I love that little scene so much and was a bit sad it was cut from the reaction, but oh well...This is an episode where the viewers aren't the only ones overwhelmed by all the gay, WWX is very much there with us lol

2021-01-24 11:41:03 +0000 UTCI don't know from where I got to know this, but Nei clan cultivates resentful energy of the beasts and animals (the clan was founded by a butcher). That is the reason they all die early. If this is true, then the hypocrisy of the whole cultivation world astounds me. It clearly shows that the whole thing had less to do with Wei Ying's cultivation and more about the powerful weapon he had, the amulet. From Wei Ying's perspective, Lan Zhan giving the flute to him means him accepting of everything Wei Ying is and his cultivation method. I would like to associate this scene with the one where Wei Ying was rescuing wens from the camp. Wei Ying tells Lan Zhan that he would like to be killed by Lan Zhan if at all he has to fight with the world. Because, in this entire world, Wei Ying trusts Lan Zhan and his moral compass. If Lan Zhan kills him, then that would mean he entirely deserves it. So, him giving the flute means a lot to Wei Ying.

2021-01-23 21:07:35 +0000 UTCI agree with your interpretation of why Lan Wangji drank the alcohol. As for the flute, he was fixing it. Wei Wuxian made it in like 2 seconds in episode 2, so it didn't sound very good, so Lan Wangji was fixing the position of the holes for him.
