We have two new Patreon membership options that I'm excited to share with you.

What a Difference a Year Makes

Annual memberships at Patreon have been available almost as long as the Darq Side has been around and a number of players have mentioned it, most recently in Discord just a few days ago. An annual option can make all of your Patreon memberships more pleasant to deal with -- by not having to deal with them! A good portion of our members contribute to multiple creators who already have the option.

I'm pleased to offer an annual pledge as an alternative to monthly at the Darq Side. Everything about your current membership stays exactly the same unless you decide to switch to the new option from the Manage Memberships page.

And if you decide to switch to an annual pledge instead of monthly, as a thank-you bonus during January I'm offering a discount of 16%, which works out to a savings of two months. I'd say that makes a sweet deal even better! Here is a link from Patreon if you want more details.

Celestial Bodies

Let me say to all of our members that I am proud to provide you with apps and services that improve the quality of your game time. And I'm honored every day that you allow me to earn your continued patronage. The Darq Side is blessed with generous, valued members in all of our patron tiers.

There was a request recently from one of our members to create an additional membership tier aimed at anyone who simply wants to contribute an exceptional level of support. Consider it done! But what to call it? We can find all sorts of examples in the game that categorize things like equipment, damage, spells -- there are even rarity tiers for vendor trash! But what's better than Mythical?

Tier tags exist such as Mythical Relic and Greater Relic, but those don't sound very complimentary. I don't think I'd want to be referred to as a Relic. Ethereal sounds nice, but it's more of a side-grade than an upgrade. There are labels like Ancient and Enervated, but neither one of those has a nice ring to it.

So the answer is clear: Celestial it is. Celestial is not always the highest tier of in-game systems aside from mounts, familiars and mercenaries. But it clearly denotes something distinctive (and the green color looks really good next to the other three!)

The new tier was not requested with the expectation of extra perks, but I did have an idea to offer something I would not normally make available. You may already know how I feel about making videos for the site, so I thought Celestial members might get a kick out of seeing the (many) outtakes from some of them when they are available. Basically my blooper reels. I may live to regret this ;)
