Added 2025-03-16 22:37:43 +0000 UTCI have this vintage fur scarf, made by my grandma because she was working as a dressmaker in furriery when she was younger. It is so soft and warming, I would never wear it just as a decoration or ''determination of social status'', because it is real fur and probably expensive, but for me it is rather like a natural, ecological thing, in the sense of re-using what is already made and for the fact that it is animal fur, it has to be appreciated - because of the animal and its sacrifice.
I generally hate throwing away things irresponsibly, because especially fashion and the vintage stuff, was made with some intention of some person, not meant to be just thrown away and we just running to buy new and more because of the consumer illusion that we ''need'' new and more... I always admired the Inuit and other native people who process everything from the animals they hunt, no waste - meat as nutrition and fur and leather as a protection against cold.
