Meanwhile in the Canadian Robot Army..

I've received my second shot this afternoon which is an immense relief.  Its a weird feeling to suddenly have the last of that anxiety slowly bleed away after so long.  Given that our province is going to be throwing the doors wide open on Money Rodeo day.. Er.. Canada day, the more protection I can get, the better.

It has been stunningly hot here.  I haven't felt a wall of heat like this since I visited Baltimore in the U.S. for the first time.  I'm fortunate that I didn't have to wait in a line outside of this place, because it nearly hit 100F here (It felt like it was around 38C).

Its set to hit 40C here on Wednesday, which will be record-breaking.

I'm devising a way to try and get a tablet down into the basement where its far cooler to do work.  Its more a game of logistics than anything.  I'd be using my old production box, and an old tablet (that I pray still works), though even then, I'm a little wary of working during the afternoons because of the upsurge of usage on our power grid.  We had one power blip so far late one night.

I'm hoping to get something set up in the next day or two.  I have art I want to get out there and a patron sketch to start but boy has it been hot.  Like, don't even turn on the stove hot.. I don't know how people in hotter climes deal with this.

I guess AC, which alas would blow out the power of this ancient abode, apparently built when candles were the only light source, and people believed foods had the devil in them.

I'm also going to be trying to write a little bit about some of the people I've drawn in the past, and maybe a bit about their lives/families/potatoes.  Something easier to do hiding in the basement with a laptop :)

Happy to finally have the whole vaccine done with for now, feeling creative, it'll just take a bit of wrestling to set up a temp work area.

Be safe, all.  Especially those caught in this 'heat dome'

Well, just stay out of harm's way for two more weeks and you should be protected against anything but the Gamma Variant, which turns its victims into zombies. It was flirting with 90F here again, today, which is actually good because it felt like 100F in the cities with the humidity. Almost glad I'm not working. And hunkering down in the basement with my 'work' laptop is a good idea. I have a dehumidifier that runs 24/7 down there.

I live very near Baltimore and the miasma that we call weather can be oppressive. If you are having “Charm City” weather, my condolences. … and that second shot is like the cell doors opening.
