Joshua Citarella

In this episode, we are joined by artist, thinker, and Internet cultural writer Joshua Citarella. In this episode, we chatted about socialism and its flaws, where market socialism fits into a conception of capitalism, and if there is an end to capitalism that we foresee. It was an interesting conversation to wrestle with and finally have a conversation where we are Bridging with ideas further left than us! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Was halfway through when I wrote this, finished now and yeah this was excellent, these are the bridges we need. Didn't expect Albert Hirschman, network states and moldbug to be brought up. Reinforces my guest recommendation too. The Glen Weyl, Audrey Tang and Plurality community is all about building a democratic alternative to the NRx-network states-no voice only exit vs AI God-Technocrat-totalitarian visions for the future. They share an understanding of the importance of art, film, games, music in the reimagination of political economy. The consensus building mechanisms they're using in Taiwan give me a lot of optimism.

Yes! More of this, would love to see Glen Weyl on here to talk about political economy for the future and moving beyond the private-public, state-atomized individual dichotomy. Also interesting thoughts on voting, consensus, identity and more.
