Patreon Poll – Spin-off Game Premise Brainstorm 🧠

The second game won’t be the main focus just yet, but I still want to get the brainstorming process rolling early.

I'm going away today for a week and the poll for what I work on next is literally neck and neck between the side content and story content, so please do vote if you have not already, the suspense is killing me 😆.

It’s pretty clear though that the second game won’t be the main focus just yet. But, I still want to get the brainstorming process rolling early. That way, when the time comes to give it my full attention, I’ll already know the direction we’re headed.

So, as I’m literally walking out the door for my break with family, I wanted to make sure to post the first poll for the new game. I’ll also be posting a few quick polls further down the line to help shape the early ideas, as well as a poll for the winning update option once I’m back and the results of the update poll are final (fingers crossed I won’t have to make the deciding vote as I honestly can’t decide, it’s why I wanted to leave it to you guys).

First things first - the the second game’s main plot premise. This choice will influence not just the tone of the story, but also the type of transformation trope the new MC undergoes.

The game will be far shorter than AHLT (likely the length of Act 1) and will be released in stages but has character customisation as one of its main focuses. The idea being that in all options the player character will stumble upon a “temporary” transformation. Depending on your in-game choices however, that transformation may end up less temporary than initially thought.

Here are the ideas I’ve been playing with:

🟡 Option 1: Winning a Costume Party

The MC tries to win a high-stakes costume party with the help of some cutting-edge tech from a shady supplier.

My thoughts: Concept may be a bit overdone but is a classic so I felt it had to be added.

Possible Transformation Types:

• Skin suit

• Auto-wardrobe

🔴 Option 2: Criminal on the Run

The MC is a fugitive trying to avoid capture and stumbles across the perfect disguise that slowly becomes a little too perfect.

My thoughts: Personal favourite tbh as it feels fresher with a lot of avenues for a less willing MC to be forced into transformations to not appear suspicious or risk capture by avoiding transformations.

Possible Transformation Types:

• Skin suit

• Holographic appearance

🟢 Option 3: Witness Protection

The MC is an informant with dirt on a corrupt politician and so is placed in a strange but secure disguise as part of an extreme witness protection programme.

My thoughts: Another favourite of mine for similar reasons to option 2. The initial idea was inspired by a short comic by Kannel.

Possible Transformation Types:

• Auto-wardrobe

• Holographic appearance

• Skin suit

🔵 Option 4: Virtual Reality

The MC playtests a new immersive VR console but is locked into the previous players avatar, a female one.

My thoughts: Maybe a little overdone concept too, but could be interesting juggling two worlds. Also I can only think of one transformation type, so a bit less varied.

Transformation Type:

• Nanotech (Choices in game change you IRL)

🟣 Option 5: Influencer Wearable

The MC signs up to beta test a new wearable device. It tracks your social media use, slowly changing you to match your algorithm.

My thoughts: Maybe a little too similar to AHLT with the social media aspect etc. but a more unique concept. However, again only one transformation type.

Transformation Type:

• Nanotech (Viewing habbits dictate changes)
