The continuation of The Kostrov Traces Illustrations and this time we're at the very beginning of book 1, where we first meet Rick, or Kyran, as Kendle calls him, and learn about his job as a prolific street fighter. He's keeping a secret, though. A few different secrets from a few different individuals that are making this travel plan of his a lot more urgent than he may like it to be.

Some context - Rick was still grieving Loretta when he got shot at work. Now grieving his mobility as well, he got unjustly fired and backstabbed by the local authorities he worked for, and to top it off, his mother-in-law (who still believes Rick was the one who killed Loretta) tried to use his spinal injury to rekindle the custody case and try to take Maggie away from him and FJ.
