Important Update Regarding Membership

When I first started my Patreon I only had 1 Filter. I had my original GoPro Filter with many variants. Now my Patreon gives you access to 16 Reshade Presets and Pure Scripts & Configs for 18 PPFilter Versions. In the Tier 3 Filter Testing channel I’ve posted 36 Reshade Presets since creating the channel less than a year ago.

My Patreon offers a lot more now than when I first started, which is partly why I will be increasing my price for Tier 1 from $1 -> $2, and Tier 2 from $2 -> $3. The price for Tier 3 will remain $5. However, the main reason for the increase is due to how much Patreon & Paypal fees take away from my earnings.

Fees

Patreon takes 8% as a platform fee, then another 3.2% + $0.30 for payment fees. This flat rate of $0.30 takes a huge chunk out of every dollar pledged.

When I withdraw what's left, Paypal takes another 1% up front, along with another fee for converting the currency to Canadian. The Paypal exchange rate is always lower than the actual rate. When $1 USD = $1.44 CAD, Paypal's exchange rate was $1 USD = $1.38 CAD.

Of course after this comes income tax, which is quite high as a Canadian. When all is said and done I lose most of that $1 to Patreon, Paypal and taxes. For this reason Patreon recommends making the lowest Tier at least $3.

This Reddit user explains the discrepancy between the fees of $1 and $3 Tiers. The $0.35 flat rate has been lowered since, but still it shows how comically different the fees are.

Although the pricing will change immediately for new members, those of you who have already paid will still have access for the month you paid for at the price you paid. The price changes wont affect you until next month. So if you plan on ending your support for me, make sure to download everything while you can!
