The spirit string is just one of those Japanese cultural things where fate or destiny ties two people (mainly lovers) together with a red string, so it’s not something demon slayer got from yuyu. If I remember correctly Boa Handcock did the same with Luffy in onepiece where she imagined a red string. Kuwabara is just using his high level spirit awareness to find her and is calling it the red string lol.
