I watched the preview and ~~sinicization of Xinjiang seems to be on speed run without consent~~. I take back sinicization characterization after watching the full video essay. The situation is serious, the suffering is real and the anti -(terrotist, extremist) policies did affect every Uighur in Xinjiang to varying degrees. I could not but recollect similar Government policies that will eventually destroy linguistic minorities, ethnic identities and cultural markers even in democracies that became successors to colonial empires in Asia like India, Indonesia. Minorities have a tough life in large nation states in Asia.
