Here's a new option for a DarqUI-modified component. If you've been in Discord you may have noticed that Darq Side member chief was having a devil of a time with his Mercenary window not long ago. Chief likes everything including his UI to be just so (we can thank his occupation for that!) The problem with his Mercenary window was that it seemed to randomly select a new spot on screen upon logging in... sometimes.
We tried several experiments but could not prevent the game client from automatically size-checking, and therefore moving, the window a few pixels here and there. The gremlin was finally exorcised by designing an alternate Mercenary window that does not get size-checked when logging in, and therefore does not change its location.
The trick was to get the Behaviors area (those three dropdowns for Follow, Protect and Assist) into the upper part of the window in a compact way, keeping the footprint reasonably small and preventing the need to minimize/maximize. It turned out pretty nice (see image above) and we both like it enough that it's now an option for Darq Side members.
The dropdowns are accessed more efficiently, and detailed tooltips show the status of all three behaviors at a glance. Also, you may not have known this, but we have a special Small (S) size of the Mercenary window in either layout in case you really want to go tiny.
To try out the new "hybrid" window, check for updates and then choose Alternate layout from the gear icon. Thanks, chief!
