I feel that it is clearly and so obviously no coincidence that the army that the boys are forced to cut down are scarecrows or 'strawmen'. Not just so that they have not been forced to kill human beings, the show doesn't have to depict that graphic violence. But because of what the phrase straw man represents. Simple but very effective writing I feel. Freema and David's performances of this series so far I feel. Possiblely the best example so far of how dark The Doctor can be. A lesson to all that he is not to be crossed. This creeps out from time to time. Nurse Redfern's speech at the end is probably one of my favourite moments from a supporting character. Just so encapsulates the Danger of being in the Doctor's orbit. I think these are my favourite episodes from this series. Then that tribute to fallen soliders at the end just about completes this episode. This one makes me tear up as well.
