Astral Sea

The ambient purple glow pulses as you gaze across the sea of stars. Islands, and rivers of cosmic matter float in a spiral dance around strange orbs. Magical phenomenon? Or perhaps small planets...

This one is another similar to the earlier Frozen Wilderness pack. It features three individual maps which can be used on their own or stitched together for a seamless regional map. Each individual map measures 60x30 squares and fully combined gives you a whole 60x90 squares of cosmic wilderness to explore. This map also functions well and lines up at 30x45 squares, so you can easily plop a new grid onto the gridless file for something more compact.

Landmark features are a river (DM's choice on rate of flow, depth, or if it is just a mist covering the ground), path downwards, floating platforms, magical orbs, bridges, and ruins that you can design a small puzzle around. The southern bridge can be used as a dock for a ship of some sort, or a causeway offerings may have once been thrown off.

Let me know in comments below if you'd like to see premade 30x45 versions released for ease of use. They would be available in some capacity for every pledge tier, and not just Archmages.

As always, a huge thanks to everyone for checking out and supporting the artwork. You can find all the files for your pledge tier, ready to download in the links below. For Archmage maps, you can find your download split into three parts due to hitting the upload size limit. I love painting these bigger maps, but am working on ways to reduce the final file sizes without compromising image quality too much for future releases.

Excellent! Yeah, I couldn't find many astral sea maps to reference, which is shame because there is so much potential for weird and cool features. There were definitely a few other extra maps painted during this set which will be released as free singles later next month.

Wow. I really love this! There are never enough astral sea maps in my opinion, and this one is so epic and fully of oddities (which is perfect for the astral sea!) I love it!
