Surreal Landscapes 09 (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Hey hey,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far :)
After pyro, follows advection. Its not really possible in all simulation stuff in c4d unfortunately,
but at least I found a way that works stable without issues and we can achieve some nice and art directable results. We also gonna look on how to pass data efficiently from pyro to other aspects of c4d.

I know it gets a little more complex at this point, so as usual, if you have any questions feel free to reach out and/or let me know in the comments below.

Thank you!
T.

great news thank you!

Hey, for surfaces a vertex map node, for splines an attribute node (not supported yet but im speaking with devs now and its gonna be implemented probably on next update in a few days)

Thanos Kagkalos

hellow thanos i have a question. how you put the vertex color into the octane material and use it as diffuse? I tramfer the vertex color to vertex map but still i dont have my mask.

xristos efthymiadis

thanks! I hope it does as there is no other way to render this out

Thanos Kagkalos

Great tutorial bro. Speaking of vertex color it probably support in redshift with vertex color node. I haven’t tried it but it should works.

Mikhail

Oh wow, no wonder I was having a hard time:) Thanks for the reply!

Hey yes, that is not currently supported unfortunately. Vertex colors are relatively new thing to c4d in conjunction with fields. So expect a million bugs + things not updating/working etc hehe

Thanos Kagkalos

Amazing lesson, as usual! Im having trouble sending the vertex color information to octane to then apply it to C4D hair. I tried using the Vertex map node, but it just gives me white hair as a result.. Im sure Im missing something obvious here.
