Having slept on it, I feel the best way to go is a separate steam version set in college.
I like the game the way it is and want to keep it as I had originally envisioned it. While it may be a little more work to make a new version for steam, it will be worth a little extra llama power. This is still a ways off from happening, and in the meantime, I have some very fun stuff in the works right now ;)
