Just remember that with one episode by week (and lots and lots and lots of fillers), there have been more than a decade between these episodes and the flashbacks (even if it was annoying somedays). - for instance, the first episode Gaara met Naruto at the start the Chunin exams was aired in Japan in Feb. 2003 - the ep. 388 was aired in Nov. 2014. I went from childhood to my first serious job in this gap, so these flashbacks were not too annoying. But yeah, when I rewatch these episodes on the same rhythm as you, it's boring as hell ^^
