I’m thrilled to say that Monday’s episode will be with the legendary Ceyenne Doroshow of G.L.I.T.S.! Ceyenne is a huge part of New York’s trans, immigrant, and sex worker advocacy movements; you may remember she organized her sister Cecilia Gentili’s funeral and suffered the brunt of the backlash. Ozzy did a great job leading this conversation with Ceyenne, and I popped in for a few questions about the beach :)))))
(The Ceyenne episode is maybe mixed a little wild because I was on a plane and it turns out planes are sooo loud! But it'll be fine.)
This seems short, but what else is there to say? I just took the face blindness test and got 97%, in case you were wondering about that. Okay, let’s do Links & Stuff.
Trans journalism:
the 19th’s Orion Rummler interviewed two chill detransitioners about detransition
Quispe at Them outlines the new anti-trans passport policy updates
Speaking of Condé Nast! Did you hear that they fired the majority of Teen Vogue writers (including friend-of-pod Lex McMenamin)? And then, when they were confronted, they illegally fired four union organizers, including friend-of-pod Alma Avalle?? You can support Lex and Alma and everyone else by donating to these two GFMs and signing this petition.
ICE/protests:
This personal essay about ICE/CBP terrorizing Chicago went viral this week
Entire families are being snatched in New York
Meanwhile… streamers are causing trouble at Portland protests again
Everything else:
Rest in peace, Alice Wong.
This one unfolds exactly as you might expect
If you bookmatch (and you should why not!) lmk the coolest/weirdest book you get!
Sorry to send a Subway Takes but this one was so sweet / true / gay
That’s it for this week. Here’s your weekly Rhubarb.

And also Puffin, ofc.
