A thank you.

There is a 'hashtag' going around on social media that is aimed towards creators on Patreon thanking their patrons. I indeed thought this was a good idea, but Twitter isn't a good medium to do this, both for both sanity or for posts longer than a small paragraph, so I thought I would make this more direct to those who stuck with me through the months and years, and those of you who are new, and to those who have moved on.

You helped a person with severe Impostor Syndrome and a deep dysmorphia not only towards himself but the characters he's drawn over the years. You have proven to every whispering shadow and wraith that haunts his head and humoured themselves with negativity that they were wrong. In every conceivable way.

It took me a year or two to realize (with a lot of help) that the things I sketched, scribbled and dreamed up could not be considered worthless if people found worth in it. That those little voices lied, and their arguments were flawed. Fundamentally you all helped me also learn to love what I created on a level I have never felt in my life.

This isn't just about monetary values. Some of you have shared glimpses into your own worlds that have left me smiling like a fool, and cheering you on. You have shared thoughts about what I create giving you joy, at times breaking a spell of grey I might have swirling around me and leaving me staring, if a little wide-eyed at the message, amazed at the prospect that the odd little things I draw in the odd little world populated by odd little people could bring actual happiness to anyone else.

I've tried to cultivate a way to say thank you that would match the constant amazement that each month I get to do this. To be honest the only thing I can say is simply that.

Thank you.

All of you.

I hope to make your generosity worth it each month. I hope to continue to add and build to this little world, and share the people in my head as they show up. (Warning, many of these works will have something to do with a small horned Lorrnath). I don't have the panic I used to have trying to find a 'second job' that would fit around the schedule of being a caregiver. In fact I can have days of winding down in my little world, which helps drain off the worries of the world very well.

Be well, folks. Until the next post.

I've luckily been able to start telling those voices to shut up with more reliable frequency. Those doubts will always be there, sometimes subtly, but they're much quieter now :)

You wouldn't believe how happy I was when I saw you were doing this. Loved your art since I bought laminated prints from you way back in the old days :D (pretty sure I bought them around 2000) ... its a treat to support you and I'll keep contributing as long as you keep doing it!

I look forward to seeing everything you put out. I've a habit of dropping everything when i see a notification. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people. I'm really happy to have been following you for so long - i think a year, year and a half? - and I'm going to keep doing so. :>

Those little naysaying voices sometimes need to be told to shut up. :) Very glad to be here with you on the journey. It's been a pleasure—and quite a ride!
