C4D cloth 2023 partC (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Friday, funday and there is the 3rd part of micromanaging cloth series. In this one im gonna tackle this relative more complex example by On__AndOn

Lot's of micro details, I hope I am not explaining things too fast. Please ensure you use the same Cinema4D version while you follow this series.
As in every patch or big update, things on cloth change behaviour. I hope in next update everything will be sorted finally with forces and their range and what not.

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Love,
T.

thanks, well yes i will do more houdini tuts overtime, just my main focus for now is c4d. While software agnostic, I am not in favor of changing software unless something cant be done. I prefer to insist on a main 3d app. Doing vellum instead of c4d cloth there should be a reason (and i ll demonstrate that in a future tut). As houdini is no toy like c4d hehe it needs absolute commitment, u cant do back and forth in there. Thats the reason also for this cloth series where i push c4d and it responds pretty well :) My more tangible advice would be: use c4d for cloth and use vellum for grains/ hair

Thank you for the thorough answer! I'm like to , software agnostic, this is why I asked, I like to use each software for which it has best. So vellum it is! Are you planning on making new Houdini tutorials? I would love to see them, the way you explain things is very clear and for me you are among the best trainers out there. I've been trying to jump totally to Houdini specially because it is cheaper and more powerful, but some things are just faster and simple to do in C4D like simple Mography stuff.

thanks bud! well vellum is much more capable at scaling/connecting in everything in general. C4d is more like a car that starts super fast but having trouble maintaining the momentum hehe. Not saying that its bad, but it still has a lot of bugs, it has limits, its not unified with anything else. And its not just the cloth, its the whole c4d workflow where we cannot cache it proper/speed ramp it/initial state without breaking proceduralism. Honestly its not finished imo so to do a fair comparison, but its already super good for a lot of things.

Amazing series! At the end of this video you said you still prefer Vellum, can you tell me quickly why? Even though you said C4D cloth is faster than Vellum ? Is it stability ? thanks

Bruno Cesar Rojas Rodrigues

thanks buddy!

Great series as ever!

@25:50: "You need to do your subdivisions during render time". You mean using Octane object or using subdivision object? which is more effective?

Hahah! Thanks for the quick response! it's surely surprising. Hope that they will do the same with the gravity consistency stuff as well soon.

Glad u enjoyed it! no u dont, delta mush in this case happens post sim! A pleasant c4d surprise for a change haha

Thanos Kagkalos

Thank you so much for the great tutorial, as always! I wonder, after adding delta mush and adjusting the wrinkles, do we need to cache again?
