0413 - Senator Mendoza

We heard Mendoza mentioned the first time we caught a glimpse of the McBain movie, but now we get to see him in all his villainous glory.

And, of course, his demise.

We see another one of his scenes in season 4's "Last Exit To Springfield":

And he appears in a McBain sequel in season 23's "The D'oh-cial network":

Now I even get to do that pedantic thing where I point out that this is actually an actor, not a real Senator, within the world of the Simpsons. The Actor (name unknown!) can be seen in season 7's "Homerpalooza", where he plays the tymphony drum in the London Symphony Orchestra:

Although sadly he is replaced a couple of shots later.

I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder. Later, in season 16's "The Seven-Beer Snitch" he is seen at the opening of a new Springfield concert hall. He leaves with everyone else soon after the classical music begins, because Springfielders are uncultured swine.

In season 17's "My Fair Laddy" he attends the science far and sees how Lisa has transformed Willie into a sophisticated gentleman.

And in his third role as an "enjoyer of things", he watches the stage musical "There's no Business Like Moe Business", the final segment of season 21's "Treehouse of Horror XX":

I bet whenever you think of Senator Mendoza - as I'm sure you do daily - you remember him only for his role in the hit McBain series, but we've shown here that he actually has more appearances not in that film. I hope you've learned a valuable lesson here about prejudice or something.
