★THE FEES WILL NOT BE HAPPENING!★

Patreon has heard our complaints and requests to keep things the way they are, and has decided NOT to continue with the fees! :D

For those of us that lost some faith in Patreon this past week, hopefully this is a step in regaining that trust back from us Creators and Patrons again, and may we all experience some growth with this upcoming new year!

Yes, what Todd said. And Kim, try Shift+Enter for line breaks.

Basically this. I wouldn't be happy about having to pay the extra fee, but I might have been able to accept it the same way I have to pay VAT on each pledge. But charging multiple times per each additional pledge you make... Now that's just greedy corporate money grubbing. EDIT: Why does Patreon insist on posting your comment when you hit enter? Sigh... Anyhow, what I was going to say is that it's stretching it when they're making me pay extra for the loss of convenience for ultimately the benefit of Patreon and not whoever I'm pledged too. This was never to support the creators, but rather to further their own profits. That's unacceptable and I can't trust Patreon ever again after this. Paying over $1.6 for every $0.95 I give to the creator. That's 60%+ that goes to someone other than the creator. I could accept paying more (because you honestly shouldn't have to) if it was for a fairer reason. But it didn't come to that, so thanks for standing up for us Patrons =)

I would have been fine with it if they applied the new fee once across my entire monthly bill. It was insisting on breaking everything up into per-pledge charges AND hitting every single one of them with the new fee that completely ruins Patron for me. I still want to see a shopping cart for new pledges, new fee or no new fee. To me the whole selling point of Patreon is batching together small payments and then blocking them back out to creators. Patreon should do MORE of that, not less.

Agreed, my trust for them has plummeted as well, and while I'm glad that they've shown that they're open to listening, I'm always going to have to have one foot out the door just in case! :\

Yeah, but I'd rather that they take money from the Creators than the Patrons themselves. I understand that Patreon is, at its core, a company, and I've never had any illusions about that, but I was very upset that they were taking money from the people who were being kind enough to pledge in the first place! I don't mind if they want me to pay a larger fee (I am using their platform, after all), if it means that it leaves the Patrons alone, and thankfully, on the Patreon forums, I saw that I was not the only Creator who felt that way :) Thank you for your kindness, hun, it means a lot and I hope you will like all of the naughty Goodies this month! ;D

"and are currently assessing other options" sounds a lot like we're going to find other ways to shake more money out of you. Nevertheless... Rejoice, for the wicked witch is dead! And what better way to celebrate than to raise my pledge to a certain feline martial arts practitioner. =)
