Update & Poll: Is the yearbook popup annoying?

I'm now working on Anna's scene. I think I've figured out the setup, but I'd like to continue past what I've currently got. Big thanks to everyone that helped me proof read it and a special thanks to Dubsington who gave me really detailed feedback on the whole thing.
Including all that stuff, today I finally got around to adding credits to the game!

The yearbook popup is in a big green bar at the bottom and it can obscure your view of some text and some links. This is most likely a bad thing, but I'm not sure how annoying it really is. I also am struggling to come up with an alternative that works on both mobile and desktop at the same time.
What I'm thinking of doing is making the Yearbook button just flicker for a few seconds if you get a new entry. If the menu is closed, the button you press to open it will flicker instead.
This means you won't see text like, "You got a new yearbook entry for x", though. Maybe I'll have to keep track of which entries are new and old for that.
