Greetings Patrons - NEWS

Hiya folks, Cobalt here.

I'll be posting the second of this month's patron request images in a day or so, but first I wanted to take this opportunity to once again thank you all for being my Patrons.

I would also like to explain why I haven't been very active this month. Believe it or not, it's actually because I want you folks to get the most from the money you spend on me.

As some of you will know, there's a website out there called yiff.party. This website steals content from Patreon accounts like mine and reposts it, for free. It does this by use of an automated bot that watches Patreon accounts for any "new posting" messages, generates a fake email address, signs up to Patreon with it, makes a phony pledge to the targeted Patreon account, and then grabs whatever the newest posting was, and uploads it to yiff.party. All automated. All done in the blink of an eye. By the time the screen refreshes to tell me it's uploaded, it's already been stolen, reposted, and generated a phony pledge.

Hopefully, that is all about to end. Patreon has just added a new feature - it's still in beta, but I have just been added to that beta test program, so it's going to go live on my Patreon sometime in the next 24 hours.

The feature is called "charge upfront" - and that's basically what it is. at present, anyone can create a phony patreon account with phony personal information, gain access to a Patreon artist's gallery by making a phony pledge, and have a free ride until the end of the month rolls around when it's time to fork over some actual money - at which point the artist has to manually remove the bot account from the group.

Well, not anymore. My understanding of this new feature is, once it's enabled, anybody making a pledge will be charged their first month's patronage upfront, and will NOT be able to access group content until that payment goes through.

Which means, yiff.party's ability to grab free content by making fake pledges may be about to dry up. So, I have been holding off making postings until I got the final word that I'd been granted the use of this new feature.

And I just got the email asking me to verify.

And I responded for them to switch it on.

So, sometime in the next 24 hours, I shouldn't have to worry that the art that I post here will be posted anywhere else, except by me. And that means that anything I make which I want only you Patrons to have, will be only in your hands, and nobody else's.

This also means that I shouldn't have to delete a bunch of fake pledges at the beginning of every month.

At least, that's the working theory. Let's see how it goes.

Again, thanks for being here, and thanks for putting up with all this.

More soon.
