Difficult is good, but ...

... getting into DIY quadcopters is just overwhelming. I got this Beebee 66 micro racing quadcopter and there is absolutely no info available anywhere. They just assume that everyone knows about transmitters and receivers, iBus and PPM, betaflight and angle mode, accelerometer calibration, arming, ........

I am thinking about bypassing all that (artifically ?) complicated stuff and just controlling the brushless motor drivers with a microcontroller directly. But then again it might be complicated for a reason?

Either way there will be a LoRa controlled long-range quadcopter at some point.

I even got that extra strong braided fishing line, that someone suggested for the antenna mast.

What Volodymyr said. Fun to watch you try, but that way lies madness.

This should do the trick. :) <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iURdanOCFIA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iURdanOCFIA</a>

yeah if you get 70Kilo braid - that will be a tough job to snap in a gale! it'll cut through the mast anchorages first I reckon - Watch your fingers!!!!! I have fetched 40Kg Ling up 250m from the bottom of lochs effortlessly (except the mad thrashing around) with that stuff and I could feel every little movement all the way to the bottom - absolutely no stretching. I don't fish with anything else now.

I may be pampered a bit by my 3DR Solo experiences, but there wasn't even something like a connection diagram for the Beebee 66 telling me what to solder where. Neither is there any info about the flight controller because it's their own miniaturized clone of a copy of a branch of something else. Ah well I think I got it now more or less :)

For help with the quad check out Joshua bardwell or Bruce Simpson. They have beginner tutorials for RC stuff. It's really not that complicated.
