The RMA Tango

I wanted to post a heads up to patrons that I'll be slightly slow for the next couple of days, and that painting work will have to stop for some time.  I just had my work-laptop have a pretty big failure, which means its likely going to have to do some travelling to whatever facility they send these things to get hardware replaced.

Its outside of warranty, which is a downer, and is going to cost a bit but I'm lucky enough to have an old backup desktop that I can use.  I'll be able to still do sketch/ink work, and light colour work, but paintings the size I've been doing would be a bit much on the old processor I think.  I'll give an update as to when I'll be able to resume doing paint-work once I can get a solid estimate on how long it will take, and I'll be a bit quiet for a couple days while I deal with pulling everything over from the backup drive and re-install a bunch of things on this machine.

Sorry for any delays, this kind of happened out of nowhere.

From what I can see, it's something that could be fixed. Its mainly to check if the drive hasn't been wiped out (I don't think it has). And sadly, indeed, these aren't made to keep going for a decade. While I love it for the sheer portability of it, especially in a house with no AC, it still is prone to having bits of it fail. this one lasted a couple years if not more, which is about average. But we'll see what the manufacturer says when they get back to me.

The gremlins always attack overnight. Good luck getting it fixed! Laptops are unfortunately prone to failure over the long term when the graphics, CPU, RAM, etc. are all stressed and running hot for long periods, as they are when arting or gaming.
