Finally I had a solid couple of days to do literally anything but pack.

I guess that's not entirely true, I did get to go to a couple of the Oktoberfest celebrations going on in the city which was phenomenal.  It was a night to just not have to worry about putting my life into boxes and sign waivers/contracts.  The beer was very good.  Erdinger this time around, though I did get some Paulaner as well.  We have a local brewery that sells Fahr beer which has exploded onto the scene as well.

Yesterday was another day of purging things I won't be bringing in the morning, and _finally_ getting to work on a couple of commissions that I've slowly been chipping away at.  I definitely misjudged just how much time it was going to take to get this place packed in and cleared out.  I'm getting closer to living in a very weird, big, empty place though.  I still need to call about donating some furniture, and hauling the rest of what I've tossed out away.

The picture was semi-cathartic, and a warmup picture.  I'm trying to keep in practice, and wanted to try an 'angle' as Ellythistle and her large neigh companion (I still don't have a name for the poor guy) talk as they wander towards home.  This is the time of year that they retire from wandering the world and planes and come home for the harvest festivals (I'd like to think the Lorrnath do their own brand of Oktoberfest, though started for different reasons).  They then  'den' for the winter, staying warm.  Ellys writes some sort of novel, Raudhan (The Khettu) likely invents something that hopefully doesn't blow the house up, and the big neigh?  He rests.  And probably cooks a lot.  He strikes me as someone who cooks.

It's hard to believe that spook month is almost here.  I've lost so much time to the move, but it's not a bad thing.  I needed this.  The new place is in a stunning area, the fall walks there are going to be epic, and I'm going to need the exercise.. It's got cafes, bars, and food everywhere.  I mean, it has a bakery across the street.

I'm gonna get fat.

Happily.

I'll get a work-out bench though.  And like the pair in this picture, I'm going to den for the winter, and try to get the new place in order.

Dang, and everyone is wearing pants (of some sort). I can tell you from experience that living within walking distance of all the needed amenities is great. My little town is similar, but, no one would ever call it 'stunning', drab is more apt. Enjoy!

It is. There are moments where I pause and realize just how fast everything has gone, and how crazy this year really has been. But I'm feeling like I'm in a better place now. I'm looking forward to being in a new place, both physically and mentally.

So, is your head in a good place now? It sure sounds like it!
