Specifically, another literary parallel as to why the JR route is called the 'JR' route.
There is a hint in one of the songs on their playlist that is a Romeo and Juliette theme because there are some parallels with that tragedy and the route in TFS. So far in Books One and Two, you've seen glimpses of it from how A. Corvin acts around R. Verner. Specifically, we have scenes in Turn the Page where A is shocked that R would immediately volunteer to deliver dinner to their beloved sibling along with A being somewhat hesitant to serve R after that irritating encounter with C. A JR-mancer MC is quick to point out that R wasn't the problem. It suggests that J's sibling is reluctant around the Verner heir. Here's a quote from Book One:
"It's too late to go back into the woods tonight," R concludes. "We can rain check it."
"I wouldn't expect you of all people to stay," A replies, half-heartedly shaking their glow stick to prime its chemical contents.
There are a lot of dynamics to untangle within TFS!
We have yet to see Ms. Verner directly interact with any of the ROs aside from R, so those exchanges will be intriguing. I have also teased before that there will be a Corvin family dinner!
The main point of this ramble is: JR -> Romeo and Juliette to make you start pondering why. (I personally like how JR sounds better than RJ, not that I'm a stickler about it. It's more flowy~.)
It won't be as tragic of an ending, or I hope your MC being a part of the trio prevents it. π

I rly need to do the J/R route one of these days. I already know the mc I have in mind for them- a lovely fellow named Soldeen! He'd truly be so enamored at seeing how close the two are together. I love reading these tidbits, but I need to put them into practice!

2023-09-22 00:02:07 +0000 UTCmight I add that JR + MC and then Mal would probably add another level of angst and drama that I'm interested in seeing! I'm usually not one for poly routes (simply because I'm very picky about the execution) but I can see a 'MC playing the wingman for JR just to then be swept up by a sneaky Mal' situation happening if a player chooses to go down that route which in all honesty would make the poly route very appealing to me (oh the conflict, the longing, the angst)

HMMM, are the Corvins and Verners two houses alike in dignity? π That would make the Corvins one of Fernweh important families, although they don't seem to have the same level of weight as a Verner π
