This might have been my favorite game yet, and I don't think Ken is getting enough appreciation for how well he played! No one even considered that he could have been the vigor-killed organ grinder, and Dom so trusted Ken, that he trusted his mostly poisoned information the whole game, and in the end, that won it (in my mind) for the evil team!

My observation is based on a lot of cases where a single night of poison throws off an amnesiac for the rest of the game. I'm not saying this game was particularly bad or that it was mishandled, only that STs should be careful because amnesiacs are the most vulnerable to a single poisoning taking them down the wrong path for the rest of the game.

I do feel like (on a rewatch lol) that the way it was handled in this episode was a fine way of doing that. Dom's ability was only changed slightly from what it originally was and most of his information was what you'd get for a regular droisoning anyway which let him work it out in the first place. The big oversight was less that Dom was poisoned and more that everyone forgot that Ken could've been a Vigor minion poisoning him. If they realised that possibility, then it still would've been perfectly valuable info when inverted. Really, the only bad setup for an Amne is a Vortox game so I'd just never put them on the same script because that's actively bs for one player due to incredibly bad luck. Needing to invert their info to figure out what to ask and THEN invert the answers as well... You'd basically never figure it out even if it was something dirt simple to compensate.

Dan had it solved again but no-one bothers to listen to him. Poor Dan. I appreciate your efforts and was rooting for you. I think one of the biggest tells of most evil, esp in this group, is that they are the loudest, the ones with the opinions, they will guide the conversation- what evil need to do but if you just sit and listen to and made a mark in your pad each time someone voiced their ‘opinion’ or shared their ‘info’ or hard claimed early then your tally at the end of the game would point to evil.

I thought Holly was crazy killing Ken off so early, but on that final day I don't think anybody even mentioned in passing that he MIGHT be evil; they didn't even consider that he was anything but the Puzzle Master. No suspicion on him at all. Her plan worked like a charm.

The Amnesiac is one of my favorite roles and it does indeed have a rough go on NRB, but I disagree that it's always underperformed. The first instance of it on NRB where Isaac was the Amnesiac with the power of "Select a role. You learn a letter of the name of the person with that role.", he got a bingo and his power was instrumental in figuring out who the evil team was. So, while it's been shown poorly since, that first showing did showcase how good a role it can be.

This might be my favorite episode ever! Holly, that was absolutely brilliant. You made some amazing moves that were incredibly risky but paid off so well. Absolutely brilliant! And Adam, the misdirection at the end was so well timed, just an incredible performance by Evil this time around. Bravo!

I will say I think by nature the amnesiac is very vulnerable to being drunk, as the ST could tell them incorrect info about their current ability, change their ability to something else entirely, lie to them when they guess their ability correctly, or do the OPPOSITE of any of those if the truth is harmful to the good team. All it takes is one night of poisoning to set the amnesiac on the wrong path for the rest of the game. I think the amnesiac is one of the few cases where the ST should not instinctively give a drunk/poisoned amnesiac the information that helps the evil team most, but should instead hold back and only mess with the amnesiac slightly. Unlike other characters the amnesiac has basically no way of discovering if they have been poisoned. Giving them slightly incorrect information or a warm instead of a bingo would help a lot in making the amnesiac playable in games with poisoning or drunkenness.
