Greasy goggles

The nice glass-lensed UVEX pair from Mr. Hightechstuff is a fine pair of protective eyewear, but better suited for higher wavelengths. So I got another pair from a surplus shop and sure enough: Smells like an old army depot and is extraordinarily greasy. BUT: OD14 at 1060 14 at 840 nm NEODYMIUM-GALLIUM ARSENIDE it says on the plastic lens. Seems good for my 977 nm laser?

@1:50 it actually looks like an external coating has started to flake off the glass - perhaps attacked by the grease?
