Its meaning links to: bright, light, and beautiful, which all seem to be qualities A. Corvin possesses with their energetic nature. It has multiple origins across different cultures since the root name it stems from tends to differ! I primarily selected it for the Slavic and old Greek connotations about brightness and the ability: 'to shine'.

I didn't account for the origin of the word lying in middle high german (basically middle ages) where they used Schade to mean damage. I was only thinking about the modern spelling/word and got confused because Dutch does indeed use the old way of spelling Schade to mean damage as well! Only german changed throughout the years, thanks for educating me! ππ

But if Naia gets secure with Reese, C better look out... Naia is polite and seemingly polished, but that impulsive side she tries to hide can quickly explode into a can of ass whooping being opened--she knows how to fight, and is not afraid of doing it (besides, you know, the whole adrenaline/endorphin rush thing!). With Alek, the name fits. All of my MCs get along with him. And I finally did a run recently where he has a crush on Naia and kind of love it. The easygoing flirtation is a nice respite from the unresolved sexual tension with R, plus Naia doesn't have to force herself to behave more controlled around Alek, so it's just fun. I'm going to do a couple of runs with Naia and R, because I want to see where the flirtation goes, but also want to see Alek be happy with Bee. They both deserve it. Raven obviously doesn't flirt with Alek, but feels close to him. Aizhan... will flirt her ass off with him, and I kind of want to see Mal's reaction to it...

I mainly used the 'to damage' meaning when selecting it because of how C can come across--from their barreling entry into Turn the Page to how they can behave around the MC/the MC's bonds. I used this and sources from multiple websites: "German, Dutch, and Danish: from schade βdamageβ, a derivative of schaden βto do damageβ, generally a nickname for a thug or clumsy person, or, more particularly, a robber knight, who raided othersβ lands. Some characteristic forenames: German Gerhard, Kurt, Erwin, Merwin, Dieter, Erhard, Frieda, Fritz, Helmut, Jochen, Johannes, Juergen. 2024-05-15 16:23:52 +0000 UTCThe Schade explanation surprised me, I am german and the word "damage" in german is Schaden as you yourself said. Schade means pity, they are different words but it still works either way really! Loved the Clyde explanation, I think the meaning is perfectly fitting for him. If I had to describe him I would probably say a gentle flowing stream.

I love him deeply s2 As for A, they keep getting higher and higher in my rank. Idk why, but they give me the impression that, if Lara was to devise a plan that was dangerous for her somehow, the only person aboard of it would be A, they'd trust her enough and support her... idk, just a feeling. And I absolutely adore them. I want to be able to huug them even if they have a crush on us in the alphaaa t.t (but alas, I couldn't) As for C, they really do be having manor rivalry behavior and I wanna see more of this as the book develops s2 Last, but not least, Trent s2 He's related to Clyde, so how could he be bad, right? The few interactions we had with him made me so curious and happy (rsrs my small little unrequinted platonic crush just because he's so sweet). I NEED TO SEE THAT WATERFALL! More and more Fernweh gives me vibes of being in another realm :')

As an Alex myself, I already knew the meaning and yes I got a little happy reading about it. I also admit that when C showed up I immediately went to google their last name to see if there was any meaning to it because of course it will have. Damage indeed β I have to say, as a C lover (boo me all you want Im right) their name didn't fail to intrigue me even more about them. Theory brain is braining Also the waterfall?? We're going there in some of the next books right? The name drop has to mean something. (Maybe on a next date with Mal, they seem to have a penchant for water π) (Much like a certain ??? I know ππ)
