Monthly Update April 2025 + Rewards
Added 2025-04-08 16:52:22 +0000 UTCHi, all!
It's that time of month again! The check from Patreon has cleared and I'm one step closer to buying my own Victorian home with secret fucking passages, because secret passages are cool.
(Sadly, the cool houses near me are in the millions, so this is really just a baby step)
Okay, monster lovers, it's time to talk about what's going down in the Hawthorne-verse. But first!
Rewards: I have sent out the official Patreon rewards. For those who are new, these are freebies you can get from me as you accumulate pledges over time. This process is not automated, so if you think I missed you, comment below. Messaging me triples the time it takes to figure out if I missed you and I might not see it for weeks.
Halls of Magic 3: I intend to have the rough draft of this finished by this Friday. Here's a sneak peek at the new girl. I should warn you in advance that she's disappointed in you.
Master Class 6: This project has officially kicked off. I would say to expect a late summer/early fall release, since Jessica Three (the voice actor for the audiobooks) has us booked for June. The whole book needs to be written and finished by June 1st. So that's gonna be a huge priority for me this month and next.
HFHM Chapter (whatever I'm on): It's highly likely that this will be a one chapter month, so I'm going to focus on vampyr shenanigans. Part of that is finding out last week about the schedule for the Master Class audiobook. The other part is some personal changes around the ol' Hawthorne homestead that require more of my time. Nothing dire, by any means, but I needed to be very real with myself about what was possible in the 22 days ahead.
Patreon: Just another reminder that this Patreon will be switching to Subscriptions in July (full reasons in previous posts, in short, Apple wants more money). Obviously, there will be some changes, as the Subscription track offers a bunch of additional support for Creators that I never looked into beyond seeing "WTF, they won't let me use it." I intend to sit down with my Publisher (the man, the myth, the legend, Hugh F Goblin) once we make the shift and look at best options to ensure I'm still providing great content without email bombing you all. More on that over the summer.
As a side note, I've had more than a few people tell me they've had to discontinue Patreon for financial reasons. If you are struggling with money, please, prioritize yourself and your family. Yes, you can keep subbing for a dollar a month, but I don't ever want to be the reason that someone went hungry.
Hey, cool, you made it to the end. Titty tax.

It doesn’t look like I got the reward. Can you please check where I am in the rewards?

2025-04-13 16:01:56 +0000 UTCThey’re just a bonus so I haven’t been concerned with it, but I think I should have earned a reward or two and don’t think I have gotten them. Rewards or not, I appreciate all your hard work and I’m happy I can help support it!

2025-04-11 16:37:00 +0000 UTC1. Those are collaborations and I would have to split the income with the other authors and 2. I would have to delete all of them once they are published on KU and don't want my Patrons "renting" a story that only partially belongs to me.
