Lacuna Rambles/Thoughts/Gif Reacts #1: Pastry Paramours 🍪💘

Some of you might recognize this header image from our recipe post: B's Bodacious Brownies, which was shared a while back. However, these brownies can come up again in Book Two! 😋

While their deliciousness is important, it's the why and how that can be even more so.

A. Corvin's dynamic with B. Warrick is contributing heavily to the variation I've been writing that's threaded all throughout the Corvin family dinner chapter. It's possible that B will bake a batch of brownies as a host gift for the Corvin's as a way to reciprocate A's earlier sweet gesture, assuming the MC actually passed the cookies along and didn't trash or eat them. >.> You'll get different outcomes that account for more than the treat—how A behaves, what they're wearing, how J takes to this development, how the MC reacts to what happens, etc. will help form these scenes.

Mrs. Corvin can chime in on these exchanges, depending on how/when they play out. 👀

I'm going to tease one of the many B/A variations below! (From it's tone, you'll guess that the MC in this one is encouraging, if not 'shipping', of the optional, reader-selected dynamic. This only occurs if 1. the MC is romancing someone other than B, 2. they have an idolized/positive past history with A, and 3. you choose to trigger the crush and then support it.)

We will come to learn how J feels about this potential dynamic.

Becca and Alina

When her eyes settle on Becca again, you have your answer, though it's only confirmed when Alina moves to greet your friend with a hug. It's polite, possibly even kind, but you're more attuned to Becca's body language. She accepts it without pause.

"It's nice to see you again."

"You too," Becca replies. "I've been looking forward to this since you told me about the cobbler… Even if razzleberries don't technically exist." Her smile broadens after saying that, a subtle challenge. "I looked them up."

"Yeah, they do. They're a Fernweh delicacy," Alina cheekily disagrees. "I'll show you one."

For now, you remain quiet to let the others exchange greetings and brief pleasantries, though you're avidly watching the two of them.

 James shoots you a curious look; however, he says nothing about the berry banter.

Beckett and Alex
