Discord: What would you like from a private server?

Hi everybody! :)

Warning: "ok boomer" post incoming! XD

The new sharing method for exclusive art seems to have worked as expected! It does nonetheless presents some issues, the main one being that newcomers don't automatically have access to their content and would need to contact me first.
This method wouldn't work with a brand new created tier either, because I wouldn't have any patrons to DM.

Which leads me to this question, since directly posting the links on a private discord server would be easier for everybody. I would like to know what you would expect/like from a private server, because here is my issue: I barely use discord myself :/

Firstly, I do not chat a lot online and tend to keep my interactions with people to a minimum for a bunch of reason, among others trying not to procrastinate too much online.
Secondly, while I've joined a few servers over the years (even pro ones I should be using for IRL networking), I barely keep track of what is going on in them due to lack of time and also inconvenience.
I'm one of those boomers who simply doesn't get discord: it does have its own pros (after all I use it for my IRL job and I admit it's extremely useful for certain things), but the idea of an infinite chat window with multiple users, talking about multiple things, with multiple disorganized conversations jumping from one to another, is just so inconvenient compared to a good old forum, where everything is neatly ordered with subforums, topics, etc...
Yes, you can have channels on discord, but it's hardly the same.

So I'm a bit clueless about on how it's supposed to work. I mean I know how it works, I've been using it for some years, but whatever is so great about it keeps simply flying over my head because to me "things were better before, 20 years ago" (ok boomer! XD).

Not mentioning I don't have time to deal with potential dramas and moderation, meaning I'll need to delegate that.

In other words, if I create a private discord server it's probable I'll hardly be on it, other than to post the regular updates and share my content more securely. :/
For me it would be a place for you guys to interact a bit between each other, maybe post a bit of fan art/personal art, talk about other things, and wait for my updates.

Would that be an okay use for you, or are there other things you specifically expect from a private discord server?
