The small Southwestern Chicago suburb of Mokena, IL suffered its first murder in 25 long years in May of 2009. After a flurry of abrupt 911 calls and confusing allegations of child sexual abuse, first responders were confronted with a truly disturbing scene. An 18-year-old man immediately confessed to a gruesome murder. But he also claimed that he did it to protect his own sibling. Investigators would later uncover several concerning items in the graduating senior’s bedroom that would ultimately paint a much darker, and more sinister picture of the story he had previously told…
