Yes, that and a lot of stuff happening in parallel: I want to control a voltage DAC, an I-source DAC, an I-sink DAC and I want real current and voltage feedback. Everything with the highest possible sample rate ("Arbitrary Power Waveform Generator"?) For that purpose I could have a central CPU with interfacing capabilities and the ability to fill the RAM of each of the 3 channel-FPGAs with samples. Then I'd link their clocks together and have them simply play back their samples. In that time the CPU has nothing to do, so it can read and display the real time voltage and current vlaues at its own timing

Never took off working with FPGAs really, what can be their possible use here ? Are you having time critical controls that has to run with precise timing here ?
