As it is almost mid-March, I wanted to give some updates to current projects. I've been going slower due to the number of projects that I'm working on simultaneously (5!).
The first project is the one I announced when I released I'm a Big Shot Now. The Tom and Jerry cartoon that belongs to Antonio. I'm almost at the 4 minute mark in that film in terms of clean up. After cleaning is finished, things progress quickly from there in terms of doing color, stabilization, etc. The video above shows the first 2 minutes that have been cleaned up. YouTube will make that a little harder to determine the difference due to compression. Watching in full screen will make it easier.
The second project is a public domain Betty Boop, Be Human, which I'm an doing for the Fleischer family project of restoring their family's films. This is a 35mm obtained from the Library of Congress. I'm almost at the 4 minute mark on this film too. However, this film requires more reconstruction of elements due to splices. You can see the work-in-progress of the opening titles that I had to reconstruct here: https://youtu.be/bsRLAZRnCqg
Another project that is almost ready is Terrytoons related. I was able to acquire a lot of 11 Barker Bill 16mms that I had scanned at 2k. I'm going to attempt a Blu-ray release similar to what Thunderbean does regularly. These won't be restored, but rather new scans of old films that need updating. I will add a few bonus cartoons as well. It should have 14 cartoons on it when everything is done.
