This week I am sending out 3 films to be scanned. I'm going with a different company this time that has a quicker turn around time. The previous scanner takes 4-6wks. The hope is, once received, I'll get these back in 1-2 weeks.
One film being scanned is an early (1938) Tex Avery film. This film has not been released since Laserdisc, possibly due to objectionable Native American portrayals. My print is a near mint, beautiful, 1978 Fuji film print. I have high hopes for this one.
Next is 1932's Big-Hearted Bosko. This has never seen an official release/restoration that I know of. It's only been released on public domain sets and is quite rough (https://youtu.be/X38ptlBcwtY). My print also includes the Sunset Production logo, but just eyeballing the film looks pretty clean. Question is, how good was the source from which my print was made; scratches on the source prints transfer over to newer prints. I won't know that until I receive it back.
Last is 1931's Jack and the Beanstalk. Someone else recently had their NTA print scanned (https://youtu.be/JpbZSamvZ1U). That individual was nice enough to give me his scan with which to work. I'll have two prints to use to restore this one. My has the UM&M logo instead.
