About YF graphic effects/illumination + clinic for event
Added 2019-01-14 20:17:13 +0000 UTCSince the beginning I've chosen a simple style on illumination, an universal one for every scenario without shadows, little highlights, no post-processing etc. It works well but sometimes makes the game not look as good as it can.
The post-processing effects -applies over the rendered image- can affect heavily to the performance, to the point that can make the game unplayable on Android phones that otherwise run smoothly the game at 60fps, so it won't be used in short term.
A better illumination on other hand can be implemented with little or no difference in performance, so the illumination will be changed in future versions.
All of this came back to my mind while I was modeling and implementing this tiny new scenario for a short event in game, it's just a random clinic:
