In the realm of essential gameplay add-ons, ACT (Advanced Combat Tracker) ranks high. The DarqUI Browser sports an option called ACT Mode which, when activated, converts the in-game browser into a simple parse viewer that displays combat data generated by ACT.
Once you have ACT Mode set up in DarqUI, using it day-to-day is easy. But there's a couple of roadblocks getting to that point that I want to show you here. Recently in Discord, Darq Side member Kammelle mentioned that setting up ACT Mode is not exactly intuitive, and I agree. Some changes were made today that should improve on that.
There are two steps needed to get things working, the first being to tell DarqUI where to find the ACT files. In the utility, click the blue Default link to find this location automatically (Image #1).
Next, switch to the Options tab in ACT and choose Output Display > HTML File Generation. Then check the box to Export static HTML files (Image #2). Of course there are plenty of options for how and what to display which you can experiment with. Now when you switch to ACT Mode in-game, you'll see your data.
The nice thing about using the DarqUI Browser in this way is you can minimize the window (toggle button on the left-hand side of the titlebar) to get the parse out of the way when you're not using it, then restore the view without reloading the page each time. Parse tables and graphs are still being generated and updated even while the browser is minimized.
