What a lovely idea for a reaction! I love this sound track- some of the only music I've actually purchased in the past year. I've added several to my playlists, and even several months later they hold up.

This sound track is amazing. I laughed out loud though when you said 'YES, this is epic we're going up a tower' music! Funniest part! So, I think the character songs have videos that go with them? I'm not 100% on if they're official. But if they are, are you going to watch the videos with the songs?

"I would take a qi deviation if I got to hear this bop first" I'm dead ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Meng Yao's and Su She's duo album The Collection of Torment out when

Also love the story you created with hiding from that guy who's following you, can't lie, I automatically imagined Meng Yao ๐Ÿ˜‚ He has that shifty but careful feel to him that for example Xue Yang does not have, perfect with those ominous tracks.

Loved this, I had same reactions emotionally to everything. I also adore how in the intro music (and in one other song with vocals) it starts all beautiful and then transitions into epic fighting final fantasy type of tune. Gets me pumped every time!! Zui Meng or Drunken Dream has to be my favourite instrumental song, and I read this amazing analysis of it once and now I cannot unhear the conversation the zither and the flute has in it (https://untamedconnotations.tumblr.com/post/616316935607615488/the-track-title-zui-meng-means-drunken-dream-i).

BTS stuff will come later, as I have specific plans for them. In the meantime there's more soundtrack, performances, interviews, etc etc. ๐Ÿ˜

Hi Brittany! I love your reactions to The Untamed, and I really enjoyed your reaction to the soundtrack! I'm not sure if you've mentioned this already, but were you planning on reacting to the Behind the Scenes as well? If not, I'd love to see your reactions to them as well as other Untamed content. Thank you so much for your reactions!

Ah I have no regrets buying the physical copy of this!! The soundtrack album is so beautiful along with the pictures. I'm in too deep 'cause I know when all these instrumentals play in the show lmao

wangxian love bot

I love how mad you get at beautiful things. Chinese scenery? Awesome music? Brittany is ready to *throw down*! :-D (Right after appreciating the hell out of it, of course.)

clmoryel

Ah yes, 16, which the soundtrack calls Rest in Peace, but which I call the eye-fucking song.

Gweniver Call

zui meng - I spent so long looking for it, going through track after track

Gweniver Call

There are some songs that also weren't included in this soundtrack that I really really wish were, and I'm not sure why! First and foremost is Cello Wuji, the main Wangxian theme played by a cello, which I'm pretty sure we hear more than once in the show so surely a recording of it must exist somewhere??? Then there's Chenqing's battle music that we hear during the battles at Nightless City, where there's the flute playing but under it some orchestral soundtrack is amping up and it's a fun time? And finally I really wish I could get my hands on Meng Yao's... theme? Maybe? Idk it's this really pretty mournful, orchestral thing that starts with the melody in the cello and then the full string section takes the theme and it sounds like a fairytale to me... We hear it for the first time in the Nie Mingjue flashback episode, when we first see Meng Yao in his Cinderella Mode. Then it comes up again in Guanyin Temple when Meng Yao is overpowered and/or trying to appeal to Xichen's mercy, I don't remember exactly when. I think that that music's really beautiful and it makes me sad that it's not included in the soundtrack!

you should definitely watch the fan made video "Wei Wuxian & Lan Wangji | Bury our Love" on YouTube, soooo good it has more than 2M views !!!

You didn't ask anyone to exposit on where all the music is from but I'm getting really excited about all of them as I listen through and I get really attached to soundtracks, so hopefully this won't be bothersome! 4. This is the music of The StraightsTM lol, I love that only the heterosexuals get violin for their themes and everyone else gets in on some sexe cello. At least I don't think this music ever happens for anything other than Yanli-Zixuan? 5. Lianhua Wu is the Lotus Pier music! I think you hear it for the first time right when the flashback begins... also I think "Lianhua Wu" might be the Mandarin for "Lotus Pier" just based on what it sounds like in the show, but I super don't know that for sure. 6. "I know these notes from somewhere but like fucking where" hee, they're from one of your favorite episodes I think! This music play when Wei Wuxian is taking his revenge on Wang Lingjiao and Wen Chao in Episode 20, we love to see it. 7. Xichen music!!! I'm pretty sure "Lie Bing" is the name of his instrument. It's such a unique sound against all the flute in the rest of the soundtrack and it really sounds so grounded and tranquil and beautiful, just like him... 8. THIS MUSIC FUCKING SLAPS ME EVERY TIME this is the music that plays when they part in the last episode, and I always associate it with that even though I later noticed it showing up earlier in the show as well. It just takes me back to that beautiful hill and all their Gay Longing 10. (Tangent gotta say it's really really cool that you are all emotional about this even though you can't explicitly remember where it's from that's so cool human memory is SO COOL.) Your emotional memory is correct though, this is the Worst And Saddest Song!! From Yanli's death, is the standout for me. And probably also earlier, like when the Yunmeng Trio cried in the rain about their parents' deaths, I don't remember for sure? This is always going to be Yanli's death music to me. I can just hear the screaming over it... 13. NO MISTAKING THIS ONE LOL. I associate this music with Wei Wuxian's death the most, but it's also the go-to Tragedy Music I think. We get it a lot in the episodes with the destruction of Lotus Pier, we get it during the Golden Core reveal scene in 46, I get it in my dreams... "OH GOD IT'S THIS" is right hjkgfhsjgkfh 15. Love some good Song of Clarity! And the Meng Yao Discord Remix slaps so much harder than we actually ever get to hear in the show fhjkshgkjfh I would take a qi deviation if I got to hear this bop first. 16. SEXE DUET MUSIC FUCK ME UPPPPPPPPPP The sexual tension Eye Contact when Wangxian play this duet in episode - 35, I think? Idk they play it like three times and it's sexy every time but the last time is ESPECIALLY UNABASHEDLY SEXY. 17. I loved your facial reaction when this started ghjfkshgjkfh 18. THIS OOOOOOONNNNNEEE. This is from the scene where Wangji has to leave Wuxian and A-Yuan behind in the burial mounds and they say goodbye, and it's the most perfect tragic yearning delicate gay beautiful thing I've ever heard in my LIFE??? Especially bc it isn't used as many times as most of the other soundtrack music, so it feels very special. I believe you hear this a second time when Wangji stands with Wuxian on the stairs of carp tower and confesses to him and it FLASHES BACK TO THAT GOODBYE SCENE and it's the most beautiful musical parallel I've ever witnessed in my LIFE 19. Wtf this is groovy as hell why didn't we hear it more omg. I have no idea where it appears in the show but it's a Whole Vibe

Julifinwe

The ost always gets me emotional, especially Zui Meng. :') The soundtrack for this show is just so good. But the OFFICIAL music videos for the character songs make me cry. Every time.

5 seconds into 'Wangji'.... Brittany: *softly* "this bitch"
