Tiny Tank (Sketch)
Added 2018-12-28 03:19:40 +0000 UTCAs a partial gift to a friend I was tasked with drawing a gnome from the Warcraft universe. I don't think I've drawn more than one image from that world, but I was pretty intrigued on trying something different.
Gnomes in Warcraft are ridiculously small. Their proportions tend to be about 2.5 heads tall, so it made trying to figure out how to draw this a bit of a challenge. I'm not used to drawing in vastly different scales like that, and hope that I got it about right. Either way this was a lot of fun to try and figure out.
I was given kind permission to post this, as well as a full res version of the final when its done. While it won't be painted, I'll be giving it an illustrative colouring.
I'm hoping to get the last sketch I have underway finished before year's end as well. This time around a Khulvarri Javarran town with a bridge.. Which is proving to be a LOT of little detail work.

They're one of the races I kind of root for. Back when I played I remember them getting a lot of flak, but I thought gnome-warrior tanks were brilliant just from a perspective of a tiny person absolutely smashing things and hiding under a shield 2 times their size :D

2019-01-03 02:42:49 +0000 UTCYup! I think scale-wise they come up to someone's hip. I had to do about four revisions to get the scale around how they have them in that game. I had to ask them for screenshots of them standing next to human beings in game and they're so darn tiny o.o
