In honor of R. Verner's birthday, I collected/revamped some writings and questions about them to share with you. 🥰

JR-mancers will be wearing this at some point in Book Two!

It might make you wonder how a certain Verner heir managed to get your measurements just right, possibly from covert (or not-so-covert) admiring? 👀

R's Gift: A ritzy outfit R selected with your style in mind. The fabric is of the highest quality, and it fits tailor-made to your body with an almost uncanny precision.

(Slightly Spicy 🔥) Question: "R's reaction to their partner wearing their clothes?

Answer:

Their clothes?

Oh, no you mean their wardrobe.

At first, R may be caught off guard seeing you in their suit jacket or wearing one of their linen button downs, especially with how fastidious they are with keeping them wrinkle-free and dry cleaner cleaned. However, the fact that you would want to wear their clothes takes a second to process. They like it; they like you wearing something of theirs for others to see… It's hot to them. (Also, sweet, but shh.) They will suggest things for you, possibly turning it into a fashion show with how they urge you to try just one more thing, though you know they will always be your biggest fan. I can see this modeling turning into something else quite quickly when R offers to help you backstage when trying on new outfits. 😏 They also like coordinating colors, designers, and even collections with their beloved so others will see you're both quite the pair! 

(R will use their ties in other more seductive ways too, but that's slightly off topic. 👀)

Question: "How would R react to a drunk MC?"

Answer: 

(This would be choice-dependent in the series. 🥂)

R finds it fun, possibly adorable or amusing depending on what kind of drunk you are when with them. They will sit with you and listen to your rambles, bad jokes, philosophical musings, or whatever else without any judgement. Getting you home for the night is something they take personally, helping you into their convertible and then up the stairs to your room to ensure you get safely into bed. R won't leave until they know that you're all settled and safe for that night.

They would be light-hearted, soft (in their own way), and encouraging!

"Would you like another blanket?"

You blink owlishly at R, extending a hand out to them before letting it flop back on the bed as if your palm was made out of cast iron and you can no longer bear to lift it up.

"I'm going to take that as a 'yes'," R gently teases you, spreading another blanket over you and taking your hand for a second. They glance down at your joined hands, smiling faintly to themself. "Your hangover is going to be the thing of legends, but I hope you don't forget all of tonight…"

🌲 TFS: Book Two Teaser,  R Can Say This to a Romanced Returning Visitor 🌲

(It's a very short teaser, but the possibilities hurt. Wait until you trigger it, assuming you do, and then better realize why R says this on a replay. 🙃)

Question: What room theme would R select?

R would fall into the Cat's Cradle 'trap' that I know some of your MCs have experienced. The sheer amount of pink in that room wouldn't bother them. It's the painting that makes the room a hard pass. R requests (politely demands) to switch to Royal Retreat, if Mrs. Dorran isn't around to hear. (They don't want to upset her or the creepy children in the picture.) If she is, then R would wait and go pester S for a sleepover or flop on the couch. (I feel like S would likely go get R, even if R was trying to tough it out on the couch to not bother anyone… But they would playfully toss a pillow at R first. XD)

Question: "How would R react to an MC who physically lights up like a candle whenever they walked into a room? Like big grin, genuine happiness, wave at them from across the room and don't say anything but continue to stare at them with soft eyes and an even softer smile?"

Answer:

This is early in romance and when you're relatively 'new' to Fernweh.

R: 🤨. There is a post on Tumblr like: 'girls think I'm hating when I stare at them, but no, sis, I am appreciating the art' or something like that, which fits how R would take this… They really wouldn't know what to do if you sincerely seemed happy at having them around and expressed it so freely and kindly. It's a bit of a 'does not compute' type of reaction, except R may tease you about it or flirt to undermine what it means to them. Some seamless examples include:

• "Missed me, did you? I can see why." 😎

• "I was only gone for a few hours; maybe next time you should come with me?" 😉

• "Be careful; your face will freeze with that dopey (infuriatingly cute) expression, [Surname]"

R tries not to acknowledge that they are happy that they can possibly make you happy… >.>

"My 'buttercup' is your '[Surname]'? Guessed as much," Rosie off-handedly observes. Reese straightens up after she says that. "Didn't expect you to bring a friend without a tail…"

"We aren't—I would not call it that."

Reese speaks up before you're able to return pleasantries, though the rare uncertain look he gives you contrasts his swift delivery. There wasn't anything cutting about his tone; it was reflexive. Real friendship has never come easily to the Verner heir; you saw that as children and even now. He's watching your reaction, potentially assessing it because that's safer, until he elaborates.

"It's deeper than that—something more, I think."

He sounds hopeful.
