Supergirl Defeated
Added 2022-01-02 13:57:28 +0000 UTCHappy 2022 Patrons! This will be my first artwork of the new year. Everyone's favorite Kryptonian superheroine is back, and she's in quite some peril. I took inspiration from this custom artwork: https://www.deviantart.com/ragalangit/art/Supergirl-vs-Black-Flame-61772815 , as well as Supergirl #17 (1996). The villain walking away is Despero, and he's really knocked the wind out of Supergirl.
I thought hard about what I would have designed for a Supergirl 1996 comic cover. I placed the unconscious Supergirl front and center, gave her a peaceful sleeping face, and surrounded her with detailed rubble. That extra effort for the background really paid off. I think you guys will like this one!
