It Went Off Without a Hitch
Added 2022-01-23 21:33:39 +0000 UTCRecently Darq Side member Levaquin mentioned in Discord that he was seeing a momentary framerate drop, or "hitch," when initiating combat. I immediately thought back to previous troubles with the Maintained Spell Monitor, but after a few questions and getting some of his files I was able to duplicate exactly what he was seeing. Levaquin even made gameplay videos with his phone, clearly demonstrating the framerate issue with and without DarqUI.
With that info it took less than ten minutes to track down the source of the problem, and we are pleased to report that the hiccup is no more. Not every computer, player or character will experience the same momentary lag spike when combat starts. But if you have seen this on some of your characters, check for updates and you should see a big improvement.
