Toon Brands

Hey guys! These are all the toon brands I created so far! Here's their inspirations!

• Acme = Supreme 

The words both mean "the best" and Acme was used in many old cartoons, ala Looney tunes.

• Johnny Quicktrigger = Tommy Hilfiger

Glovie pun! Nothing exceptionally clever. In fact most of these will be glovie puns or allude to glovies. I did this because it helps hint at their influence and supremacy.

• Will Whippet: FETCH = Ralph Lauren: POLO

So this one is Fauna Prime inspired! I chose "fetch" because it's a chic thing to say but also alludes to a sport (or at least sport adjacent thing) dogs do, similar to horses and polo.

• IGNITE ( an indirect mix of CHANEL and GUCCI)

Ignite's logo is a two bomb "overlap" that is supposed to be similar to the CHANEL logo, however the logo mania design I will utilize it for is straight up inspired by the cross pattern that GUCCI uses. 

• Warnell Bors = Michael Kors

Another Looney Tunes reference, or at least to the company. The MK pattern is one I wanted to implement occasionally and so I created the WB insignia! 

• Bonobo Vyne = Calvin Klein

Bonobo's are monkeys and this is another fauna reference.

• NECAJ by Inky Necaj (FENDI)

This was one of my favorite ones, however it's VERY convoluted on how it came to be. Essentially FENDI is endorsed by Nicki Minaj, in fact she has her own line with the brand. Well I love the logo mania print of this brand due to her infatuation with it and so I created a fictional celebrity (and by proxy designer?) inspired by her! The brand is owned and created by Inki (or Inky) 

• Fru Fru Aloo (inspired by Forever 21, Baby Phat, SEPHORA etc.)

Referenced only twice in the comics I believe this is the "girly" hip store! Honestly, the name is just meant to sound obnoxiously cute, akin to Libby Lu I suppose? Again another fav of mine!

• PHANES = Nike

So turns out upon research NIKE is the name of a Greek Goddess, in fact she is the goddess of Victory! I decided I'd keep the Greek God theme so I chose Phanes, the God of Life! I reference life since they are cartoons, and the definition of animation means to "bring to life". Corny? 😭

• INK = PINK 

This one I actually love because it's so simple. Ink is ofc is used to line cel cartoons, it's a color (like how PINK is a color) and it's also just so close in name to PINK it would be hard not to see the reference.

• Stewie Kabomb = Louis Vuitton 

Another glovie reference! It is ofc a pun on Louis Vuitton, nothing exceptionally clever.

• DISEGNI (indirect GUCCI reference again)

Ah yes, GUCCI comes back. Gucci is an Italian brand, and so I used the Italian word for "drawing", it seems fancy lol.

• Vaugn N. Sherry 

A pun of Tom and Jerry!  Another luxury brand, but an affordable one like Michael Kors!

• Hex-Mavery's

The Hot Topic of the tooniverse! The name is a pun on the animator Tex Avery!

• BITCHES R US

Not a complex brand ofc, another Hot Topic-y, Spencers-esque place. This was specifically where Coco got the "prosticute" shirt from.

And that's it for the first wave! In all honesty I pushed towards these because I am sometimes inspired by IRL fashion lines and want to do similar designs but didn't want to reference actual brand names as it would ruin the world building imo.
